1 Transmission Failure problem of the 2013 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 11/13/2019

While going 65 mph on the highway the continuous variable transmission locked up, gas pedal became unresponsive, and the car had to be towed to the dealership. I am thankful that a car was not tailing behind me and that I was not driving during commute hours. Traction assist, hill assist, and check engine at oil temp light came on. At 97,000 miles on the odometer, the dealership said it was transmission failure. Parts in the transmission were replaced; however, due to the nature of the failure and the potential for bodily harm and harm to property, these transmissions should be recalled and replaced as a unit. For a car that has had regular maintenance and that has not driven in severe conditions, it was surprising that a transmission failure should occur at this mileage. While the extended warranty from Subaru shows good faith, it does very little to protect the safety of Subaru drivers. It is reckless and abhorrent for Subaru to be aware of the safety problem and to do nothing to mitigate it.

2 Transmission Failure problem of the 2012 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 07/23/2019

Subaru cvt - known issue my 2012 Subaru's cvt transmission failed without warning while in motion at 60mph driving in the left hand lane of a busy interstate. The car/engine had regular maintenance as directed by the maker, however without warning the transmission failed putting the driver and three passenger's lives at risk. Subaru has acknowledged issues with this specific transmission, however an extension of the warranty is not an appropriate intervention when potentially catastrophic accidents could occur without warning. This was a well maintained vehicle with no identifiable signs that the transmission could fail. Subaru should be held accountable for these failing cvt transmissions.

3 Transmission Failure problem of the 2014 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 01/17/2019

I am filing a complaint for my Subaru as the transmission is failing. I was unaware of this and never even notified of an issue or an extended warranty. My safety is at risk as the vehicle is not operating as it should and I was told by Subaru that they only had an extended warranty which I am out of and basically too bad our known issue is not Subarus responsibility once you hit a 100,000 miles. How is a known stalling issue due to a transmision failure in a vehicle not a safety issue and a recall????? who is responsible for there not being a recall? I need to know so that if and when my safety or any others is compromised god forbid anyone is hurt or critically injured, due to this known problem, which has not been recalled, who I will sue.
