Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Subaru Legacy. When the contact made a right turn to turn into a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated and surged out of the parking space. The vehicle struck a guardrail, then crashed into the building behind it . Then the vehicle bounced back into the parking space. The air bags did not deploy. The contact was not injured. No one else was involved in the crash but the contact. So their were no other injuries. No medical attention was needed. No police report was made. The vehicle was driven to a local mechanic. The vehicle was repaired (the contact didn't know what was damaged on their vehicle). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. They will send an official to the contact's home soon. My vehicle was involved in an accident yesterday. While pulling in to a parking spot and almost completely stopped with my foot on the brake about to place the car in park, it suddenly accelerated. The result was a front end collision with the side of a restaurant and the air bags did not deploy. I'm grateful that there were no injuries but I'm worried that there may be something seriously wrong with this vehicle and possibly others like it. I had a 2011 Subaru Legacy2. 5;at 1130 am,I was pulling into a parking space at a local convenience store near us that we often go to,when suddenly on turning right into the space I heard the engine "rev"at a fast speed even though I had lifted my foot from the accelerator. (I used to drive a manual shift,and it reminded me of the sound an engine would make when trying to upshift too fast between gears)before I could react the car surged forward into the space,and I was barely able to slam the brake before it covered the 6 to 8 feet and hit a guard post,crumbling the front end to where the engine is bent and the car a total loss. The airbags did not deploy. (fortunate,as when I returned home I found the letter from Subaru that my car was part of the takata recall)interestingly,the engine still started and the car was drive-able ,despite the radiator being cracked in half(we were able to park it after having it towed). I looked up the symptoms I experienced and feel that there may have been issues with the electronic throttle control mechanism or the app(which senses the position of the accelerator ,as I am sure you know)my check engine light never went on. The car had acted as if it had idling issues a couple of times but not with regularity, and it had never stalled or displayed any other warning of this. I had just driven the car about 7 miles before this happened. I will never buy another Subaru;I have had other cars with troubles in the past but this is by far the most dangerous. I am just thanking the lord that the airbags didn't deploy and we weren't crushed(my 17 year old daughter was in the passenger seat). And,the car only had 24,350 miles on it! practically new condition!sad,because I really liked this car.

The car was pulling out from a stop sign and traveling at 5 mph when the driver side door was hit by another vehicle traveling 45-50 mph with enough damage to be considered for total loss and the driver side airbag did not deploy. Slowly pulling into a parking spot, when the car accelerated (unintended acceleration) into a brick wall. As this is a critical safety issue (passenger airbag may not deploy in an accident), Subaru should issue a recall to repair or replace the faulty component(s).

The red air bag light on my car's dash is constantly on, and will not turn off. I am concerned because my car is a 2007 Subaru Legacy, and I know that there has been a recall on cars that have the takata air bags installed in them. I am not sure why my car's year and model have not been included in this national recall. I have an appointment tomorrow with a Subaru dealer to have them diagnose this issue. At this time the problem is unknown. I was told that my airbags will not deploy because the red air bag light is on.

Subaru Legacy driver side air bag failure. Was pulling forward on a green light when I was t-boned on drivers side door and front wing/wheel. My speed approx 5 mph,, straight, other car driving above the threshold for a front airbag to deploy in a Hyundai sonata 2013, which I believe above 14 mph into solid concrete wall or 28 mph parked car per tests. Hyundai car was perpendicular to Legacy when it struck. Side airbags failed to deploy despite extensive damage to driver door and left wing. Let front wheel bent upwards into engine area, windscreen cracked, complete damage to left front end and side up to end of driver door. Rear door unmarked.

The contact smelled something burning and then the air bags deployed. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop and was not able to determine why the air bags deployed with a delay. The contact owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. While reversing out of the driveway, another vehicle driving at approximately 55 mph crashed into the front driver's side door of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained lacerations to the head, hematomas, amnesia, stuttering, damage to the nervous system, and severe head injuries. The injuries required medical attention and caused the contact to become an epileptic. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was not diagnosed nor repaired. Veh. Was traveling at approx. 25mph up a low incline on slushy paved 2 lane surface. Veh. Broke traction spun sideways and travelled sideways into brush and striking a tree in the driver. Side front fender (side impact). Drivers head struck and broke drvrs. Door window. Drvr. Sustained several facial lacerations requiring plastic surgery and resulting in probable scarring. Front seat passenger sustained right leg injury resulting in severe bruising and swelling. Both were treated in an emergency room and released. Veh. Is equipped with side curtain airbags which did not deploy. If deployed, the drvr. Side airbag would have prevented the drvrs. Injuries.

My airbag light had been turning on intermittently as is described by many 2008 Subaru Legacy and outback owners about a year prior to my accident. On October 15th, 2014, I lost conciousness while driving and went off the road and struck two trees. My vehicle was totaled with a cracked frame and it took two tow trucks and a winch to pull my car off of the trees. In this accident my airbags did not deploy and I suffered a fractured vertebra, a traumatic brain injury, knee injuries, and shoulder injuries. This is beyond wrong and Subaru know there are defective parts in these Legacy's and outback's as is outlined by all of the complaints out there online and with the NHTSA. I will not stop pursuing this until Subaru is held accountable ethically, as well as financially for the problems I have suffered as a result of their defective product.

On April 14th I was involved in a chain reaction accident on the i90 in amherst, new york. My 2009 Subaru Legacy was the last car of three involved. I incurred significant front end damage of at least $9,000. The most serious complaint is that the air bag never deployed. I complained to Subaru about this and wanted them to look at the vehicle. They refused and said it was not their issue.

Traveling west on i90 near mentor ohio I attempted to stop my 2003 Subaru Legacy wagon on a snow covered portion of the road. My speed was about 45 mph. Traffic stopped suddenly, and when I applied the brakes, the car would not stop. Also, the abs brake system did not activate. Further, upon impact with the truck in front of me, the airbags did not deploy.
