Side/window Air Bag Problems of Subaru Legacy

Our car was recalled due to a safety hazard with the passenger side airbag in 2016, so severe that the letter stated that death could occur should the airbag deploys. After an initial appointment, we were told we had to wait about a month for the replacement to be delivered. During this time, we were not able to have a passenger in the front seat. We had to arrange for other transportation on the day that our car was repaired as well as when it was originally inspected for the replacement part. After the work was done, we had to take the car back a third time because in the course of fixing the airbag, the dealership damaged our keyless remote (which they fixed). We lost valuable time from work. Now, less than 3 years later, the same car is being recalled for the same issue: the passenger side airbag posses a safety hazard, this time due to the replacement airbag. We are taking it to a different dealer, but again, the soonest they can get it into the shop is March 11. Again, we are left with a car that cannot transport a front seat passenger for over a month. This time, the dealership is offering a free loaner car on the day that our car will be in the shop, but we are still losing valuable time due to this. This is the third recall on this vehicle since we owned it. The first was a brake line recall.

I received a recall for passenger air bag and the company set up an appointment for me. However, I remember receiving a recall for the drivers side air bag a year or so ago, and when I called the company I purchased it from, they told me the recall was not meant for my Legacy, so I threw away the letter. Now I am wondering - was there a recall for the drivers side and can I still get it replace by that company?.

I have an urgent need to address a safety recall for passenger side airbag and windshield wiper replacements . There are no Subaru dealerships in my area that can tend to this repair in a timely manner. They are all booked out until September. This is unacceptable. Clock spring in steering column is bad. Horn does not work. Driver's side air bag may be inoperable. Condition exists when vehicle is stationary with ignition off and while it is in motion.

In February, I received a recall notice regarding the passenger side air bag. The notice mentioned a parts shortage, and that I would be notified when the supply improved. I have not yet received that second letter. In the meantime, I am not able to allow passengers in the front passenger seat which is a significant inconvenience.

The contact owns a 2005 Subaru Legacy gt purchased in 2009. The passenger side air bag would not operate with an occupant in the passenger's side seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to make repairs to correct failure. There were no recalls on the year, make and model for frontal airbags, only side and window airbags. Consumer was involved in 30 mph front end collision with a building in which front passenger's side and driver side airbags failed to deploy. Injuries were sustained to consumers back and neck. Damage to vehicle was estimated over four thousand dollars. Dealer has yet to be contacted. Please provide further details.

When driving at 45 mph vehicle veered to the right and lifted up, and all power went to the front side. Consumer applied abs brakes, and vehicle wouldn't stop, causing vehicle to skid and run into a house. Upon impact, driver's side and passenger's side air bags didn't deploy.

Vehicle was involved in an accident during which both air bags deployed; however, the passenger's side air bag shattered the windshield, causing glass to fly all over the vehicle. Also, it shattered the door opener which was attached to the visor.
