1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2017 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 05/25/2017

Had a frontal impact hitting a deer in center of front grill at 45-50 mph. During impact steering wheel airbag deployed and all side impact airbags deployed. Passenger side did not deploy. Cannot get answer as to why. . . Side impact airbags deployed?? Subaru dealer said they will only deploy when you have a roll over or side impact. Mechanic stated that none of the sensors were effected and none of the airbags should have deployed.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 05/01/2017

Passenger airbag sensor is faulty resulting in the car not realizing when a person is in the front passenger seat. This will not allow the front passenger airbag to go off when involved in a collision.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 08/06/2015

Airbag dashboard cluster light started being intermittent and now on all the time. Does it mean the sensor is bad or the airbag. Since the car mat be part of the takata recall. I am not sure what the issue is.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2010 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 11/18/2011

The passenger-side air bag in our 2010 Legacy is turning off intermittently and spontaneously while the car is in motion, although the passenger seat is occupied by a 120-pound person. The bag is deactivating even though the seat is securely locked into position as far from the dashboard as it will move, and nothing is placed beneath the passenger¿s seat. To reactivate the air bag, it is necessary to stop, then to restart the engine, and that maneuver is frequently not feasible in either heavy freeway traffic, or on remote highways that lack shoulders. The rebooting procedure indicates that the problem is not any sensor for the seat¿it is a problem with the computer operating the air bag. The dealer is unable to treat this problem.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 01/03/2011

The air bag sensor does not work in the passenger seat, the part fails mostly in cold weather even when there's no passenger. It appears that at about 60 degrees it works ok, this is a huge problem because according to the dealer the system will not work at all as long as the lights on.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2010 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 08/17/2010

The 2010 Subaru Legacy gt has a defect in the sensor that determines weight in the passenger seat. This sensors function is to turn the airbag on or off depending on the amount of weight in the seat. With a 114 pound woman in the passenger seat, the automatic airbag sensor does not signal for the airbag to be ready to deploy and continues to be in the off mode. After taking the vehicle to multiple Subaru dealerships, I was informed that the needed weight to turn the airbags to the on mode was 17 pounds. My 114 pound wife is far more than 17 pounds but the airbag sensor still does not trip to the on mode. I am worried that a passenger will not be protected in a possible crash.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 12/18/2009

The contact owns a 2005 Subaru Legacy gt purchased in 2009. The passenger side air bag would not operate with an occupant in the passenger's side seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to make repairs to correct failure. There were no recalls on the year, make and model for frontal airbags, only side and window airbags. The current and failure mileages were under 62,793. Updated 01/29/10. Updated 01/29/10.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Subaru Legacy

Failure Date: 02/06/2007

2005 Subaru Legacy gt passenger seat belt sensor is not functioning correctly. The seat belt warning light and chime comes on after driving about 7 miles with no one in the seat or anything sitting on the seat. It seams to be worse in the winter than in the summer. The reno dealer has 'calibrated' it at least twice and several times the service advisor said try putting the back of the seat more vertical and that should fix the problem (it did not). I e-mailed Subaru support and was told that the problem does appear to be a normal operation of the vehicle. I was given the option to perform a procedure to permanently disable this warning chime, which I do not want to do.
