Left rear tire suddenly failed while I was towing a 3000 lb trailer on a major freeway. The rear of the Toyota started to sway which in turn caused the trailer to start to sway. The Toyota swung back and forth violently and nearly rolled over. Damage was done to both the trailer and the Toyota as the two vehicles jack knifed and struck each other. I was able to come to a stop on a rough shoulder of the road which did additional damage. I believe the goodyear tires were not sufficiently heavy duty for 4 wheeling on primitive roads and trailer towing. The 4runner came with a towing package which also was inadequate. The sock absorbers are too soft for stable towing. Adjustable stiffer shocks should be provided on such a vehicle as well as some kind of vehicle leveling system to provide more stable towing. Sb on I-24 n. Of chatanooga, left rear tire "blew. " exam showed tread had separated from outside tire wall. Outside tire wall had a dozen or more slices like a sliced pie. Tire not unusually hot; load not unusually heavy (only driver was in car); tire pressure was normal (33psi). Need to know how to prevent other 4 tires from doing the same thing! (tiresize: p265/70r16).

While driving a 65mph, suddenly heard an explosion. Press the brake to slow the vehicle down, notice the outer side of the tire is torn out of the main tire body.
We have contacted Toyota and the dealership and they are unwilling to see any of these things as safety hazards. Especially door locks, tires, seatbelts. And we were never told the vehicle was serviced before we purchased it "brand new" in 1997. We found that out in error at the dealership (al hendrickson Toyota) when they accused us of not servicing our vehicle. The SUV was clearly a lemon all along. We took the vehicle to be serviced but the dealership conveniently has no records of us, even when provided with documented proof (receipts). There computer says "we did not come into service our vehicle. " the 1997 4-runner is a safety hazard. (dot number: n/a tiresize: p265/70r16).

I contacted the firestone organization to possibly have the tire replaced because I had apprehensions about the tires, and they refused to replace them. The car was brand new and I felt the tires should have been replaced at no cost to me. (tiresize: 175/50r)( dot number: tire size: 175/50r ).
Joint that conects tire to steering wheel broke and caused tire to pop and flip over.

Experiencing vibration when driving at speeds in excess of 65mph,and the vehicle seems to veer to the left, vehicle was taken in for service for an alignment that did not alleviate problem, consumer returned and then was advised a cross rotation of the front tires would solve the problem, consumer was advised that tires were chopped but not to the point of replacement, with the vibration still occuring the vehicle is now veering to the right, mechanic advised consumer that even though tires were chopped replacing them would solve the problem, however consumer was advised by a mechanic at firestone that it would not be neccesary to replace tires, and that other vehicles have had this problem, mechanic believed it to be the design of the vehicle.
While driving, consumer heard a loud pop, consumer stated there was a puncture between treads of the firestone wilderness at tire p225/75r15 dot w2hh and that tire was repairable.
Replaced all 4 tires because of vibration at highway speeds. We had these tires balanced and checked over 8 times at numerous dealers, but because of Ford recall, they would not do anything about it. I removed the tires from my vehicle at 14,000 miles due to safety concerns about the vibration. I still have the original tires. The firestone dealer would have done something about it had there not been a recall in effect. This problem existed from the day we purchased the vehicle until we had them removed. (tiresize: 225r75/15)( dot number: tire size: 225r75/15 ).
We have a thumping noise in one of the tires. Firestone will not honor the recal on this as it is a 225 . Do we have any recourse? I am concerned that all the tires are dangerous at this point. (tiresize: 22575r15)( dot number: tire size: 22575r15 ).
Replacement of all five tires as two were already separating, have had trouble with one loosing air since bought, unable to find reason, tires were replaced by goodyear and firestone advised can't reemburse because of already taken off, other firestone said tires are two years old and needed replacing anyway. I spoke with robert oper. 50 at NHTSA. (dot number: w2hhawb048 tiresize: p225/75r15).
Upon switching my firestone tires to another brand, I noticed that one of the tires removed from my vehicle had a definite crack between the tread. It was an older tire, 2 years, 40k miles, but the deep crack between the treads concerned me, as I had not seen anything like that before. None of the other 3 tires exhibited this unusual wear characteristic. (dot number: w2hh tiresize: p225/75r15).
The subject right rear tire came apart when the tread separated from the casing. ( dot number: wzhh awb tire size: p225/75r15 ).

Tires have been rotated and balanced as manufacturer suggested. Inside of tires have shown signifigant wear and at the time of recall we had tires checked only to find that there was steel showing on one tire and that tire was changed out with the spare. Other 3 tires are showing signs of extreme wear and we were told that because the tires were not made in decatour, IL there was nothing that could be done beyond purchasing new tires. There are only 40000 miles on the vehicle at this time and the tires are warrentied at 50000. Our concern is that the tires are a hazard because of the wear and this vehicle is primarily used for the family. ( dot number: w2hh awb25 tire size: p225/75r15 ).
While driving, front passenger firestone wilderness at tire p225/75r15 experienced blowout, consumer was driving on the rim.

After driving out of town heard noise coming from tires, and found out that the left rear tire was flat without a reason. Then, at second time right rear tire was flat without a nail.
Told by mechanic that left rear tire was beginning to separate. Replaced all four firestones-still have one as spare( dot number: w2hhawb tire size: p22575r15 ).
High speed blowout occurred April 14, 2000 on I-5 one & a half hours north of bakersfield. The drivers-side rear tire completely seperated at the seam. Nowwith the recent recall of the other firestone tires I suspect that my tires are also defective. I have already replaced one, and now am driving on four that are possible death-traps. Please advise. ( dot number: tire size: p225/75r15 ).
Cracks - blowouts. . . I replaced tires at my expense. Toyota refers me to firestone. I didn't buy tires from firestone , Toyota did. ( dot number: ? tire size: 15 ).
Tires on his vehicle are worn out at under 10,000 miles. Consumer stated had replaced three set of tires already.
Tires put on by manufacturer performed very poorly. Tires forced vehicle to go from side to side, and sometimes vehicle went off the road, extreme difficult to control vehicle during normal driving. Dealer told consumer nothing would help.
Tires explored with nothing left only the rim. ( dot number: tire size: ? ).
These tires have never held air they always need to be reinflated. After a 3 hour trip (we make this trip often) accross the florida panhandle we always have to put air back into the tires. Given the resent problems with these tires failure to hole air with ours seems like a "bigger" deal than we have thought. When we went to the dealer they said our tires were not the ones on the recall. If the tires are safe then we believe they should not be replaced but. We cant get anyone to say they are safe? the only thing we have noticed it the air pressure problem on all four tires/ and the truck feeling like it is scraping around the left side without reguard to tire rotation. I have children I just want someone to tell me that these tires are indeed safe and why they will not hold air properly. ( dot number: tire size: p225/75r15 ).
The tire shredded while driving along the highway. I do have photos of the tire showing the disintegration of the tire tread. This is not one of the recalled tires. However, due to this incident, I feel I should have my tires replaced by firestone. I will forward the phots to your office. (dot number: w2hhawb068 tiresize: p225 75r15).
Firestone wilderness at tires p225 75 r15 experienced cupping and vibration, consumer wants reimbursement.
The tire has not actually failed. The tire showed irregular wear after a trip of 2500 miles. The tire was moved to the rear and is presently making a humming noise. I will procede to firestone this week to have it checked out. ( dot number: tire size: 205/15 ).
Dunlop tires failed/blew out.
2/4 original tires have failed several times to maintain air pressure under normal driving conditions. Of those two tires, 1 has been replaced after showing signs of seperation, and the other is needing more air 2-3x/wk, and is showing signs of seperation( dot number: w2hh tire size: p225/75r15 ).
Exessive tread wear, flat spots, exessive noise, constant rotating and balancing needed. ( dot number: w2hawb377 tire size: 225/75/r15 ).
Tires on the vehicle at the time of purchase were of the incorrect size which caused speedodmeter to register incorrect speeds. Please give any further details.
