My dashboard has a tear over the airbag on the front passenger side. I took it to the Toyota dealership on franklin st. In hempstead before the covid 19 virus shut down. I was informed that since there's no recall on my vehicle, I would have to pay out of pocket to change the dashboard cover. I think it's a safety issue since this happened through no fault of my own. The vehicle is in mint condition and runs like new because I take care of my cars. Please help.

Air bag dashboard light occasionally flickers and begins to glow for a few seconds. Seems to occur more frequently in wet weather. My steering wheel will lock when I turn left or right while driving. Reversed backwards a little bit and wiggled the steering wheel, it wouldn't budge then I went forward and wiggled and it finally loosened. This has happened 4 times and usually in wet weather. My car is listed in the air bag recall of 2015; however, I have not been notified of what to do next and it has now been more than 3 years since first notification.

(1) air bag dashboard light occasionally flickers and begins to glow for a few seconds this seems to occur more frequently in wet weather. . (2) when moving and making a right turn, the door locks click open and the interior light goes on for a few seconds, this happens daily.
On 10/25/18 I was involved in a head on collision when my gas pedal hung and lurched forward while I was pulling into a parking space at a doctor's office. I had slowed down to park when my car jumped the curb and hit the building head on. It was 3:50 in the afternoon and a clear visibility day. The police report has my speed at about 20 mph. My airbag didn't deploy, I did have my seatbelt on. It was straight front end damage to my car. As a result of the impact I am suffering from whiplash and possible (traumatic brain injury), also neck and back pain. I believe that the cause of this accident was the gas pedal sticking and as a result of no airbag deployment causing more motion on my head, neck, and back.
Entire dashboard above and below air bag compartments starting cracking about one year ago for no obvious reason . Garage kept, 60, 000 miles.
Takata recall. Car was hit on side impact (t-boned) on driver side front going approximately 65 mph on a 4 lane highway. Car subsequently rolled over on impact and was pushed into guard rail. No airbags deployed, driver was trapped and had to be extracted. Driver suffered head injury with laceration and mild brain trauma. 2 other passengers in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Takata recall. The panels are all cracking around the dashboard and around where the airbags are located. It is not driven often and is garage kept and stationary most of the time. The cracks are spreading and getting worse over entire dashboard.
Was told air bags may contain metal.
Takata recall.

Nhtsa recall 15v-043 (1-27-15). On 7/16 I received an urgent safety recall notice via mail. Russel Toyota 410-788-8400 said they would call when the part comes in. On 12/6/16 I call mr. Allen, service manager who said the part was on back order and they would call me in 2-3 months. One question: why is Toyota allowed to make me drive my car with this unsafe condition for more than 2 years before they think about obtaining the parts necessary to complete the repairs?.
I tried twice to get a safety recall fixed by koons Toyota tysons corner after receiving a notice from Toyota that there was a safety recall on my Toyota Avalon (recall 15v-043). Twice the dealer told me they would have to inspect the car to see if it needed a remedy to the recall and only after an inspection would they order parts. I brought it in the first time, they said it did need the recall and they would order the parts. They never did. When I tried to schedule it again, they told me the same story that I had to bring it in for an inspection and then they would decide if they could order the parts. It is ridiculous to go through such terrible customer service, and so therefore the recall has not been remedied yet.
Takata recall. I purchased my new car on may 4th, 2016. The recall was issued April 13th, 2016, before I made the purchase. The dealership sold me this without notifying me of this. The sales manager said I should have received the letter of the recall but I hadn't even bought the car then. I read it is a federal law against selling a new vehicle with an active recall. The manager said this law doesn't pertain to to this sale but only to "stop sales" issues. I never would have bought this new car knowing a recall was issued, pending, or fixed.
Takata recall I received a safety recall notice about the passenger front airbag on may 2 2016. I went to walker jones service department in waycross, GA on may 3. I was told they do not have the part and have only received one replacement part. I was told they would call me when Toyota sent them the part. I called again on may 16 and they said the same thing. I want my vehicle repaired so I can safely use it. Why are the parts not available??? this is unacceptable. When these notices are sent out why do we have to get the runaround about the parts?.
I have been waiting over a year for this to be remedied. This is unacceptable.

Takata airbags: having received takata recall notices, I took my car to the dealer for action. He said my vehicle does not have takata airbags. According to NHTSA site, it does. Please let me know if there were any 2003 Toyota Avalon models sold with some other airbags than takata. If I do indeed have takata airbags, please let me know. Thank you.

2004 Toyota Avalon -receive a notice of a problem with the supplemental restraint system(srs) electronic control unit (ecu). The original "fix" for this problem (deemed an "urgent safety recall" by Toyota) was announced in Mar, 2014. It was later found that this "fix" did not do the job. A 2nd recall (dated Jan 27th, 2015)was issued. To date, the recall has a status of "remedy not available". I consider this to be reprehensible!! the recall id is 15v043. I have called Toyota on several occasions and I get the same response. . . . "we will contact you when a remedy is available. ".
Still waiting, over 1 year later, for resolution of NHTSA recall 15v043. This recall is dated 27 Jan 2015. Today is 03 Feb 2016. This is an unacceptable delay for a safety recall. Is there no enforcement action that could be utilized to address this issue?.

Dashboard and airbag covers including dash are badly cracked, airbag safety is potentially compromised if deployed. The car is available for inspection at my residence at any time. Toyota offered to supply and replace dash covers to fix this danger, but parts were never made available. The hazard remains.
