While driving on a city street at about 40 mph I heard a loud bang under the car, like something hit the underside of the car. Then I heard rattling when I rode over bumps in the road. Took it to a service center right away and they found a broken coil spring on the front suspension. Fortunately, the spring broke close to an end of the spring, so the height of the car did not drop noticeably. If the break were in the middle of the spring, then the vehicle would have dropped significantly, perhaps resulting in a crash. The car's mileage was 114,990. The repair costs for two spring/strut assemblies, two stabilizer links and a wheel alignment was $920.

I noticed while driving on highways that my 09' Camry with 72k miles seemed as if I didn't have good control - like it was floating all over the road, kind of like a boat. I also noticed a creaking noise coming from left front wheel well when going over road bumps at slow speed. I had recently purchased tires so I went to tire dealership for a diagnostic . To my disbelief I was informed that my front struts (left and right) were leaking and they recommend that I replace them. Dealer wanted way to much money for the replacement so I went with my personal mechanic. My mechanic replaced all four struts, said that the coil springs appeared to be ok. Afterwards I had an alignment and balance. Shortly thereafter I went on a long distance trip, and my car was driving like a nightmare! the car handling was worse, felt like there was no space between me and the road, and the creaking noise was worse. I took it to the dealership where I purchased for a diagnostic exam and they told me I needed the front(left and right) strut mounts replaced and quoted a price that was $200 less than I had paid for struts to be replaced. So I went back to my personal mechanic. He replaced front (left and right) strut mounts, and now the creaking noise is worse and the handling about the same - bad. Since I owned the car - brand new w/ 11 miles - I am own my 3rd set of tires and have to have it balanced and aligned 2 or more time a year. I called Toyota company (12/22/2015) and asked if they would give me a discount at my local dealership for another diagnostic and repairs for the problem and they said no because there was no recall for the issue. I do not feel safe driving my car and am afraid that my car is going to have a catastrophic failure. Will never buy another Toyota! our government need to step up, do their jobs and implement auto recalls on all defective equipment.

Brought to mechanic and been advised that the front passenger side strut is leaking. Mechanic also told us he saw two other similar cases for 2009 Camry, and advise us to contact Toyota. Toyota was aware of the failure but no safety issue and not under warranty item. Our mechanic stated for safety, front strut coil, spring and mount should be replaced. I am sure Toyota know the current issue of this design fault; but the replacement parts and recalls will be expensive to them. But for long term, my mechanic told me the leaking will create safety issue. Approximate miles: 40200.

I own a 2004 Toyota solara and form forums I been going to 3 out of 5 owners seems to have the same issue which is that the new cars seem to pull to the left when ever speeding up also the tire pressure indicator keeps going off. . . So far Toyota dealerships haven't been able to find out but from what I know one of the owners of a 2004 solara has been able to detect the problem which is that the problem resides in the spring pressure (or something like that). They basically need to rotate the springs seating in the perch about a quarter inch to fix the problem. That way it would stop the car from pulling to the left and also not causing the light indicator to go off. . . .
The front driver side suspension coil spring snapped while driving in reverse to move out of a parking space and fractured the end of the spring and scored the tire wall. The microscopic observation of the fractured surface showed dark crystals embedded in the steel. The air conditioner did not blow cold air, the dealer replaced the condensor and receiver dryer.
The front coil spring snapped and punctured the front driver tire.
While backing out of driveway vehicle's left front coil spring broke, and went through left front tire, and tire deflated. Consumer stated vehicle was hard to steer temporarily. Consumer felt this was unsafe because it could happen on freeway. Consumer has not contacted dealer. Please provide any furthur information.
Consumer was parked in driveway getting ready to back up and front spring coil popped through tire on driver's front side. Consumer didn't have any signs driving home from work. Tire was taken off, and what was left had a big blotch in metal. It was broken in half, only top part was attached to vehicle. Vehicle was towed to dealer, and warranty coverage was for 36,000 miles.
Left side front end coil spring broke while getting into parked vehicle. Manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that the vehicle was out of its warranty, and not covered under a manufacturer's recall. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
Front left coil spring broke and fell onto the road, which could cause loss of vehicle control.
Spring stopper was installed in front spring at factory, possibly for delvery purposes, but it was not removed when sold to consumer, causing a steering hazard.
