Took it to be inspected and have the brake lines replaced due to age and rust. When I went to pick up the car, the mechanic opened the door for me. When he opened the door, the handle broke off. Also, the inside handle broke off last year, so the plastic isn't that good. They should use metal handles instead.

A part in the door of my 1998 Toyota Corolla broke about two years ago. I could not open the driver's door from the outside. I got it fixed at the dealer for about $300. A few months ago, something in the same door malfunctioned. I am now unable to open the door from the inside. A few days ago, the original problem occurred again. I am now unable to open the driver's door.
Interior door handles: in October of 2002, the front driver-side interior door handle broke (the spring inside the door handle broke through the plastic), and had to be replaced. The front passenger-side interior door handle broke. About a week later the driver's side back sear door handle broke as well. Both, during normal usage of opening the door.
: the contact stated while making a u-turn at 5 mph or less there is a clicking noise in the steering and while going over speed bumps there is a squeaking noise noticed coming from under the vehicle. Additionally, all the door trim has detached and the interior door handles are cracking and breaking. The dealer was alerted.

Consumer states that the automatic ignition controlled door locks have been unlocking when they are not supposed to, this occurs while driving or when the security system has been activated, the power lock button on the drivers door will occasionally fail, the dealer has replaced the actuator.
I have been having constant problems with the automatic ignition controlled door locks unlocking when they're not supposed to, starting at about 38000 miles. Either when I'm driving, or after the security system (securikey+, dealer installed) has been activated. Also power lock button on driver's door will occasionally fail to operate properly (it'll lock the doors but will not unlock them). Car has been taken to two Toyota service departments seven times over the past seven months. All "repairs" have been temporary, lasting from two months to two weeks. I get a different diagnosis each time. The actuator is the only part that has been replaced.
When trying to exit vehicle door handles on drivers and passengers side will not open, can be opened from outside using a key to lock and unlock. Had not taken vehicle to dealership.
My car is automatic. Sometimes when I am driving it "revs" really high like over 4. And thats only when I am going 30mph. Even if I put overdrive on it still doesnt work. Also my low gas light indicator fades in and out. Its doesnt come on until the car is past the "e" . And the last problem is my locks. When I am driving I lock my doors. And then when I turn off my car, take my keys out, it wont let my unlock my door. I have automatic doors and it shouldnt be doing this. One last comment is that these problems do not happen on all the time. But at least once a week. I have brought it in to the Toyota dealer many times and they say there is nothing wrong. I know there is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
