Frame And Members Problems of Toyota Corolla

1999 Toyota Corolla purchased in vermont Jan. 1999, moved to nc in July, 2008, with about 101,000 miles. Driver was at doctor's office parking lot Aug '08-started the vehicle, and the brake pedal went down to the floorboards, pool of brake fluid on ground. Refilled reservoir, and as soon as pedal was pressed, brake fluid sprayed out. Towed to local garage, where mechanic showed that the rear brake line to rear brakes was severely rusted and just ruptured under pedal pressure. He spliced on a 1-2 foot section where the rust was worst. On 6/03/2010, the same happened on the opposite rear brake line in our driveway. Car was towed to Toyota of new bern, nc. By aaa, with a detailed note to replace that ruptured line. After a $207. 00 inflated bill, that line was also spliced, and the repair invoice noted that all the brake lines needed replacement from severe rust. Asked the dealership owner to reconsider the 2 hour charge of $90. 00 per hour, but he was obstinate stating he had a multi-million dollar new state-of-the-art facility he had to pay for, and would not compromise with the initial $90. Estimate given the previous day. This undercarriage rust runs throughout the vehicle. No garage will align the 4 wheels for fear of snapping something. I've replaced the leaking gas tank and filler neck two years ago for the same massive corrosion. These corrosion issues pose a very real threat to life should the brakes fail on these northern vehicles driven on salted winter roads. Toyota of new bern, nc owner apparently is trying to make up for his drop in sales due to recall issues by overcharging his repair customers. When the service dept. Rep phoned to confirm receipt of the vehicle towed, he informed me there was an initial $90. Diagnostic charge before beginning the work. I objected, as I had told him to repair that specific brake line, and he countered with, "but that includes a free 23 point check. " I said no way, & his mgr. Agreed with me. Yeah, right.

I purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla last fall but have driven it very little. This is a dangerous car to drive. When driving on the highway the steering requires constant correction. It seems to continuously drift right or left and is very exhausting. I mentioned it to the service mgr. And he said decreasing the tire pressure a little may help. It did not. Toyota should recognize that this is a real and serious problem and address it before there reputation is further damaged.

A year ago under rainy weather,driving my Toyota Corolla s/09 when approaching the highway exit I lost control of the car before turning out to the main way. I crashed with the highway bar and the left side of the car got damage, no airbags came out, however I drive it like that to the dealer where they assist for the whole reparation and deal with the insurance. My deductible was $1000 among the reparation. Weeks later they called me to pick up the car, noticing the lights from the board didn't turn on. Getting back to garage. Then 6 months later the harness was reported as non properly repair when an engine light turns on and I got back to the dealer. They did reparation back with the insurance as part of the accident reparation. They were all sending each other and no one gave any answer about was going on with the car. Later, I decide to sell the car by owner or trade for another, noticing that all the mechanics I'd visited including other dealers are telling me that the care is unsafe to drive due to a frame damage that was never reported to me after the entire reparation, and is not in the papers. I did all the recalls suggested by Toyota this year, but I'm still driving a car that should be reported as a total lost due to the damage suffered at the accident. Adjuster said there was nothing wrong at reparation and that people from the dealer couldn't say the car wasn't properly repaired. I'm still paying for the car, the increment of the insurance, and nobody at Toyota cares about the frame damage issue. At the last reparation due to the harness, they didn't gave any work paper saying they get rid of printer paper. Things shouldn't be like this when safety is first thing when driving a car.

My husband and I purchased the 2009 Corolla s in April 2008. . . Months later the side panel on the passenger side below the seat belt and side air bag popped off the vehicle it appears the plastic piece that holds it on is broke. Also, the passenger door made a funny noise everytime I open it. I examined it and it appears the bolts holding on the door is coming loose. I keep tightening it but still comes loose. Another problem we have had is the fuse for the cigarette lighters keep blowing and need replaced. Even though these are only minor issues it still is a hassle for a brand new car. . .

There is a clicking noise from underneath vehicle. Consumer took vehicle to dealer, who is aware of problem.

Bad seam caused water to leak into passenger area it also have moldy smell when fan begins to run. Yh.

The fender dents effortlessly, the right fender has a wave/ripple in the metal and dents when pressure is applied lightly with one finger, consumer is afraid because if the vehicle dents with such light pressure what could happen in a collision. Nlm.
