The horn stopped working. Toyota verified it is the electrical behind the dashboard, which will cost $475. 00 to repair. I was on the interstate highway 89 when the car I was passing started veering into my lane. I went to use my horn and it did not work! very scary situation.

Vehicle horn stopped working. Not sure what caused it to stop working. I have not used it that often, but this recently happen when I was merging onto the highway and another vehicle almost ran right into me and my horn did not work to warn them I was there. This makes me nervous in case something does happen with my child in the car.

Horn only works when the steering wheel is turned to the right or left and won't work when the wheel is straight. No matter if the car is moving or not the problem is fixed by replacing the clock spring, a lot of people had this issue in Corolla (2010 -2012).
Tl takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the horn began to fail after the vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags) by Toyota of pharr (1625 w expy 83, pharr, TX 78577, 1-800-347-2360). In addition, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated after the repair. The contact was uncertain if the part that was replaced caused the failure or if the remedy was the cause. The dealer indicated that a service appointment needed to be scheduled for the horn failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was not available.

The maintenance light stays on and won't reset after the 15000 mile oil change. After 16000 miles the horn stopped working. At 16900 miles on 08/07/2018 the driver airbag light came on and stayed on, and the steering wheel cover where the airbag is is loose. The brakes and alignment have been checked and are good, but sometimes the wheels lock and the car doesn't brake well, as if the antilock system stopped working.

I was driving to work on a city street when a vehicle changed lanes without warning into my lane. My first reaction was to honk as I swerved to avoid being hit. The horn did not work, thank god my there was enough room for me to move to avoid being hit. I have taken my car in for the air bag recall to the dealership to be fixed. I'm wondering if something could have happened to the spiral cable then or if it is just a faulty equipment. Went I got home I kept trying to make my car honk and I noticed when I turn my steering wheel a certain way it honked. I took my car in for service and asked about the horn and was told there would be a $200 fee to diagnose the problem and that money would go towards the cost of getting it fixed. I asked what the maximum cost would be he said $400. So they diagnosed my vehicle and said the part is $600 and I had 2 weeks to decide. I believe this is a safety issue and I shouldn't have to pay anymore money to have this fixed. I have talked to many people with the same problem. I believe Toyota should correct this safety issue before someone gets killed! a horn can make a life or death difference.

Takata recall for almost eight months my car horn has not been working. I cannot inspect it without the car horn working! no one will touch it! it's like my car has a disease and no one wants to be corrupted or something. I saw on a tv program called fraud squad about how when a airbag is deployed some components in and around the airbag are affected to the point of failure. I've only had the car two years and the most important thing, the inspection/registration sticker cannot be had! I feel very much let down by the dealership I acquired this car from. I got it from fort bend Toyota in rosenberg. It's gonna take me many years to pay this car paid off and already I may have to jury rig it and void every warranty ever. My warranty went out, they asked me to re-up it, I didn't, and boom, I'm screwed! where can I go to get help with this? I am lucky I have not been ticketed yet.

Horn failed to honk when needed. It did not work while vehicle was in motion on a highway, it did not work on a city street, it did not work parked in my driveway. The wire became separated and there was a void, the wire cover stayed intact until I removed the connector from the horn. I had to connect a new wire from the existing wire and reconnect to the horn. All is fine now.

. . To whom it may concern. A relative of mine received a recall letter on my behalf from Toyota for my vehicle. My relative said he sent it to me by mail. I contacted Toyota really concerned because out of nowhere my air bag light came on, my cruise control stopped working and horn. I have had a recall before which was serviced in August of 2011. I decided to contact Toyota about the letter and if it was okay to take in car without letter. They ran my VIN# and stated that the recall for my car has been serviced. I asked why I received a letter of recall and why out of nowhere my car is starting to have some malfunctions that can be a risk to my life. I no longer feel safe in this vehicle. The rep at Toyota said to go in to service center-but I do not have the money to pay out of pocket. I need help and would like this resolved for the safety of my family and my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The vehicle alarm would not operate on the vehicle and all of the interior lights failed. The dealer made repairs to the vehicle unknown to the contact. After the repairs were made to the vehicle, she noticed that the horn would not operate. She attempted to contact the dealer to make another appointment, to no avail. The dealer would not honor her request to inspect the vehicle. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure and current mileages were 1,652. Updated 04/16/10. Updated 05/10/jb.
The car was bought new from the dealer in CA. No problems were incountered until the horn became intermittent and then stopped working completely. I brought the cat to a Toyota dealer in south carolina to have it repaired while it was under warrenty. A year later the horn has become inoperative once again. This is the second time the same component has stopped working.
