A water leak was identified in the front left pillar from the support handle. It was sent in to olympia Toyota who believed that body work was needed. The vehicle was then transferred to titus Toyota in tacoma. The assessment in tacoma was very different than that in olympia, and the vehicle was sent in to repair without first making contact with the owner. The assumption is that water is leaking in through a defect in the roof railing system. Multiple alerts have deployed: air bag warning, pre-collision system warning, lighting warning. The extent of the water leak has not been identified, and has likely compromised these systems including the electrical system. Toyota USA also has a class action law-suit regarding their rav-4's, where there are consistent leaks due to the roof-rails, and this vehicle has a similar (but as yet unproven) design. I have attempted to contact Toyota USA and they have not replied.

In October of 2020, I scheduled an appointment for my airbag recalls at my local Toyota dealer (lia Toyota of colonie). My appointment was on October 22, 2020. After devoting a day to this, I was dismayed to learn that my vehicle could not be repaired because the parts were backordered. They said they would let me know when the parts were in. Several weeks went by, and I heard nothing. Then, I get a cryptic message from someone in their parts department, and gave me a number to call back. When I called the number, a man answered who said it was not lia Toyota, and that he'd been getting a lot of calls from people thinking they were calling lia Toyota. (the dealership did pick up when I called the number, and it was when I entered the choice to speak with the service department that the phone system then transferred me to some individual's mobile phone!) so, I then had to try a different route to contact the dealership and find out what was happening. This led to several calls where no one really knew what was happening. I finally got my original service manager to research the situation, and he said the parts were still on back order. Fast forward to December 15, 2020, and I texted their service department who informed me that 1 part was in, but another was still backordered. I then texted them today (Jan 29) and they said the parts were now in. So I am fairly certain that no one was ever going to follow up with me to notify me of this. It's been 3. 5 months, and customers' safety does not seem important to either Toyota or lia Toyota of colonie. I own several businesses, and customers' valuable time does not seem important to them either. I shouldn't have to work this hard to get a recall repair done.
As I came ro stop auto then pressed the accelerator the auto acted as if it didnt want to move but started out slow . This occured everytime I stopped and pressed to accell the auto. The auto was in motion , during turning.

Takata recall the takata recall website lists, among other vehicles, 2006 Toyota Sequoias. I have one of these. However, when I put my VIN into the online system, it indicates no recalls. I need specific assurance that I do not need to address this recall, please, since there may be a disconnect between the online recall-checking services and the takata-related website. Thanks.

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. The contact received a settlement postcard for the frame along with unknown recall notices regarding the air bags. The contact took the vehicle to butler Toyota (9419 aronson dr, indianapolis, in 46240, (317) 848-4210) several times to have the frame repaired; however, the air bags were repaired instead. This happened several times until the dealer stated that the settlement letter had expired. The contact stated that the frame was rusted from the inside out and was deteriorating rapidly. The dealer quoted a repair cost of $2,000 for an air suspension air bag that was not included in the recall. The cost to repair the frame was $3,000. The dealer did not include on the paperwork that the frame was the main reason the contact brought in the vehicle. The manufacturer stated that if the dealer had included the frame on the repair order, they would have taken care of the frame. The failure mileage was 230,000.
Was in wreck and rolled over multiple yimes and went thru windshield ended up in hospsital with brain injury.

Vsc vsc traction control lights comes on as well as the check engine light. The vehicle accelerates poorly. This makes for a very dangerous situation because the vehicle can slow dramatically at highway speeds. Lights go off for a little while when the battery is disconnected but all lights and acceleration problems return shortly. Owners have spent thousands of dollars replacing parts without a long term fix. Spouse will no longer drive the vehicle because of this dangerous problem. Totoya needs to fix this widespread problem.
Takata recall. Called a local Toyota dealer months ago who told me they would call when parts are available. Still waiting for a call. This airbag situation is dangerous and greatly limits the use of this vehicle as spouse will no longer drive it and I am able to use it on a limited basis. I know there is a backlog but NHTSA needs to force Toyota to fix these defective vehicles.

I have been recieving request of serious air bag defaults and to not drive my vehicle until it is fixed. It is my only vehicle. North georgia Toyota in dalton, GA has told me I am currently going to be on a waiting list. I asked how long, they rudely responded with " no idea, a month, two months, maybe longer. If we don't have the airbag we can't fix it. " I said that it appeared to be a very serious issue and life-threatening incidents have occurred. They replied, "give you a call when we get to your spot on the waiting list and have part. ".
