My vehicle is the subject of a recall for a defective takata airbag inflator. The vehicle was purchased in arizona a few years ago, and I live in san diego, CA. I have a vacation home in baja California sur, mexico. I keep the Toyota Sequoia at that home in mexico, about 900 miles from California. There is a Toyota dealer in san jose del cabo who could make the repair. I do not want to drive the vehicle 1800 miles round trip to the USA in order to have the repair done in the USA. Toyota has refused to allow its dealer in san jose del cabo to make the repair. I would like to have you to require Toyota to repair my vehicle purchased in the united states by a u. S. Citizen in mexico.

I received a letter from Toyota 2 weeks ago indicating the safety recall with the front passenger air bag inflators which were incorrectly manufactured and have the potential to fatally injure the passenger in the event they are deployed in an accident. To date, huntington Toyota of long island has not received the necessary parts to complete the repair for the recall and they have no idea when they will have the parts. I purchased an SUV because I obviously had a need for more seats and room. I use my truck daily transporting my children and their friends to various functions, otherwise I would have gotten a smaller vehicle. So Toyota's suggestion to vehicle owners to not use the passenger seat, is unacceptable. I am requesting that the necessary parts for this airbag be immediately sent to huntington Toyota for my vehicle. I have 3 Toyota vehicles and have been a long time customer, but if this matter is not rectified to my satisfaction, I will no longer consider Toyota vehicles for future purchase.

Takata recall. I received 2 recall notices within the last year about air bag inflators. I took my car to a local Toyota twice but without any parts being replaced. The most recent notice I got is still about airbag inflator. In the letter, it says the inflator on my car needs to be replaced regardless of the inspection results. Well I took my car to a local Toyota dealership, they inspected it and told me my car is fine, and no replacement is necessary. Please confirm if my car is affected with the takata airbag recall, thanks.

I received a safety recall notice to inspect the front passenger airbag inflator module back in 2013. Upon taking the above vehicle to the simi valley Toyota dealer for this inspection, the manager informed me that they did not have to inspect my airbag inflator module. In 2014 I received another safety recall notice to inform me that this front passenger airbag inflator module now needed to be replaced, but they did not have the parts to do so. The Toyota corporation stated they would inform me when the parts were available. In 2015 I received another safety recall notice to inform me that they had the parts and that I could go to any Toyota dealer to have this replacement done. On June 18, 2015, I contacted the simi valley Toyota dealership to set up an appointment to comply with the safety recall notice. I was advised that they would not have that part in until Friday, June 26, 2015. I made an appointment for June 26, 2015 and dropped my car off to have the airbag inflator module replaced. Six hours later, I was contacted to pick up my car and informed that they did not replace the front passenger airbag inflator module-they only inspected it. I was informed by the manager that my airbag did not need to be replaced per their records. I asked for a copy of their records, but the manager stated she could not provide me with anything to support that only an inspection of the module was needed-instead of the replacement per the safety recall notice from the Toyota corporation. I showed the manager my copy of the recall notice, but she still maintained that it only needed to be inspected-not replaced. I am concerned that simi valley Toyota dealership is not complying with the safety recall notices properly. I am also concerned that any front passenger in my car could be injured! please advise how to proceed with safety recall.
Takata recall - the Toyota airbag inflator recall was dated June 16, 2015 and as of August 23, 2016, Toyota still has not repaired our vehicle. The dealer says that the part has been ordered but they do not know when it will arrive. How many years are we supposed to wait to have this dangerous situation fixed?.

The consumer stated the dealer only inspected the vehicle and informed her the air bag inflator did not need to be replaced. However, according to the letter the consumer received, it stated the air bag inflator would be replaced regardless of the inspection results.
Takata inflators , was notified almost a year ago . Have not received a recall appt. , to fix problem. Passenger cant not seat in front .
I received a safety recall. It is taking way to long to get part in. We are instructed not to operate vehicle with occupants in front passenger seat. It has been months since I received recall. When can I expect the airbag inflator? it is very inconvenient to perform my daily activities.
I received a safety recall notice from Toyota which told me I must have the airbag inflator module replaced. Called the glendora, CA. Toyota dealer to make an appointment. He called me back to say he got the part in. I took the car in, left the car for 7 hours only to be told that my car didn't need the module. The letter said that I must replace the module and recommended that I do not operate the vehicle with occupants in the front passenger seat until the remedy is performed. What do I do? my car is not safe! please help me.
In April, 2013 Toyota announced a safety recall to inspect and, if necessary, replace the front passenger airbag inflator. It has been 2 years, Toyota has not authorized the Toyota dealerships to perform this defect.
No incident or accident this is regards to a recall notice for the airbag inflator module. I received the notice to have this part replaced but I was told by Toyota that the part is not available in my region. So I have a part that is a safety problem and Toyota can not get the part to replace it. Helpful. No date given as to when available. Helpful.
I received a d3f recall notice from Toyota in the spring. I contacted the dealer about having the repair made and was told as late as July 31, the replacement part was not available. Recently the e04 recall notice was sent out, along with millions of other recall notices, for the same part. My car was not included in the eo4 recall notice. However the eo4 recall notice superseded my recall notice, so I have been informed that all of the cars covered under the eo4 notice will receive the replacement part that I have been waiting for before my car, because of the severity of the issue associated with the eo4 notice. However, the d3f notice had the following wording "in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the passenger seat occupant or other occupants. " this seems to be pretty much the same issue as the eo4 notice. In addition, because I'm not covered under the eo4 notice, the dealership will not even deactivate my passenger side airbag. They just suggest that I might not want to let anyone ride in my front passenger seat until they get the replacement part for my car - which will most likely be years! this is an unreasonable expectation. If they are unable to get the replacement part from the original manufacturer, they need to find an alternate source and seek remedial action after they have corrected the safety issues in the cars they have sold. Regardless of who manufactured the faulty part, Toyota has a corporate responsibility to safeguard the people who buy their products from harm due to their product - not suggest that they "suck it up" and make everyone ride in the back for an unspecified amount of time.
On the year 2013 I went to this Toyota dealer: adriel auto carr 693 km 1. 0, cruce DE la virjencita, dorado, pr 00646, united states phone:(787) 626-3838 hours: open today · 7:00 am – 7:00 pm in order to replace and complete safety recall for front passenger airbag inflator module. In about 15 minutes after coming in, I was told it was not needed to be replaced. This Friday 24th October 2014 I returned after receiving another one of your warning letters letting me know it was never completed as directed in the prior letter they were shown by me that day. I waited for 6 hours before being told by the mechanic, not the representative that took care of me first, that after bringing the whole airbag system down on that side, they realized they did not have the parts necessary to make the replacement possible. Now, I am supposed to wait until they call me to have this done "sometime later".
As evidenced in the 11-9-11 new Toyota commercial, this is exactly why Toyota went to congress to remove 8 to 10 leaking cylinders of toxic, flammable inflators voluntarily from their vehicles. As we all know all inflators in the airbag are made the same, you should never see a foreign recall without its american model. With the new "upper cut" design displayed in the commercial, all the previous defects have been recreated in this model. This will make "insert & deploy" and "blow it out of the womb" worse. This model will hit the soft tissue just under the protective rib cage and deploy the explosive up into the splean and diaphram. It is still a "soft tissue issue". They designed this from the model with chamber breach while a solid rocket generant, now it is filled with gas mix unidentified. Every year we haz this problem, from October to January they decide what haz whooping gas they will fill with in the new model released in January. Next they will decide the solid rocket generant from January to March. Autoliv has increase the size of the leaking cylinder in the passenger seat. As trended previously, side curtain guillotines trap the head in the force and direction of the crash and repeatedly whip customers when door structure haz been compromised. They do not test or file msds for the proprietary mix. In previous years it haz been argon, helium, xeon, and neon. All toxic and flammable as hell and mixed together without reactive tests performed or tempurature tests performed. These models have released from the plant year after year with a 100% failure rate on the inflator component. The cylinders leak in extreme temperatures in winter and summer, and the inflator casings have never been able to contain the solid load. Spontaneous deployment is possible 100% of the time in both solid and gas models. The interim I left will not work. Inert.
