In March 2016, I had - for the first time - the vsc trac, vsc off, brake, and abs lights on instrument panel come on. . . All 4 on at once. Then again, today, I had the vsc trac, vsc off, and brake lights come on. A known issue for both Sequoia and tundra models, owners have tried to get a recall. Many thoughts online about what causes this; it appears it's a faulty skid control unit (ecu unit). Says the ecu will take the vehicle into a "safe" mode and limit output power and acceleration, until this is resolved. I experienced this today after the lights came on. Others online say might be a bad brake fluid sensor, brake pedal switch or oxygen sensor. However, overwhelmingly it seems to be a faulty ecu and this is a very expensive electronic part ($2,300)!.

Yes, we just purchased this used 04 seqouia from a private party seller and everything was fine the first month we drove it then the vsc light and the trac off light came on. Now the check engine light is on and we had it tested at autozone for free. The testing showed a bad O2 sensor. The car still drives fine its just the lights are on. Its really irritating. I googled it and read a bunch of customer complaints about this same issue. I read that the 03 seqouias were recalled for these issues.

The rear window motor and window tracks have rusted completely. The motor has failed and the window tracks are completly rusted away. The window is not unoperable. There is a short in the O2 sensor wiring underneath the vehicle. There is currently a recall on the above vehicle regarding frame rust. I believe that the above complaints are directly related to the rust issues that this vehicle has.

Hi I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia sr5, and the vsc trac, vsc off and check engine came on all at once, took it to auto parts store and they ran the scanner it said to change the O2 sensor, wich I did and nothing changed, I have read about this problem that has been coming up quiet a lot in this model, can you tell me if there is a recall for this problem, I went to the dealer and they told me that there was not any recall related to this issue.
2003 Toyota Sequoia. (cel) light on. Also (trac off) light on as well as (vsc trac) light on. Sometimes brake light and abs light stay on for days . I had truck in shop 3 wks ago with this problem they said it was oxygen sensor 2 (I believe) had is replaced and light went off. Light is back on again 2 weeks later. Car sputters when accelerating. Doesn't feel safe to drive. Also 2 months prior I had the car in for routine maintenance. Fluids, filters, tires rotated, ect as usual.
The vsc trac light has been on (showing it is off), along with the check engine light. Occasionally the brake light comes on too while driving. Today the abs light came on. The only code that is coming up is for a weak O2 sensor.
In 2007, took my 2003 Sequoia to the dealer because the vsc lights came on. The dealer replaced the oxygen sensor. Now a year later, the vsc lights came on again. I have now have been told that the skid control computer needs to be replaced at a cost of $1650.
The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The contact stated that 3 years ago the vsc tracking and the check engine light would illuminate on the instrumental panel prior to the vehicle accelerating and causing the vehicle to spin out of control. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer who informed the contact that she needed to replace the oxygen sensor, gasket, and the entire instrument panel. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable.
Check engine light, vsc trac and trac off indicator lights would stay on whenever the vehicle key is in the on position. Dealer first say O2 sensor. Second attempt dealer says defective ecu needed to be replaced.
