The airbag light on dash flashes on and off at start of engine and continues while car is running. After researching this problem I quickly found out this is a known issue with numerous complaints. I also understand that if airbag light is flashing that airbags are not going to deploy in event of frontal impact. I feel this is safty issue and the manufacturer should recall these vehicles.

Takata recall(?) my husband bought me a 2017 Toyota Sienna in February 2019, it was previously a rental. The van was immaculate and only had about 20,000 miles at time of purchase. On or about March 8, 2019 we were on our way to dinner at about 9 p. M. I was approaching a red light, foot on the brake, maybe 15 mph and I looked down for a second and ended up rear ending a vehicle and in the end there were 3 vehicles besides mine involved (4 total). There was significant damage to my van, the plastics crumpled and it appeared to have no major damage outside of the plastics. The air bags did not deploy despite the front end collision. At the body shop, upon tear down the passenger side rail was damaged as well as the air bag sensors were crushed. One would think if the sensors were crushed the air bags would have deployed prior. In order to replace the sensors it would require a new wiring harness and to replace that would require removal of engine and transmission. My $26,000 2017 Sienna with less than 50,000 miles was totaled. The airbags should have deployed and didnt. There was no hard hit and no significant damage to other vehicles (rear bumpers) or to my husband or myself. My first concern is the air bags not deploying, the second is having had the van totaled over a minor rear end collision .

The airbag like came on and has not gone off. Had mechanic check it and was told that the squib circuit had a short and that if in an accident airbags will not deploy. Dealer said it could cost up to $2600 to fix. After some research, I have found that there are a lot of other Sienna owners with this same problem. Why has Toyota not recalled this, because it sounds like a manufacturing issue and consumer should not have to pay that kind of money for there faulty product. Now because of this faulty equipment I have no choice but to drive an unsafe vehicle because I can not afford that kind of money to repair.

Air bags did not deploy in a front end collision. We were traveling at about 65mph on the interstate when another vehicle lost control, wrecked, and came to a complete stop in our lane and facing us. My husband braked hard but we could not avoid the vehicle. We truly have no idea how fast we were going at impact but I would guess 30-40 mph. It had just started raining lightly prior to the accident. Seat belts and god saved us. No major injuries.

Our 2016 Sienna which we purchased last may accelerated on it's own on 2/16/2017 going through our south outside wall and master bathroom of our house. My husband left the van in the driveway, unloaded the groceries, then got back into the van, started it, put his foot on the brake, shifted to drive and with his foot on the brake the van accelerated into the the garage. We have an extended garage which had an office area and it proceeded to push the oak desk through the south east outside wall and master bath. As it continued to accelerate and burn rubber on our finished garage floor, with his foot still on the brake slammed it into reverse. The Sienna shot out of the garage, headed down our drive, into our lawn and over our winter snow stakes. Knowing it was not stopping and the brakes were not working other than letting him put the car into gear, he once again slammed it into drive. The Sienna shot into the garage a second time, hitting the s. E. Wall and yet again continued to burn rubber on our floor as it pushed the desk further though the wall. Once again, completely beside himself my husband slammed it into reverse and when outside it finally stopped after he stomped on the breaks with all his might! the air bag did not deploy nor did the brakes every begin to work to slow it down. We will never drive this vehicle again and it is being stored at carlson Toyota until we know what Toyota headquarters intends to do about this problem. We also need to know what we are to do beings our Sienna was paid for and now it is worthless to us.
I was traveling west on rt 202 (butler blvd) in jacksonville, FL. My speed was 65mph and I was in the middle lane. I was driving and my son, christopher, who is disabled was sitting in the middle row center in his wheelchair which was anchored to the floor by four tie-downs. A car trying to pass us in the outside left lane hit my vehicle in the drivers side rear and caused us to spin in the roadway. After we came out of the spin we hit the concrete barrier dividing the roadway. My vehicle was totaled with extensive damage to front and frame. My son and I were slightly injured but not treated on the scene. My airbags did not deploy? not the ones in the front or the side airbags did not deploy? this is a conversion accessible vehicle that has been altered from the original. I have re-purchased the same type of vehicle and I want to be sure that the airbags are working? Toyota has already pulled the "black box" and started their investigation. I just want to be sure that I get the "true" cause of why the airbags did not deploy?.

Air bag warning continuously flashes when the car is on. Mechanic tried to reset it but it goes right back to flashing when the car is restarted. No accidents, this began at 114,000 miles. Concerned airbag will not deploy on impact, or will deploy randomly because it is faulty. The VIN shows there is no recall but isn't this a safety issue when hundreds have reported the same problem?.

I am curious to why the airbags did not deploy from an accident.
Driver is not required to fasten seat belt due to a problem wiring or failure of the seat belt latch. Worried that the airbag will not deploy in a crash.

I was in an accident where a majority of my front end was completely damaged. In fact the bumper was completely taken off with significant other damage which I have pictures off. Neither airbag deployed. Fortunately I was ok and did not sustain any injuries. I am just surprised by the size of the impact that the airbags did not deploy.

I was traveling in an area surrounded by construction barrels trying to navigate my turn. The person in front of me stopped suddenly, and I hit him in the rear. The vehicle sustained almost $9000 worth of damage, however was not totaled. The airbag did not deploy. We asked Toyota for an explination, and they finally sent a third party to investigate. We were sent the download of the crash data recorder, but no explination of what it meant, and Toyota determined that the airbag was not faulty, even though the crash data recorder shows I hit someone front-to-rear traveling 38 miles per hour. After waiting 3 months on Toyota, we finally gave up and are having the vehicle repaired. I have a chronic neck condition which was not caused by the accident but was greatly aggrevated and made more painful from the accident. We have asked Toyota for an explinaton of the data from the recorder, but have not been provided one, only sent a letter stating Toyota was not at fault and that injuries such as mine aren't proven to be prevented by the airbag.
I was driving down I-95 to florida from nc, traveling 70 mph in the left lane when I noticed a car coming up from behind driving almost on the center line. I stayed in my lane and the car came up and impacted the right side of my vehicle, rotating the car 90 degrees and sending me and my family off the interstate onto the right shoulder. The side airbag did not deploy even though the point of impact resulted in damage to the passenger and side doors of the minivan.
