I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna ,the drivers side door started making popping sound a few months ago and as the time as gone by it is getting worse and worse. The noise is coming from the door check welds that were welded improperly and the main structure of the door is affected by it. Researched the issue and it is a common problem on my type of car, Toyota has recognized this problem which affected 600,000 Sienna's and issued a warranty enhancement program in 2007 but it ended a few years ago. Took it to Toyota dealership, they refused to fix the problem because my VIN # is not affected by the warranty enhancement and even if my VIN # was affected, its too late to take advantage of any help from Toyota. I have called Toyota corporate, they know all about the issue and will not help me either. Everyone from techs, service advisors and mangers they all knows the problem exist but will not fix it because they want the consumer to pay for it. The only reason my VIN is not affected is because not enough people have reported this common problem. This same vehicle is also affected by dash crack problem, for years I have complained about it now finally Toyota will fix this issue for free.

The plastic on the dashboard is cracking as if it was slashed with a razor knife. I looked up the problem on the internet and numerous sites have people reporting the problem going back to 2004 models. The Toyota dealer service department just says the van is out of warranty and the cracks are due to age (which they probably are to some degree) but present no safety issues. I refute that claim. If the dash is cracking then I assume the integrity of the airbag system is compromised. Have older Siennas been tested that have a cracking dashboard? my wife's 2000 avalon also has a plastic dash and it is not cracking at all. Neither are my two sons old 4runners or my daughters 2005 Sienna. I'm very concerned about the front airbags and their proper deployment in an accident.

In my 2004 Toyota Sienna xle limited awd, the upper dashboard(by the windshield & front airbags is cracking. I am highly concerned that these cracks will interfere with proper deployment of the front airbags in an accident situation. Also the upper dashboard may break apart in an accident situation and become airborne causing further injury to vehicle passengers. I have contacted Toyota and was told it was only covered for 36,000 miles or 3 years despite the fact it can pose a safety issue. In researching the internet, I found other 2004-2007 Toyota & Lexus owners are having the same issue with the cracked dashboard. . Read more...

Dash board cracks look like done by a very sharp knife everywhere across the dash board. May interfere with proper deployment of air bag and is a safety hazard.
I just learned that there were many complaints in regards of multiple cracks on the vehicle dash. I confronted the dealer regarding the same they stated that I was in need of placing a complaint about it in way for them to consider the same and authorize a repair. The very same day I wanted to place the complaint and they stated that the same is in a "suspense status". I just went through the complaints here reported and noted it is a recurrent vehicle manufacturer damage. I believe if I, as owner, followed the instrucions of not using any conditioner or any abbrassive cleaner but a mild soap and water with a damp cloth, the dash is coming appart as it is. I also think this should be considered as a safety hazard because of being the dash where the airbags are stored, when deployed on an accident could cause also the the dash to crack and its pieces be a projectile object.

We had the recall concerning dashboard melting and cracking 2 years ago. Our vehicle dashboard has been melting for about 4-5 years now and it also started to crack on either side. As soon as we received the recall notice, we took our vehicle to the dealers 2 years ago. They took measurement for our vehicle dashboard and we were told the product for replacement is not available, as soon it is available they will call us. We have called multiple times to the dealership and it is still not ready to this day (fort bend Toyota dealership in sugar land, TX). The car smells, we are unable to use this vehicle as the smell of melted rubber inside the vehicle causing breathing issues for all of us especially our child who has breathing issues. How long should I wait for a replacement parts? it has already been 2 years and we have called the dealer multiple times. Our secondary warranty extension expires next March 2018. Once this date comes around, are we out of options to get replacement under this re-call? I need solution immediately or take the vehicle back and give us our money back!! can someone please help us. Thank you.

I am the original owner of a Toyota Sienna le 2004 that currently has 58k miles and is kept in garage under cover. Recently I noticed that the dashboard started to crack in several places. The cracks opened in the plastic top of the dashboard over the clocks panel and near the air conditioner exits. I want to know if there is any recall from Toyota USA company regarding this matter or if this defect has been reported by any other consumers with this model of Toyota vehicle. I would appreciate your investigation and notify me of any information you find.
Cracks in dashboard from door to door . . . . Our Sienna has been garaged for about two years and has about 83k miles on it. A short while ago we noticed that there was a crack line in the dashboard material that was along the line where the material connects to the instruments panel unit, the rnetertianment unit, and the glove box area. Upon closer examination we found the cracks stretch to the dashbaord area that wrpas around to the closed doors on both sides. This material must be defective because this vehicle has been well takn care of and is mostly garaged. I've never had a vehicle do this before.
Crack developed on dash in an area between instrument cluster and radio. This is an area not exposed to elements (sun, heat, etc. ). Vehicle is garaged and maintained and would not be susceptible to a crack.
