1 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2020 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 11/16/2020

The fuel pump needs replaced and has been recalled. The recall can cause an increased risk of a crash. We still haven't had this replaced in a timely manner and it's not safe for my small children.

2 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2019 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 11/04/2020

My fuel pump has been replaced by the dealer with the recalled part. The vehicle still does the same thing it has been doing since purchasing. It acts like it is not getting gas so hesitates multiple times constantly while driving. Sometimes I pull out and there is a delay in the engine getting gas then it kicks in and is a jerky ride. It mostly happens below 45 mph. I have felt the delay occasionally above 55 mph. The problem is not the fuel pump that they are recalling since I already have the new one and the problem is not fixed.

3 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2020 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

This vehicle is owned by emory university. Emory university was notified last year (October) that the low pressure fuel pump may stop operating. To date, there has been no repair offered by Toyota. 2020 Toyota Sienna as such emory university will not let us operate it until it has been repaired. Nearly six months later, no repair.

4 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2015 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 08/26/2020

The fuel pump intermittently fails. Sometimes it won't start at all, sometimes it starts but the engine stumbles before it shuts off, and sometimes the engine will just shut off while accellerating on the road. Toyota has diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump and are in the process of replacing it at my cost.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2019 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

I lease a 2019 Toyota Sienna. There has been a recall since January, 2020 on the fuel pump which may cause the car to stop operating and could increase the risk of a crash. Toyota has not still not remedied the recall. I have called for the past five months, and yet the recall is still in the interim stage. This is a breach of the lease and causes us to be unable to use the vehicle. Due to the danger in driving the car, I contacted 4 different Toyota dealers to obtain a comparable rental car that Toyota has agreed to provide. Not one of the dealerships I called has a comparable car in their fleet. I also called Toyota customer experience twice and on both occasions they hung up on me stating that their agents were "too busy". In addition, this has caused us to cancel a road trip.

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2017 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 05/20/2020

Vehicle exhibits periods of rough acceleration, chugging, and hesitation. After 3 trips to different Toyota dealers they refuse to address problem. A massive recall of Toyota fuel pumps is underway on several vehicles including 2017 Sienna's but dealerships claim my 2017 Sienna is not on list. I've lived with this for 3 years and my vehicle is till under warranty with less than 18,000 miles on it. Happens whenever vehicle is used. Dealerships won't test it as they have to drop gas tank.

7 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2018 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 05/05/2020

We received notice from Toyota of a possible failure in the vehicle's fuel pump for which there is no current fix available. The vehicle is parked in the garage. Nothing happened. My concern is that there's no data available about the frequency of these failures, so it's impossible for me to assess the risk of driving our only car.

8 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2013 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 01/16/2019

Fuel pump sometimes stop working intermittently, which could lead to a sudden stall or hesitation while driving. The problem increases the risk of a crash, especially when the my Sienna van is traveling at a high speed. When fuel pump fails, I notice that the vehicle's engine starts running rough and that warning lights may appear on the dashboard. The engine might not restart if it stalls.

9 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2012 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 10/30/2015

All underwood components are not only vulnerable, but attractive to rodents. While parked overnight on 4 consecutive nights, rodents have chewed through wires despite attractive rodent poison in the engine bay, the poison is untouched and the wires are attacked every night. To date injector wires, sensor sires, fuel pump wires have been compromised, including sensors for the stability control system, which is disabled. I repaired damage by running new wires, clearing nests and set traps and poison, but now the the fuel system has been attacked and the fuel pump does not activate. 3 other cars parked in the same location for the past 5 months are untouched. Safety systems are likely to be compromised for any person who must park these outdoors.

10 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2008 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 12/21/2014

This is regards to my 2008 Toyota Sienna le fwd 8 passenger minivan. On 12/21/2014 my van dropped dead in the middle of busy gunbarrell rd in chattanooga TN. Following up with the diagonostics on the vehicle it was detected that the fuel pump had failed. Since I bought this vehicle as certified used from Toyota in 03/2010 I was confident that this part is covered but to my frustration - Toyota said the fuel pump is classified as an electrical system and unfortunately other than their hybrid models it is not covered by any type warranty. Upon researching multiple websites, chat forums, and among registered Toyota owners it came to my understanding/conclusion that the Toyota Sienna models from 2007 to 2010 had numerous fuel pump, pulleys, and brake drum issues. The vehicles affected had total miles ranging from 20k to 130k. New vehicles with failing fuel pumps and not covered under warranty - shocking. It is my understanding that without a fuel pump no vehicles can run and it is very unfortunate to see that automakers classify it as an electrical item and the NHTSA sadle agrees with it. This repair costed me over $600 for parts and labor. If I were to use the Toyota dealership for parts and service it would have costed me over $900 ( via 3 estimates from dealerships) through this letter I am kindly requesting an investigation to the fuel pump issues for Toyota Sienna from model year 2007 onwards so a proper warranty coverage, warnings can be provided to registered owners.

11 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2008 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 04/01/2014

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was unable to restart and was towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed that the fuel pump resister needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

12 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2008 Toyota Sienna

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

All of the sudden when I was driving on the highway (2008 Sienna limited awd) last two week it suddenly stopped while I was driving at 75 mph. With not prior signs of malfunction before the incident. I tried to start it up but it didn't work. (August 1, 680 south bond al costa blvd is where my car broke down) so we towed the car to the sunnyvale Toyota. They said they would give us a report of what went wrong . Turns out the fuel pump doesn't work, and they don't know why because it is a independent part, I consulted a professional auto mechanic for a second opinion. He said that it usually doesn't happen unless your car is over 10 years old. I called the Toyota headquarters to file a complaint but they said it wasn't a very "big" problem and didn't follow up with me and said I have to call my own dealer only. And that it was perfectly safe for me to pull over with the left over momentum. I was not satisfied with their answer and I found it weird that its breaking down already. With only 30,000 miles and 2 years new. Not only that when they returned the car to us, they decided to mention to us that apparently not only is the fuel pump not working apparently the battery rotted too. They said that all the liquid in the battery leaked out so they had to change it also. I am not pleased that they decided to tell me this when they returned the car to me not before when they told me the fuel pump was not working. I am not pleased with the quality of Toyota, and do not feel safe driving my car around.
