I started to notice when you would stop at a red. Light and apply the brakes the pedal would slowly ease off like it had air in the brake line. This went on for a couple of months. I had a doctors appointment and when I got to the office and was pulling in the parking space I pressed the brake and it went to the floor so I pressed the second time and the same thing I didn't have time to try the third time because I hit the concrete wall and did approximately $5200 damages to my vehicle. The engine has a noise in engine compartment on the passenger side that sounds like a lifter making a noise that can be herd over the engine running. The brake problem I believe has to do with the booster.

I start up the truck and pull out in to the street. Whether at an intersection or making a turn, I push on the accelerator and nothing happens. The rpms don't increase, engine makes no sound - and I am left sitting in the middle of the road. I push the accelerator to the floor and eventually the engine comes to life and the truck moves forward. Happens more often than not when the vehicle is "cold" - within the first 20-30 minutes of operation. The accelerator is not linked directly to the engine through a cable but is a drive by wire. I have maintained my Tacoma meticulously since purchase including tune ups, oil changes, etc. I have cleaned the mass air flow sensor with no change. The problem still persists. It is very dangerous to be in the middle of an intersection with a vehicle that has lost power.

I was driving straight away going up a slight hill on the hwy excelling and pressing the gas pedal when the power suddenly dropped and went down to 20 mph while I pressed the gas pedal even more the engine sounded like it was revving but the speed stayed at 20 mph or less. - the check engine light, vsc & trac lights all came on. I immediately pulled over and decided to turn around and not continue up the hill. While driving on the straight away (still on the hwy) the vehicle's speed improved a little but only in spurts- going upwards to 40 mph then falling again to 20 mph at least 3 times in the 20 minute drive home. The vehicle sounded and felt like it was straining for power. All of the fluids, oils etc. . Was filled and in good standings- this vehicle is only 6 months old and has 4434 miles on it. I took the vehicle to the Toyota dealer the very next day and they found that this was a manufacturing problem. The codes p2445 and p2441 was found faulty and was replaced- in the report it was stated that the car is down, considered unsafe to drive because the vehicle may go into limp mode for this condition while driving. I am submitting a portion of the report with my personal information covered.

When at cruising speed between 45-65 mph the steering wheel will begin to shake back and fourth/shimmy. Also at these speeds the engine begins to make noise compared to up and down revving sound it is mild sound maybe a 1000rpm change but the rpm gauge is not moving. Reminder this is in cruse mode.

For at least 2 mos previous I would hear a chirping noise from the engine compartment. It would get louder as you accelerated & seamed more noticeable in warmer weather. Took vehicle in to dhc torrance Toyota & said it was my idler bearings. I thought that was odd since the truck only has 37400 miles. It cost me over $800. 00.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. While trying to park the vehicle in reverse, it completely shut off. The vehicle restarted minutes later. Five thousand miles later, the contact stopped at a traffic light and the engine made a loud revving noise, jerked forward, and the vehicle stalled. The engine and the oil light illuminated during each failure. He took the vehicle to the dealer on three occasions, but they could not duplicate the failures. The manufacturer stated that they would open an investigation. The speed was unknown. The failure mileage was 900 and current mileage was 17,000.
