1 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 02/15/2017

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. While making left and right turns, the vehicle made an abnormal noise. The origin of the noise could not be determined. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the frame was rusted, and the stabilizer bar, passenger side steering rod, struts, and shocks needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 141,678.

2 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 06/18/2012

Despite washing, scraping/wire brushing, spot priming and painting the truck frame once per year, the frame from just in front of the axel, all the way forward, both sides, is severely corroded. The front cross piece is totally disintegrated. The "incident" is that the corrosion is so bad that the front stabilizer bar mount, driver's side, has torn away from the frame. Further inspection shows that the frame in the engine compartment area needs total replacement/extensive repair. This appears to be the same frame corrosion problem supposedly addressed by Toyota in the 1990 to 2004 vehicles. But Toyota is not issuing recalls or "customer programs" for 2005 Tacoma's and newer. Since the box sectioned frame rusts from the inside out, the severity of the problem is not apparent until it is too late - when a catastrophic frame failure can happen - as with the failure of my stabilizer bar. Toyota needs to address this frame issue immediately. Can you imagine if an axel mount or engine mount failed on the highway? this vehicle is only 6 years old, this is insane!.

3 Front Suspension Stabilizer Bar problem of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 11/05/2005

Just bought 2005 Tacoma prerunner double cab 4x2 trd off road vehicle after driving it for a couple of days when driving on the highway and reach speed between 60 to 72 mph the vehicles sways back and forth like a patch of wind is pushing the vehicle or when passing a semi truck the vehicle will sway back and forth. Brought back to dealer mechanic said that is a common problem now with this vehicle and there is no fix for it. This is a serious problem which can cause an accident at high speeds. Its like the wind is blowing the vehicle from side to side. Don't know if Toyota is aware of the problem but I would appreciate if this could be investigated and reported to Toyota for a recall and fix this serious problem. I have been searching for a fix to this problem with no success as of yet.
