- engine throttle went into wide open throttle causing the unintended acceleration in traffic - the truck was doing about 45mph the passing gear came on and a second I was doing 60mph I quickly applied full pressure on the brakes and the car did not slow down at all, the truck failed to stop or slow down and was getting closer to the vehicle in front, it was in the expressway. My only thought was too press the on off button and instantly shut down the passing gear and slowed down. _ the vehicle was dropped of at the dealer for 2-weeks and was inspected no problem found. - there were no warning lamps messages on the screen or voice message at all. I am afraid to drive this vehicle it became a runaway wild horse. If I didn`t react in milliseconds I would of hit the car in front at a high rate of speed causing damage to everyone. I took pictures after right after having full control of the truck. All the record of my complaints of the Tacomas drive train started more than 1 1/2 years ago the records are the facts of Toyotas negligence. I have total fear and don`t trust this truck with my life. Please check the recorded dealer is doral Toyota and you can speak with the service manager tony herrera(786) 569-5121 therrera@doraltoyota. When filling truck at any gas pump or station the pump will not shut off before shoots out from filling port. Gasoline will shoot onto my hand and clothing if at full flow at pump. I have adapted to slow pump to trickle at 11-12 gallons or near full. It will still eject gasoline but less amount and less velocity. Has been evaluated at dealer but they noted two other Tacomas do same so noted not a problem. This is my first vehicle that has ever done this. If I was a smoker this would be huge fire risk if gasoline gets on my clothing. This is not normal.
This vehicle stalled while driving. It would totally shut off. Once at 75 mph no warning just shut off. Had a cylinder misfire according to dealership. On 2 other occasions it shut off while driving. On those occasions I was backing up out of a driveway and driving slow on a drive. So very slow speeds. On those 2 occasions it had engine stall codes according to dealership. I filed a lemon law claim and because it didn’t stall in the 58 miles the tech drove it tamara clear from gulf states determined there’s no evidence it stalls despite the local Toyota dealership having stall codes in their notes. Tamara clear also didn’t comply with arkansas lemon law and respond within 40 days. She took longer because she’s overwhelmed with cases according to her. Each time the vehicle totally shut off while driving it had master warning lights, charging system lights, oil fluid temp lights, all of it. I took pics but Toyota didn’t care about that either potentially fatal. And they expected me to drive around with a 6 year old in it.
When accelerating on highway check engine light started flashing and engine running rough. Pulled over and stopped vehicle turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle and light was out no longer running rough. Toyota dealer checked computer, cylinder #2 misfired 47 times & cylinder #3 misfired 3 times. They said they could not find what had created this problem and still charged me for engine diagnostics.

The truck has died while driving two separate times. It seems that the problem is the fuel pump, just like we now know have been recalled by Toyota in this model and others. The symptoms are exactly what have been reported by people experiencing faulty fuel pumps that are covered by the recall. My truck is not currently covered by the recall and Toyota is refusing to replace the fuel pump, saying that they can’t duplicate the problem after having the vehicle for a week. No resolution has been offered. Just, “sorry we can’t make it fail and we can’t replace it. ” I have spoken with Toyota corporate and got the same response. The company is not doing the right thing with this problem, as evidenced by the class action lawsuit ongoing. A major disappointment to say the least. I’m getting absolutely no help from dealer or manufacturer on a major safety issue on a vehicle in its power train warranty period on a known issue. Not even a loaner car.

My 2022 Tacoma has 1200 miles on it. While turning a corner I slowed down to make the turn when I pushed on the pedal to speed back up there was no response from the engine. It was dark outside and my dash lit up like the key was turned off. I kind of panicked and began pumping the pedal thinking I was out of gas. The fuel gage showed 3/4 an after 3 or 4 seconds it started back up. A week or so before I was at a red light when it turned green I tried to accelerate, the engine hesitated again like it was out of gas. I pumped the pedal but no response. After a few seconds it took off like a jet across the intersection and my foot was barely touching the pedal. Also while driving around 40-50 mph it feels like a stick shift vehicle that needs to be down shifted in a lower gear as there is a chunging feel which I think the transmission can't decide what gear to use. At those speeds it goes away if I manually move the shifter out of d into 4 or 5. Then it runs smooth. I took it to a Toyota dealer near my house on 1/3/2023 they said they could not duplicate the problem. I said it does not happen all the time. The tech said he reset my computer.

Vehicle made a loud bang from the rear of the vehicle , then started to slow down slightly without brakes applied. And then suddenly within a few more feet the rear wheels locked up without brakes applied. Traveling at between 35- 45mph the vehicle skidded causing vehicles behind me to also skid to avoid hitting me. Truck would not move from this position , I was stuck in the lane without a shoulder to move close to . I was shaken pretty bad, out of fear I popped the truck into reverse and the rear of the truck made a loud bang or loud pop noise. It wouldn’t move back so I put it back in drive and it made another bang noise and started to roll forward with a lot of resistance . There was no safe place to park, I was close to home so I continued home driving very slow with my hazard lights on . Please help. I towed the truck to servco kauai Toyota 9-23-2022, they did not look at the truck until 10-20-2022 almost a month it sat at the Toyota. I went home and checked online to see if anyone had the same problem and found tech. Bulletins and a recall for this problem, I did not receive a letter for this recall. I had no idea there was even a recall. Service advisor tim matteson and service manager aulani wersing told me my vehicle does not fall into the criteria of this recall. Service manager aulani said they are not part of servco and this dealership would not perform this recall because it is a maintenance issue ( what ?) please help . I towed my truck home , I m trying to sell my truck as is because the dealership gave me a quote of over $7000 to fix this problem. No one wants to buy my truck in this condition. Aloha eric inada.

My vehicle stalls (won't accelerate and rough idle) forcing you to roll off the highway without warning. This has happened multiple times while in cruise control going up steep hills. It shows engine misfire and check engine. I took it to the dealer multiple times and it was determined to be bad gas. I and my insurance company paid for this dealer (hatch Toyota show low az) for complete clean and replacement of the entire fuel system. Now 5 months later it is doing it again. The safety issue is the stalling in the middle of the highway where there is no way to get out of the way of traffic. I made sure I bought good gas by paying extra money at a new chevron gas station with new in ground tanks. But dealer claims bad gas again. That is a separate issue.
Fuel pump failure at 63k miles. Check engine light came on. P0171 code thrown. Truck began hard starting, and rough idling. Stalled on freeway, stuck at 4k rpm and would not drop. Had to pull off and restart. Checked entire system with certified independent service/aaa mechanic and fuel pump was diagnosed. Fuel pump whines in tank, and fuel trim levels are way off. . . Maxing out in output (39), and falling into the negatives in short term trim levels. All other components testing ok/within ranges. Massive recall on fuel pump for my exact same year/make/model/engine, but my VIN does not show as affected. . . Clearly it has the same issue. I need this pump fixed ASAP, as does everyone else affected that did not get to be apart of the recall.

Yes has been inspected by the manufacturer and they fixed it but I want to file a claim.
Full tank of fuel and dashboard is showing 30 miles until empty warning. I have received the engine warning ?? sign on my dashboard as well when this happens. This issue also affects me on the road when I am pressing the accelerator and the engine will not respond, this gas been an issue since they did the fuel pup recall. With a delay in acceleration comes a delay on the brake system as well, two intenses that I've had to press my foot as hard as possible on the brake to avoid a collusion with another vehicle. The last time this happened was on 4/17/2022.
The rear strap that holds the gas tank to the bottom of the truck broke. When it came loose on one side it dropped to the street and was bounced up and bent up against the flexible, rear brake line. The brake line was not cut. The strap end dragged on the street causing sparks. I had no idea what all the noise was coming from. I thought I might have a loose exhaust pipe. I drove it a couple days until I noticed the metal hanging down. I used a mirror to see what it was and took it in right away for replacement. It cost me $330. The bracket could have cut the brake line, or pierced the gas tank. The tank could have dropped and blown up. I have never heard of this problem before. I've had older pick ups for 40 years with no such problem.

The vehicle every time I fuel either does start afterwards or it would start and drive for about 3-6 minutes then it will stall. The very first time it happened was on the highway which I didn’t know why my car had stall but now that it has done it right at the fuel pump and also more often than not. I tried using other gas stations just to rule out bad fue but it has been like this for the past 6 month. I have taken it to Toyota mcdonough in georgia and they could not give a diagnostic because the check engine light does not stays on and they said they can’t replicate the problem.
The engine light and the track off warning light came on at the same time as I started the engine when I got off work. On the way home I noticed acceleration was not happening as it should when I pressed the gas pedal. I had a mechanic code it and he said it was the switching valve and the air injection pump which would cost about 1200 dollars to fix. My 2015 Toyota Tacoma only have 35000 miles on it. After during so research I found that this is a problem with other Toyota truck owners. This could be a safety problem while driving in a situation where you would need to accelerate in fast moving traffic and maintain speed without slowing the traffic behind you.

My truck lost drivability while I was going 60 I ran into a ditch to stop. It hads two codes . I took it in they replaced my rack n pinion. Check engine light came on . Mechanic said he could not work on it anymore because of the rust. To much corrosion he would be risking liability for other parts getting damaged because of all the rust. Took it to mike shaw to have frame tested. It passed they said. But I can’t find a mechanic to work on it but mike shaw and they’ll just keep charging for each item they don’t care.

To whom it may concern, I was issued a recall on this vehicle for a defective fuel pump. I have been attempting to rectify the situation through city world Toyota located at 3333 boston road, bronx, NY 10469. On 7/1/2021 I spoke with jorcelyn and was told the part needed to replace the defective component was not in stock and it would be ordered and available within a 4 weeks. I was told I would receive a call back and never did. On 8/9/2021, over a month later, I got in touch with wasile and was again told the part was not in stock. I was told they would check and then call back the following day. Again, I never received a call back. On 8/12/2021 I called again and was told they do not have the part in stock and would call back with an eta. It was been months since this recall was issued and city world Toyota has not rectified the issue. This vehicle has been unsafe to drive since the recall has been issued and I have been pleading with them to resolve it. The customer service standards as well as the regard for safety from city world Toyota has been abysmal. There is no doubt this establishment is blatantly ignoring these safety recalls for not only myself but many others as well.
Switching valve stuck open bank 1 and 2. Truck is in limp mode. Air pump is full of water.
2020 Toyota Tacoma trd sport, transmission lurks from reverse into drive you have to press the brake pedal a little harder than normal to keep from lurking. Sometimes the vehicle seems to loose power when down shifting while accelerating (going around a corner). The truck also seems like its hunting for a gear around the 35mph or 43 mph, on flat surface, going down hill, or going up hill. This also happens on the interstate while going 65-70mph, which would be cause for concern. This feels like its a transmission issue but also could be an engine misfire of a spark plug or something. This happens on a daily basis, purchase date of 9. 11. 2020.
Noticeable vibration when slowing down. It happens between 40mph to 0 mph. Slight vibration while accelerating from a stop to around 45mph. Engine also surges, and has trouble finding the correct gear while accelerating or decelerating. When put in neutral while slowing down, the vibration is not felt at all. Took the truck to the dealership, explained the issues. Was told nothing was mechanically wrong. They rotated my tires and did a front end alignment. The truck has just over 12k on it ! this is a disaster in the making.
Every so often I heard a bang coming from the drivetrain while I'm driving and also when I put the truck on reverse the sound it's loud. I don't know it's a transmission problem or the joints with the differential. But it's getting bad. Also I have problems with the charging system and it was brought in and the day there is no problem but for some reason some times lights will come up out of the bue.
Local Toyota dealership in sierra vista, arizona has stated on multiple occasions that they do not have the parts and are not ordering them.
Nhtsa recall 20v682 - safety recall 20ta02 (interim notice 20tb02), multiple model and model years, vehicle may stall during driving at higher speed. Toyota slow on remedy and not taking issue urgent and no solution. Danger to drive.
The leak detection pump sub-assembly, charcoal canister (part # 90910-af006) located above the rear axle will start "pumping" very loudly even after the vehicle has not been driven in excess of 8 hours. Continues for approx 10 minutes, then shuts off. I went to my dealership and asked why this is happening and I was told that "it seems unusual" and then asked me if I pump gas "beyond the normal click to stop" - I said "no", and that I hadn't gassed up in over a week. So he said to just keep "an eye on it". Difficult to determine just how often this is happening since clearly I'm not going to be in the garage at the time this may be occurring. Having said that, a week later the same thing happened. I'm afraid that there's some sort of electrical issue at play here, but I get the feeling that the dealership won't do anything because of the sporadic nature of this.
The truck never shows more than 320 miles of range(should show 400+)and accelerates very slowly even when the pedal is pressed hard. There is a noticeable shudder when the car is idling or a neutral. Feels like dirty fuel injectors but it only has 8k.
Vehicle looses tracktion when making turns on a curve. Happens frequently and tires are still within lifecycle. The tires currently are from original purchase of new Tacoma. Also, the recall for problem with fuel propulsion system has been ongoing and no remedy has been made available. This is putting my family at risk.
The vehicle stalls at times, at other times the vehicle launches in both reverse and forward, at times while driving parkway vehicle hesitates. At times vehicle stationary and with foot on brake and vehicle put in drive the truck launches forward, same with reverse. This has been ongoing for months. Now the malfunction light is on. I understand there is a recall and I have contacted Toyota and they are not willing to do anything and told me that I would be charged a diagnostic fee. I bought the truck in March 2020 with a little over 14,000 miles on the truck the problem began in September 2020.
Idle surges . Rpm surge while at park and it surges when about to drive from the parking.
When accelerating the truck lost all power and acceleration. Engine light is on. Engine will not increase rpm when accelerator is pressed. Truck will slowly drive but is unsafe to be on the road as it slowly accelerates up to 20-30mph max. Vehicle was merging into traffic from parking lot access.
Unprompted acceleration - while driving at about 15 mph in moderate traffic, I accelerated briefly and then let off the gas pedal. After releasing the gas pedal, the truck continued to accelerate and even downshifted, causing the truck to lurch forward. Conditions - I was in light to moderate traffic on my commute to work. The traffic was stop-and-go. The cars ahead of me accelerated, so I did as well. The cars ahead of me quickly decelerated, so I let off the gas but did not need to brake as I was a safe distance. The truck continued to accelerate well after I let off the gas and it lurched forward and downshifted in the process. The engine rpm went to about 3,500. I was able to apply the brake, and the acceleration stopped and the engine went back to idle. I have experienced deceleration lag in many vehicles, but in this case, it was a surge, not a lag. It was long enough for me to think of shifting to neutral and applying the emergency brake.
2019 Toyota Tacoma stopped running on the middle of road. Extremely dangerous.
My vehicle (VIN# 3tmdz5bn7km074092) has not had safety recall addressed by my local dealership. The recall was initiated on 28 October 2020. The local dealership has had more than a month to make a plan to fix the problem and has responded to my request by stating that parts are not yet available and feel I should continue to operate my vehicle in its current state.
2004 Tacoma frame so rotted that upon hitting a large hole would finish off the rusted frame. This type of rust and erosion is not from normal wear. . This is due to the manufacturing of the vehicle and they will not replace. They say they are aware of it. . But time lapsed to get it fixed?? so what now I am out $15k on a 16 year old truck. Since when did recalls have an experation date??.

2020 Toyota Tacoma trd off road has severe hesitation issues during warm startup. Truck cranks over fine but drags for an extended period of time before firing. There is a noticeable smell of gasoline when this happens. Sometimes the starter seems to stick and makes a loud grinding noise. Other times there is an audible single click/pop noise immediately after pushing the start button but the truck still starts. After the truck is started it will occasionally idle rough and the tachometer will dip low and the truck will shake slightly as if the truck is going to stall. Toyota continues to deny anything is amiss despite me providing video evidence and duplicating the issue in front of them myself. They continue to refuse to do any reasonable amount of work to fix my vehicle under warranty. Here is a link to videos of the issue for reference of the severity: https://youtu. Be/z-w-fd8gziu.
Received notice of a recall on the low pressure fuel pump in November 2020; still have not been notified to bring my truck in for repairs. I don't feel safe driving more than 20 or 30 miles from home as I don't want to be stranded if the fuel pump fails.
