It's defiantly a fuel pump issue cause when check to see if fuel pump comes on it don't I was driving about 30 mph it started jumping and jerking like if it was out of fuel I barely made it home it has been two to three weeks now with no response back from Toyota dealer.

The tach shows the engine is bouncing all over the place which is especially evident when idling, but also noticible while in motion. I believe my truck should have the fuel pump replaced. The engine rpms jump all over when driving, when backing up or just rolling without pressure on the gas pedal, the truck jumps & drops in speed. This has been happening for some time now. We have tried adding detergents & using better quality gas but it doesn't seem to help.

Toyota dealer knowingly sold me a 2018 40k miles Tacoma with an open recall regarding failing low pressure fuel pump that can stall at high speed. This was not disclosed at time of purchase. We live a great distance from dealer on a remote island making returning to dealer a considerable hardship. Dealer keeps saying part is coming in a couple days would like to clear this up ASAP .

I was leaving my driveway, the truck started jumping and loss power. Then cut off and wouldn't crank back up for a few minutes. Eventually it continued for about 3 or 4 times. Until it finally died and would not run even though it would crank. Took it in and found out my particular truck wasn't recalled even though it has a fuel pump problem. They put a fuel pump on it. But they don't know if it was the newer updated pump or the older version known to have problems. So I'm riding around in a vehicle that could fail anytime.
Certain Toyota's have been recalled for a fuel pump issue and I would like to addmine to that list because it sometimes hesitates from a stop position to a go position. I've been told the recall has been to the cars at high speeds, well mine is different, but dangerous because it will allow you to pull out into traffic, but will die and pumping the accelerator is nessecary to get into flow of traffic or to avoid being hit in crossing an intersection. This has happened about six or seven times in the past year. Please add my truck into this category. Thanks.
Driving vehicle on a side street going approx 20 miles per hour . Car started shaking and lost majority of power. Was able to get car back to residence (only got a couple of blocks away) when heading to destination. Had vehicle towed next day to same dealership who had recently replaced fuel pump under a recall (paperwork for this recall is what was experienced /stalling dangers) . Dealership told us not fuel pump but wiring harness needed replacement because rodents ate the wiring ( soy bean covering on newer vehicles )and engine lost power because of this . Thank goodness not on a highway going 75 mph. When this happened as we very well could of been . Told we need to deter these rodents from continuing any more damage . Wonder why company would use a product . Thank you.
I just bought a new 2020 Tacoma sr5, and it has very poor acceleration when passing other vehicles. There is a significant dead spot when accelerating. It seams to have a transmission delayed shifting response time when driving. I consider this unacceptable for a new vehicle. It runs worse than my old car. It runs like all the fuel injectors are dirty. Also, a few days ago, I was parked in a parking space that had a bit of an incline for about 15-20 minutes, and when I pulled out and placed my gear in drive, the transmission slipped badly and would not drive forward as if the transmission was broken. I only know a little bit about vehicles, but I know this new 2020 v6 sr5 Toyota Tacoma that I just bought is not right. I will be taking it to the dealership soon to see if they have any suggestions. I have recently found out about a recall regarding the fuel pump. This leads me to believe these problems are all or in part coming from a poor fuel pump. The problem is that the new 2020 Tacoma's are not part of the fuel pump recall. I fear this vehicles poor performance will place me at an increase risk of having an accident while driving into a busy intersection or the like. I hope you (the reader) provide this information to the appropriate channels in order to make this vehicle safe again.
I was driving and suddenly my 2017 Tacoma suddenly shut off in the middle of the street while in motion. It has never had any electrical problems but now the fuel pump is not working. I have read 2018/2019 Tacomas have the same problem. Now the truck will not start.
There is currently an open re-call on the fuel pump. I do not feel like it's being fixed in a timely manner. Toyota keeps changing the remedy date.

The fuel pump on my Tacoma failed. The truck has stalled at high speed multiple times. The truck has failed to restart after stalling.
In Feb 2019, I purchased a new Toyota Tacoma from cavender Toyota, located in san antonio texas. In less than two (2) years and with only 7,084 miles, I received recall notices pertaining to its radar sensor system and fuel pump. The former alerts the driver when another vehicle or obstacle is too close; the remedy was installed by the dealer this year. The latter remains and is still pending development/delivery by headquarters (hq) Toyota projected for late Sep 2020. In the interim, the risk is the 2019 Toyota Tacoma can stall while driving. On 6 Aug 2020, my vehicle stalled while exiting my drive way. Upon taking it to the dealer, the service representative and manager advised nothing can be done since the part is not available. They said the risk is the truck may stall again and to call roadside assistance to have it towed. They also stated the fuel pump recall pertains to the Toyota Tacoma, corolla, sienna, and highlander. Due to safety hazard posed and my dissatisfaction with the responses provided by the service representative and manager, they recommended contacting hq Toyota to relay my views. On 7 Aug, I did so. The hq customer service experience advocate provided the same response. Specifically, nothing further can be done to remedy the issue since the part is being developed. On 17 Aug, my vehicle completely stalled while approaching a red light at a major intersection. I immediately reached out to roadside assistance and waited for two hours in extreme weather conditions before the vehicle was loaded and towed to the dealer. The vehicle now resides at the cavender Toyota dealer's parking lot where it sits with other vehicles having the same issue, until the part is produced/shipped and can be fixed. On 18 Aug 2020, I provided an update to hq Toyota on my horrible experience and safety concerns. They reiterated nothing further can be done at this time.
Truck is currently sitting in Toyota service lot for next 2 months due to fuel pump recall. Truck is unsafe to operate and will die anywhere randomly they have no fix until end of September 2020 when parts come in. Wish they would buy it back, so that I can go buy a dependable truck instead of sending loan payments to a truck that's not in my possession for over 2 months.
The fuel pump was running when the truck was stationary and not started. The key was not in the ignition.
In March received the NHTSA recall no. 20v-012 notice from Toyota for my 2019 Tacoma. On January 13, 2020, Toyota submitted a safety recall report (the recall report) to NHTSA voluntarily recalling nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles manufactured between August 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019 with defective low pressure denso fuel pumps. I contacted Toyota and they said the "remedy" will not be available until September 2020. This means my truck could fail for a full six months between the time of the notification and the "remedy" and a full 9 months from the filing date. Meanwhile the vehicle could fail. The denso low-pressure fuel pump is also listed in a similar recall for Subaru. Why are these companies given so much time to remedy a known major safety problem while these vehicles are still on the road? thank you for your time, scott lesko.
Vehicle stalls when operating at various speeds. Has stalled out at highway speeds and in parking lots. Has broken down and registered fuel trouble codes four times in less than 90 days. When the vehicle stalls it has registered the p08700 and p0017100 codes for low fuel pressure. Dealer has replaced high and low pressure fuel pumps and problem is still not fixed. This is an extremely dangerous condition because the driver loses all power and the vehicle does not restart. The driver has to look for a place to ditch or push out of traffic. It has blocked traffic during stalling episodes, causing a safety concern.
In January 2020 notified customers of certain vehicles that may have low-pressure fuel pump issues. In may 2020 I was noticed my mail that my 2018 Tacoma truck was one of the vehicles affected by the safety recall for a low-pressure fuel pump problem and that a remedy would come soon. Toyota states that they are not able to fix the problem until approximately September 2020. This is totally unacceptable, especially since they continue to manufacture vehicles with fuel pumps. Are those fuel pumps having no issues? if so, then how about replacing fuels pumps of existing customer vehicles.
Safety issue with fuel pump. Stalls while im driving. Was notified about it a couple months ago but havent heard anything else.
I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma with an open recall on the fuel pump. The safety risk is that the vehicle may stall at higher speeds. This recall came out in January 13, 2020, but there still isn't a remedy to the issue. My daily commute is on the highway approximately 40 miles one way. I feel very unsafe in my Toyota Tacoma as this vehicle is my daily driver. It is now April 1, 2020 and Toyota has yet to release any fix or remedy to correct this safety recall. How long does Toyota have to remedy the issue and what are my options at this point with the vehicle?.
Recall issues have been reported via phone calls and emails to dealership since March-2020 but have yet to receive any assistance on matters for two recalls, one in dec2018 for the brake master cylinder and another in jan2020 for the low pressure fuel pump. Brakes are always making a loud noise especially on reverse.
The manufacturer has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy (see below). My truck has been sitting in my driveway (per the instruction of autonation fort myers) since March 10, 2020. I was provided a rental through autonation in fort myers, FL (at their expense) until the remedy was available to consumers. I was advised that the remedy would be available at the end of March, beginning of April. Then I was advised that it wouldn't be until the end of September, middle of October. Meanwhile, my truck is sitting in my driveway accumulating additional issues because I was instructed not to drive it. I was also advised that multiple vehicle types have already been remedied and that Tacoma's have not. I received a recall notification from Toyota about a problem with the low flow fuel pump in February of 2020 and there still isn't a remedy. This needs to be addressed. When it was recalled because it has a chance to stall out while driving at higher speeds. And people like myself don't have another vehicle to drive while Toyota takes there time in developing a remedy. It seems like to me its taking to long to get the remedy. Its been over 6 months. How is this possible.
I got the recall back in February for the fuel pump and I'm still waiting for then to fix it.
Initial notice of recall in November 2019, by press. Faulty fuel pump can lead to vehicle stall at high speed. Resulant serious injury or death. I have inquired numerous times at the local Toyota dealership in person, by phone, and email. Never get the same or a response that is definitive. . . I do not feel safe in this vehicle and after researching and finding a class action lawsuit on this matter, I have decided to get rid of this vehicle. . It has had several recalls allready and noted several other issues with the transmission shifing, body, brakes and rear differential. To be blunt this vehicle is substandard, over-priced by Toyota and has led me to believe that Toyota design, construction and sales are shoddy and deceptive at best.
Notice received in January of 2020 that my 2018 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck has a defective fuel pump that is located in the fuel tank (NHTSA safety recall no. 20v-012). It is now September 21st, 2020 and still no fix for this problem. This is unacceptable. Why has this problem not been resolved?.
There has been an open recall since Jan 13,2020 for a faulty fuel pump that may cut off, especially at high-speeds. There is no fix or resolution. This makes driving the vehicle very stressful and causes extreme stress in driving, both at highway speeds and city speeds. Toyota has failed to follow through and is putting drivers at risk.
Purchased 2019 Toyota truck / tocoma 4wd/dbl cb 4w and was advised of a recall issue with the fuel pump. Now we don't drive it due to fear of an accident. Can't go off road due to fear fuel pump failure where we would be stranded out in desert. The vehicle I purchased basically sits in the driveway and Toyota has no remedy and it has been over 6 months now waiting for the recall issue to be repaired. Given the safety risks, 6+ months is an inappropriately long time not to offer consumers a remedy while we are still driving our vehicles. This is my only vehicle and I do not have the option to avoid driving it while I await a safety remedy.

A problem with the fuel pump on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma was identified in early 2020. It is now September 2020 and I have yet to receive notice that my vehicle can be scheduled for repair or replacement. In the meantime I continue to drive a vehicle that has the potential for stall or possible crash if the engine quits.
