Purchased 4 new firestone destination le3 p245/75/r16 tires. I immediately noticed my truck vibrating a lot. The higher rhe speed , the bigger vibration. I took it back twice. The service tech. Indicated that he balanced them, so I took them to another service station. Two front tires wrre determined to be egg-shaped and could not be balanced. They were also noticably a different color than the back two tires as well. I am taking them back to the original seller and having them replaced under the warranty.

A severe crack formed around the full circumference of tire near where the sidewall joins to the tread. The tire started leaking air and the severe crack was found while mounting the spare tire. The crack was present on the inside of the tire and therefore not visible until the wheel was removed. This crack was on its way to a catastrophic failure of the tire. The crack was found at 23500 miles on a tire with claimed treadlife of 60,000. This was the tire sold with my new 2019 Tacoma: goodyear wrangler at adventure with kevlar 265/70r16. The Toyota dealership said to take the problem to gy but gy has no recall on this tire and I do not want any new gy tire if offered a replacement.

We purchased a set of these tires at the end of June and have only about 15,000mi on them now. The embossed tire wear indicators show more than the 80% tread life left. About two weeks or so ago, I noticed a blister on the tire. Looking at it, there were a few tread blocks separating from the carcass. Yes, separation like what caused issues with firestone and Ford explorers a while ago! pictures attached. I tried reaching out directly to nokian and received no reply. I then tried to contact the seller (budget center) and amazon. Initially, amazon was helpful and the seller told me to go check at a local store. Now, amazon says there is nothing that they will do and I have to go through nokian on my own. Note that I was not asking for a refund, only help contacting nokian. We have purchased several sets of tires from amazon and will never again if this is how they handle warrantable defects. Shameful!.
Tire size 265/65/r17 in 8000 miles on a 2022 Toyota Tacoma, purchased new in August 2022, I have had two nitto ridge grappler sidewall failures. Each has happened at highway speeds (55-60 mph) with adequate pressure (35 psi). No objects or road hazards were encountered. Each tire displayed significant sidewall damage resulting in rapid loss of pressure (blowout). The passenger side front and driver side rear have both experienced the failure. This is a safety concern as a rapid decrease in pressure creates unstable driving conditions. So far, I have received no response from nitto or Toyota regarding the failures. Instead, I am now required to purchase two new tires. I am concerned the other two will eventually fail on the sidewalls as well.
The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of the NHTSA campaign number: 12v542000 (tires) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer declined to perform the recall repair due to rust on the subframe, and that the spare tire carrier needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 236,000.

My tires have only 5600 miles on them. . . Nitto 265/65r17's. I have my 5,000 mile service. They rotated the tires. A couple of days later I noticed my steering wheel shaking. I took it back to the dealership. They said my tires have high road force. . Only the two that were from the rear. They contacted nitto, they will not replace the tires because they only cover the first 1/32 of the tires and im at 2/32. There has to be something wrong with these tires to be so new and yet have this problem. My tires cannot be rotated because the two with the problem will need to stay on the back of the truck so as that my steering wheel wont shake.

I have 4 toyo open range a31, p25 45 r16 tires on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. They were new tires on the 2019 Tacoma when I purchased it new from the Toyota dealership in August 2019. 4 tires on the Tacoma and 1 spare tire. I noticed over he life of these 4 toyo tires they wore rapidly and chunked and lost chunks of rubber in the tread areas. I always rotated and balanced my toyo tires as required. I had yearly front end alignments done . 2020 and 2021. I do an air check every 30 days. There are no mechanical problems with my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. When these toyo open range a31 tires were new they started out at 11/32 tread in August 2019. As previously noted all 4 tires wore rapidly and chunked, rubber loss in thread. By October 2021at 19,500 all 4 tires were at 5/32 closer to 4/32 and had chunking rubber loss in threads on all 4 tires. These tires lasted 2 years and 19,500 miles and must now be replaced. Toyota does not warranty the toyo tires and told me to deal with toyo tires directly. Toyo tire has been challenging to deal with and are only offering 25% off towards a purchase of 4 new toyo tires. This in unacceptable. Its reasonable for a consumer to expect more than 19,500 miles or 2 years from tires. The big picture and major concern is safetey !! these toyo open range a31 tires wore out and chunked with rubber loss in thread by the time they were 2 years old and by the time they reached 19,500 miles. For safety reason I must replace these tires. I respectfully request that ntsb investigate this serious safety matter.
The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Tacoma equipped with goodyear tires, tire line: assurance all season, tire size: 215/70/r15. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, all four tires were shaking abnormally. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where he was informed that all four tires were defective. The contact was shown that there were bubbles and indentations on each tire which led to tire cupping. The contact was also informed that the tires were not properly balanced or rotated. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the tires were not round. The tire manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tires were not replaced. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 67,000. The tire failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
At 65 mph on NY I-87s - without any warning my Toyota Tacoma suddenly dragged to the right. Guided truck to the right shoulder - went to see what had happened. Found passenger side rear tire was not intact. Found the tire tread was wrapped around the axel - separated from the rim. Have never seen anything like this. Tire was demolished. Contacted tire manufacturer (continental/general) and dealer (mavis). They informed me that there was nothing they could do. Tire was warrantied for 60k miles - I had <17k on tire.

Firestone destination le2 p245/75r16 on February 20, 2021 just 15 days after I purchased my brand new truck the rear passenger side tire dramatically exploded while I was driving in to my neighborhood. I was traveling at approximately 35 mph when out of nowhere a sound similar to a shotgun interrupted my driving and immediately forced me off the road in between two trees. I was narrowly missed by oncoming traffic and scared for my life. My side step of my brand new car was damaged as well as the rim and driver side wheel well where my car brushed the tree. I called Toyota and they said I didn't have tire coverage so I called my insurance company next. Usaa sent a tow truck to pick up the vehicle and they brought it to tire choice. The associate said the tires were known for exploding and indicated that I needed to at least replace the damaged one and the driver side front for my own safety. The associate also said he didn't think these specific tires were even in circulation anymore. I went to Toyota and they said this was a manufacturers issue. No one was able to help me and I was forced to replace two brand new tires out of pocket. I was lucky I was in the neighborhood and not the interstate. There was absolutely no sign this was going to happen nor did I hit anything in the short time I had the car before the accident.
Sudden and complete loss of tire pressure on interstate. No visible sign of damage to the tire. Oem tire, new truck, 2,500 total miles. Tire name "open country", made in japan.

Bf goodrich rugged trail ta have put us in danger many times. We purchased a 2015 Toyota Tacoma from dolan Toyota in reno, nv February 2015. Well on a trip passing through sacramento, CA in March 2015 it began to rain. The vehicle began to hydroplane on all for tires even in 4-wheel. Complained to dolan, they said sorry tires are made for off road in in dry weather and refused to replace. On August 8, 2015 was four wheel for first trip in Tacoma, the tires slipped on rocks, it began to rain and the truck slid into the smallest holes. The tires have zero grip in wet dirt. The Tacoma saved us with its many off road features. Our lives were at risk during the trip forcing us to back track carefully. These tires are not safe off-road nor on road especially if moisture is part of the environment. Wet weather is coming, for safety & sanity, I'm replacing these death traps with another product, not bf goodrich!.

While driving on TX us-59 nb righthand lane going approx. 65 mph, the right rear tire failed. I managed to regain control of the vehicle and stop on the highway shoulder. What I found was a very hot tire which had remained inflated, but had lost approx. 75% of the tread circumference down to the steel belt. Approx. 25% of the tread remained with the tire, of which approx. 10% remained attached to the steel belt. The situation described allowed the tire to become a rotating metal eating machine, causing considerable damage to the vehicle wheel well, truck bed, suspension and exhaust system (3 inch stainless steel pipe bend to 90 degrees). Insurance estimates are approx. $2400. 00. After waiting for the tire to cool, I deflated and removed the tire. I was then able to bend and move damaged sheet metal away from the wheel well area to allow clearance for my full size spare, which I installed and drove approx. 5 miles home without causing further damage to the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle has firestone destination le (na), size 21570r15 tires. While driving 75 mph, the rear of the vehicle vibrated. The contact noticed that there was blow out on the rear passenger side tire. The tire shop felt that the tire was damaged when it was mounted to the rim. As of October 9, 2007, the dealer had not repaired the vehicle. The failure mileage was 3,528 and the current mileage was 4,028. The consumer stated the dealer where he purchased the vehicle from reimbursed him for the tire. Updated.
2007 Tacoma with 2200 miles. Noticeable vibration between 18-28 mph. Tires balanced three times. Replaced all 4 tires. Still vibrates. Thoroughly frustrated with this problem.
2007 Toyota Tacoma double cab offroad 4x4 . Vehicle surges (rpm increases 200-300 rpm)when in gear at a stop. Doesn't matter if ac is on or off. This has caused numerous near accidents with vehicles in front of me, my garage door and the work bench in my garage. Vehicle idles extremely fast (1500 rpm) when cold which is dangerous on slippery roads and has caused me to slide through stop signs. Vehicle idles rough, doesn't matter if ac is on or off. Vehicle has a harsh stutter shift between 1st and 2nd. Vehicle has a very noticeable vibration at speeds between 15 and 25 mph. This vibration occurs when accelerating, driving at a constant speed or decelerating. The vibration occurs whether braking or not. The vehicle feels like it is engine braking when letting up on the accelerator. This is most noticeable at speeds 40 mph or slower. It is a safety hazard on icy roads. All these problems began after the vehicle had 500 miles on it. The dealer was made aware of these issues and test drove the vehicle. The dealer said they could not detect any of the problems. Also, the original equipment tires are terrible in snow.
The contact stated a recall letter was received pertaining to the lower ball joints. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall on 12/27/05 where the ball joints were replaced and the vehicle was realigned. The vehicle began to shimmy after about three month later and it was taken to an independent repair shop. The front tires were balance which resulted in difficulty of steering due to the tires becoming worn. The contact expressed that the worn tires were a direct result of the improper alignment performed by the dealer on 12/27/05. After 3 days, the vehicle was taken back to the independent repair shop for tire rotation because the difficulty in steering had worsened. The rotation fixed the problem for awhile however after a couple of months the steering worsened. On 6/26/06, the vehicle was taken to another independent tire dealer for realignment. The contact can provide specifications for the realignment of the tires before the alignment, after the alignment and the specified ranged.
The speedometer is not accurate I took it to the dealer once when still had warranty the blame on the tires
the other dealer said it was accurate
but I change the tires size and now is better is counting more miles than is used to.

My concern is that the tires on oem tires on my vehicle (2005 Toyota Tacoma x-runner) are defective. I had a "split" in my tire and I took it to bridgestone and they said that they are aware of this problem and they replaced all of my tires, not just the problem one with no questions. Where my concern comes in is that I know other with the same vehicle as I have and they exact same problem, but the bridgestone rep. In their area is telling them that they don't know anything about this problem and they will not do anything about it. If the tire is unsafe and some area know about this and are fixing it why are not all the areas aware of this. I feel that they are knowingly putting lives at risk by allowing this to go on with no solution.
