Rear passenger tire splitting across the tire treads. Only 18,000 miles on vehicle 2005 Toyota Tacoma x-runner.
I bought a brand new 05 Toyota Tacoma x-runner, it had about 1,500 mile on the car and the tire had a gash on it all across. It was the passanger side rear tire. The tires come stock from the dealer. I had a problem trying to change it with firestone dealer but after the third firestone dealer they decided to change only the one with the gash. I'm a little worried that the other ones are going to get the gash and might cause me to have an accident. The tires are bridgestone potenza re050 bl 255/45r18 99v. The option for these tires are not on your site.
Well I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma x-runner, and it seems like I have been getting a crack on the right rear tire going straight across the tire. Im not the only one with this concern.
2005 Toyota Tacoma tire failure I would first like to make it clear, this truck has never been used for anything but going back and forth to the grocery store etc. It has never been put into four wheel drive. We purchased it for a cross country trip but were afraid to use it due to the tires wearing out at 3,000 miles and the continued vibration. (fyi-we took a plane) there is no way to get a good balance on the tires on the 2005 Toyota truck because of the design of the rims. I have had this vehicle to different dealers in different states and I get the same message for all. The tires wore out within the first 3000 miles and we had them replaced. The truck has a vibration that you can feel in the stirring and is showing uneven tire wear. I was told by a Toyota rep. That they were having this trouble with all the new trucks because of a change in design this year. This problem makes it unsafe to travel on interstates because you can't go over 45 without a significant vibration. A factory rep. Drove our truck and actually said there was no vibration at 85 mph. He did feel the vibration at lower speeds but said that there was nothing he could do about it. Besides the safety factor of the vibration this could be a real safety hazard when people can't afford a new set of tires every 3,000 miles so they drive on worn out tires.
Purchased new 2004 Toyota Tacoma on 1/24/05. At 1,577. 8 miles, right rear brake drum and wheel covered with gear oil. Repaired at Toyota of greenfield, MA. 01302, phone 413-772-0231 2/17/05. Began leaking again on 2/21/05, at 1844. 6 miles. Returned to greenfield on 2/28/05 at 2284 miles. Contacted dealer again on 4/8/05 at 67345. 9 miles brake drum and tire still covered with oil. Dealer said keep driving it and the leak will go away. Contacted Toyota consumer service on 4/14/05 case # 2005-0617-0841. Received no follow up correspondence form fabiola. Vehicle continued to leak gear oil and handle poorly when braking. Contacted new dealer(Toyota of colchester, CT. ) on 5/27/05. Vehicle repaired on 6/2/05 at 8,188 miles. Contacted dealer again on 6/29/05 at 9085. 1 miles. Vehicles was picked up on 7/11/05. Tries rotated on vehicle on 9/26/05 at 17,266. 4 miles. Found oil on brake shoes and inside of brake drum severely glazed. New case filed on 7/28/05 case # 2005-0926-1574 with salvadore. I am still driving a vehicle with the integrity of the braking system is compromised. And have not received a reasonable resolution to this problem from Toyota motor company. Is it a common practice for an auto maker to let a consumer knowingly drive an unsafe vehicle. Unfortunately I am still paying on a brand new vehicle that I do not feel safe driving. The regional field service technician, joe lacefield from Toyota motor company has been unavailable by phone for the last week 1-973-464-0938. I would like my money returned for this vehicle in full. I feel that I have been more than patient in trying to resolve this matter with Toyota motor company. V. I. N. # 5tewm72n54z372584.

While rotating the tires on my new 2003 Toyota Tacoma p/u for the first time (6,000 miles), I noticed a buldge in the drivers side front tire (goodyear wangler hp p205/75r15) local goodyear dealer(auto world) called goodyear, they said no warranty, but they will sell me a replacement tire at there cost of $97. 00 (as if I'll buy another goodyear tire)!
how many have to be hurt or injured before something is done!
or are they following firestone / bridgestone's lead. . . . .

This tire was flat after 1200 miles of hiway driving. There was found to be a stone about 1 centimeter by 2 centimeter that had penetrated and torn the body of the tire. This could have cause a serious accident . The peoplr who repaired the tire stated that the tire was the thinnest they had seen. We have purchased new tires. This should no happen on a new pick-up.

All four tires have reoccuring "feathering" or cupping on the outer treads. Manufact. Blames out of alignm--dealer checked twice and it was ok (09/13/2000 @ 5114 & earlier). Tires have been rotated twice already since I bought the truck (buy @ 1,866 mi). Tires rotated at 3128 & 7123 mi). I have also experienced problems with the invicta gl (oem) on my previous vehicle--the effect was the same as what is happening now. Manu continual denial of possible flaws in design. On a side note, the tires do not look like they will last over 20k mi. With my last vehicle they only lasted to about 13k. Also, see other complaints about the goodyear invicta gl--they are relatively consistent with this one. (tiresize: p195/75r14)( dot number: tire size: p195/75r14 ).
Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 70mph on highway and tire was making a bumping noise outside of vehicle. She drove vehicle home and parked it and air came out of tire. Dealership was aware of problem.

I purchased a 2000 Tacoma in the month of July. I have no problems except for the goodyear tires. The goodyear tires have been found defective by sears automotive and Toyota and should be replaced ASAP. For more than a month, I have contacted goodyear regarding the problem, but under my warranty, I took my 2000 Tacoma to a local dealer. Miguel perez (1045) - rogers and rogers Toyota, phone # (760) 353-9300 attended me and for several weeks confirmed that all four tires would be replaced. As of today my tires have not been replaced, except for one tire, which I was charged $7. 50. , I am confident you will want to resolve this issue quickly and thoroughly. I am asking that you to look into this matter as it concerns me and other drivers, since the local Toyota dealer stated to me, "there was no more they can do. " (tiresize: p265/75r15)( dot number: tire size: p265/75r15 ).
Just inquiring to see if wildernessht has defective status. No safety defect listed in summary. (dot number: w2hyawa tiresize: p215/70r14).
Firestone wilderness tires (p225 r14) fail to keep consistent pressure and are wearing, consumer has experienced 3 flat tires and is requesting that the tires be replaced.
Tire came apart while driving down highway. (dot number: w29v tiresize: p265/75r15).
Was experiencing vibration in the front end of the truck. Took truck to dealer and they looked at it. They said that the reason for the vibration was the tires were out of round and that the "left outer wheel bushin" that is associated with the rack was excessively worn. They estimated that it would be $1300 to replace the entire rack since Toyota does not sell the individual bushing, nor does it have a procedure to replace the bushing if an after market one is available. The truck was under warranty at the time but Toyota quality care denied the claim because the bushing wear was deemed "noraml wear and tear". Because I would ahve to pay for the cost the dealer said that I should be able to drive with the rack the way it is "for awhile??!".
While my tire size is not included in the current firestone recall, cracks are clearlly visible along the side of the tread of all four tires. I am very concerned. ( dot number: tire size: p225/75r15 ).

The right front tire on the inside tire wall had a separation on it causing it to deflate. The vehicle had not been driven and there were no signs of foul play. I have put on the spare which is the same brand and type as the others on the vehicle. ( dot number: 102s tire size: p225/75r15 ).
No summary. ( dot number: ).
Right-front tire: one block of tread is about 1/4 inch higher than rest. Produces 'whomp - whomp' noise when driven. Two rear tires are worn out in center part of treads as though driven over-inflated. Not true. Straight edge laid across shows heavy wear in center. Tread expansion at speed?? this size and Toyota not mentioned in recall. Are you checking?( dot number: w2hhawa417 tire size: p225/75r15 ).
Excessive wear on front tires, replaced tires bad and are being replaced by firestone. New tires required 5 oz weight to balance. Only allowing me to replace with same wilderness at tires. Can not drive over 55 mph with vibration from tires. ( dot number: tire size: 265r15 112 ).
At about 6,000 mile the consumer noticed cracks and chips on all four firestone wilderness at ii tires and in between the treads, consumer also noticed premature wear of all 4 tires. Nlm.
My tires have developed "flat spots" on them. I took the truck to the car dealer and they told me to take it to a tire dealer. The tire dealer told me it was the truck causing the problem and firestone would not cover the defect. I have kept the truck maintained and tires rotated and balanced. I feel either firestone or Toyota should be responsible for my problem. I am concerned that it might be more of a tire problem since there have been problems with the other size of wilderness tires. ( dot number: w2 tire size: p26575/r15 ).
Truck has vibration and shimmy at all speeds. Tires were replaced at 1900 miles. Truck still has vibration . Tires were balanced 6 diferent times . Dealer say its in the tires and the tire place says it is not the tires. Took to another dealer and they said nothing wrong with tires or rims but truck still has vibration . (tiresize: 31x10. 5x15)( dot number: tire size: 31x10. 5x15 ).
More than three sets of different tires, still vibration in back of truck, Toyota has not fixed problem yet. (dot number: n/a tiresize: p22575r15).
Tire completely came apart, same thing happened to a friend of mine with similiar truck. These tires should also be included in the current recall!( dot number: w2hy tire size: p215/70r14 ).
I was not driving, I was washing my vehicle when I noticed a long split on the tread surface. The split was about four inches long and it followed one of the tread lugs. I took the tire in to a firestone dealer and ask if it was a defective tire and they said no that it was a road hazard. It was not a road hazard! they made me buy a new tire. ( dot number: w29v awi tire size: p265/75r15 ).
Original equipment, firestone wilderness ht tires p21570r14, dot wthyawa, Toyota takoma, extend cab 1997. Passenger's side front tire went flat when turning a corner. Due to the tire failure, the vehicle lost control, went into a ditch and hit a stump, the consumer sustained inuries because the airbag experienced no deployment.
