The transmission cooling line in my 2019 Toyota Tacoma was never installed by an authorized repair shop following an accident. This critical component failure led to the transmission failing just 1. 5 hours after I retrieved the vehicle from the shop. My safety was compromised, as the failure occurred while driving at highway speeds, without any warning lights or messages indicating an issue. The failure has been confirmed by the dealership (motorworld Toyota) currently inspecting my vehicle. The shop responsible for the initial repairs has taken liability for missing the installation of the transmission cooling line. My insurance company (geico) has been involved but is delaying total loss consideration. No warning lamps or messages appeared before or after the transmission failure, which is highly suspicious. This negligence has caused severe damage to a vital component of my vehicle, and I question the overall integrity of the repairs.

Driving at approximately 55 mph and dash lights started flickering, radio went off, reset to 530 (am radio). Vehicle started sputtering and slowing down in traffic and completely shut down. Lost all power and coasted to side of road. I had no or little control of vehicle. I have "connected services" that was to warn me about mechanical and electrical failures and no warning of this happening. This enrollment was to give me "services designed to help keep you safe, secure and in control of your Tacoma from almost anywhere". "brand engagement center" not concerned of the incident. Apparently two and half year old battery failed. Replaced by myself.

I have experienced short periods with my Tacoma accelerating when my foot wasn't on the gas pedal. The floor mat was pinned down correctly and not in the way. I was turning left and my truck started to speed up like the gas was being pressed. I had to hit the brakes as a red light was coming and vehicles were stopped at the red light. I have also had another issue with the truck not responding when the pedal was pressed all the way down and the truck wouldn't speed up at all for a few seconds.
- engine throttle went into wide open throttle causing the unintended acceleration in traffic - the truck was doing about 45mph the passing gear came on and a second I was doing 60mph I quickly applied full pressure on the brakes and the car did not slow down at all, the truck failed to stop or slow down and was getting closer to the vehicle in front, it was in the expressway. My only thought was too press the on off button and instantly shut down the passing gear and slowed down. _ the vehicle was dropped of at the dealer for 2-weeks and was inspected no problem found. - there were no warning lamps messages on the screen or voice message at all. I am afraid to drive this vehicle it became a runaway wild horse. If I didn`t react in milliseconds I would of hit the car in front at a high rate of speed causing damage to everyone. I took pictures after right after having full control of the truck. All the record of my complaints of the Tacomas drive train started more than 1 1/2 years ago the records are the facts of Toyotas negligence. I have total fear and don`t trust this truck with my life. Please check the recorded dealer is doral Toyota and you can speak with the service manager tony herrera(786) 569-5121 therrera@doraltoyota. Due to the failure of the secondary air pump system vehicle will experience a sudden loss of power and could cause a loss of control. Toyota is aware of the problem but will not issue a recall.
Took my car for regular maintenance and they did tire rotation and etc after that the car was driving kind of off now its just acting up started shaking and jerks like shutters and stuff feels vrry unsafe.
I brought my truck into miller Toyota of anaheim due to a violent shuddering and acceleration at about 40 to 50 mph. This could have caused driver to lose control and injure themselves, passengers, and other drivers on the road. Dealership diagnosed the problem as a bad torque converter in the transmission and said it would cost about $3200. 00 to repair. Couldn't afford that so I took vehicle to an independent repair shop and they notified me that there was a Toyota service bulletin that addressed this concern and that they would have to do a complete reprogramming update of transmission control module. I haven't had any issues since this was done but the dealership should have been aware of this problem which could be potentially fatal. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to this failure or during the failure.

Full tank of fuel and dashboard is showing 30 miles until empty warning. I have received the engine warning ?? sign on my dashboard as well when this happens. This issue also affects me on the road when I am pressing the accelerator and the engine will not respond, this gas been an issue since they did the fuel pup recall. With a delay in acceleration comes a delay on the brake system as well, two intenses that I've had to press my foot as hard as possible on the brake to avoid a collusion with another vehicle. The last time this happened was on 4/17/2022.
The truck will accelerate on its own during highway speeds of 60+ mph and residential 25+ mph. Also accelerates when coming up to a stop sign causing me to almost hit a child in a crosswalk. There was no cruise control engaged during the incidents. I took it into the autonation Toyota dealership twice and they said they could not reproduce and or duplicate the problem. It is very frightening when it happens as it lasts between 4-5 seconds if you do not apply the brakes hard. There has not been any warning lights or anything that comes up on the dash board.
On 11-27-2021 I lost all power while on a highway. I would lose power even with my foot all the way down the rpm would not rise at all. The power would come back adruptly and throw me back into my seat. The trac off and check engine light came on. My truck seemed like it was gonna stall and had a really low and rough idle. It was only about 0-500 rpm at idle and truck was shaking bad because of the engine. After getting towed home I tested the battery and alternator and those were fine. I believe it is the crankshaft position sensor. I have read that this has happened to man other people with the same truck as mine. There was a recall for the cps but for some reason my truck was not included.
I came to a complete stop right after a left turn into strip shopping parking lot. My automatic transmission in drive with my left foot on the brake. My truck suddenly took off on its own hitting another vehicle at high speed a few inches away to my right. From police report later it appeared 5 other vehicles were hit. Mine was towed to a city lot and retrieved by my insurance company and totalled. I had fractured mid left clavicle and was put in ambulance to er. No other injuries I’m aware of to any persons. It occurred a few days prior but in a parking lot with nothing in front of me to crash into so I had time to think to step on brake and move auto transmission to park or neutral. No other times did it occur to me. My husband also drove truck and coincidentally had 3 backup accidents in a row backing out of a parking space. First time that type of accident had happened to him. I told everyone what happened but I couldn’t see witnesses or exchange information because my pain was too severe. According to what I heard others saying or what was written I wasn’t believed. They tricked me once I got to er and locked me on psych ward like I was suicidal but I never told anyone I was. I think they wanted to keep me in hospital longer for the money because they did nothing but an x-ray and I went the entire night with no pain medicine right after radiologist told me that clavicle fracture is the most painful kind of fracture.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while in reverse and attempting to park the engine rpms suddenly increased while pressing the brake pedal and the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to lose control of the steering. During the incident the vehicle crashed into two separate vehicles and a restaurant building serving outside diners. The contact was eventually able to switch gears causing the vehicle to drive forward before turning the engine off and stopping. The contact indicated that the brake pedal was being pressed at the time of the failure but the vehicle continued to accelerate. The driver sustained a mild head injury and one diner was also injured. No further information was available. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 75,000.

June 1st 2021 I went to park in a parking space at a local mall. My truck instead of stopping it accelerated out of control jumped two stone curbs, drove though a fence and landed into a swamp. Call Toyota and they have opened a new case # 210602000065. Police report # 21-374-ac. This isn't the first time that this has happen with this truck. It happen in Aug 2019. I contacted Toyota case number 1908060035. They sent out eaa engineering analysis ass. Out who did a acm. Cdrx file a month later. Toyota came back said they couldn't find anything wrong and my case was closed. Another incident in winter of 2016 where my truck was stopped and it accelerated on its own and it drove in the 4 way intersection where it caused an accident. Lots of damage to cars. Toyota was contacted and they sent me to a dealer for repairs. Dealership has records of my truck coming in since I owned it with complaints of truck not moving at all to all of sudden to acceleration on its own.

When accelerating the truck lost all power and acceleration. Engine light is on. Engine will not increase rpm when accelerator is pressed. Truck will slowly drive but is unsafe to be on the road as it slowly accelerates up to 20-30mph max. Vehicle was merging into traffic from parking lot access.
Unprompted acceleration - while driving at about 15 mph in moderate traffic, I accelerated briefly and then let off the gas pedal. After releasing the gas pedal, the truck continued to accelerate and even downshifted, causing the truck to lurch forward. Conditions - I was in light to moderate traffic on my commute to work. The traffic was stop-and-go. The cars ahead of me accelerated, so I did as well. The cars ahead of me quickly decelerated, so I let off the gas but did not need to brake as I was a safe distance. The truck continued to accelerate well after I let off the gas and it lurched forward and downshifted in the process. The engine rpm went to about 3,500. I was able to apply the brake, and the acceleration stopped and the engine went back to idle. I have experienced deceleration lag in many vehicles, but in this case, it was a surge, not a lag. It was long enough for me to think of shifting to neutral and applying the emergency brake.
The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v682000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to autonation Toyota mall of georgia (3505 buford dr, buford, GA 30519, (770)674-6083) where it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while attempting to accelerate while driving at various speeds. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
When I start vehicle a hissing or electric shock rattles and seems as I start to drive there is no power and 4 wd is on when I brake it skips making tires jump.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 09v388000 (vehicle speed control) and 14v604000 (suspension). The contact called and took the vehicle to the arlington Toyota located at 10939 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, FL 32225, and after two weeks, the technician stated that the frame was rusted and needed to be replaced prior to the recall repairs being performed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 136,100.

On three different occasions I was stationary with the gear shift in drive and my foot firmly on the break, when the rpm's suddenly revel up to over 5000 rpm and the truck trying to lurch forward. I had to ram the gear shift into neutral to get the rpm's to drop down. The last time it happened at the bank parking lot. I came to a complete stop to let a woman cross in front of me to her car. All of the sudden the engine revs way up with me trying to hold the truck back as it was lurching forward. She thought I was trying to run over her. I don't know who was more scared, her or me. I jammed it into neutral and after a few more seconds the revs dropped down to idle again. I'm taking it to modesto Toyota tomorrow to get it looked at on August the 6th. The truck only has 63000 miles on it. The other two times it happened were in my driveway and at my storage unit. Both times I was stationary as well, truck in drive, foot on break. Very dangerous!.
My 6 speed manual v6 3. 5l trd off road Tacoma has hesitations and bucks when you apply throttle in the lower rpm 1000 to 2000 range to accelerate and also has poor throttle response when down shifting to slow and make a turn onto a side street. You have to apply almost 3/4 throttle to get the rpm to come to where you can rev match to the appropriate gear. It makes for a jerky ride for passengers and seems hard on the drivetrain. No dealer fix is available. Clutch pedal also squeaks on warmer days.
On several occasions my car has lost power and started idling very low in traffic. There has been an open recall for several months for this problem and Toyota has not fixed it.
Runaway vehicle reported Friday, 04/24/2020. Happened again Friday 05/01/2020, and today 05/04/2020. Six times now I have reported. Friday and today I was backing out of driveway. Started up, had foot on brake, put in reverse, and throttle went wide open. Turned switch off, put in park, and started up. All ok. Thought a/c compressor might have something to do with electronics, but a/c was off on 05/01/20. I have a electro / mechanics tech degree and have worked in appliance shop over 15 years. Worked in vehicle shops over 25 years. Currently school bus parts specialist for gwinnett boe. I know from internet this is a common problem that nobody wants to fix. I have written to senator, congressman, Toyota corp America. They want to blame problem on floor mats. At times I did not have any mats in. Last two time I had weather tech custom fit hard plastic mats in vehicle. I can't sell as-is, as I do not want anyone to get killed in it. So as a tax paying american, I am stuck with what everyone knows is a very dangerous problem that has killed hundreds of people and no one cares. My wife has info on report from electronic engineer firm that won cases in court. I told her when I die in accident, file law suit against Toyota and us government as they have been told about the problem. My truck went three years without doing this. Now has run away three times in one week! I could upload the report if needed, but you probably already have several copies.

The pre colision system is faulted out due to the sensor behind the windshild.
Transmission slips when shifted from park to drive or reverse to drive. Has a 1-3 second delay. In addition this slip motion created a loud gear cranking noise as I tried to accelerate on a u-turn. The truck did not move or shift despite hearing the engine accelerate accompanied by the metallic gear-like grind sound. Sound very similar to a stick car when you try to engage a shift without the clutch (but my truck is 2016 automatic trd-sport). Lastly, when taking speed bumps or hard shifting motion (up-down) you can hear the suspensions make a loud clank noise as the truck shifts in the speed bump motion.
I had to recall before , but I did not see anythings and I was waiting so long.
Under moderate acceleration while turning left, the vehicle surged and continued to accelerate unintentionally. Forceful braking was applied to avoid an accident and gradually slow the vehicle.

On December 1, 2019 I was backing into a gas station fill up spot. As I let off the gas to apply pressure to the brakes the truck revved up and started accelerating in reverse. I applied as much pressure to the brakes as possible only to continue accelerating in reverse. I could fill the truck's brakes attempting to stop the vehicle but the truck's back tires are squealing over powering the brakes. I finally come to a stop on one of the poles that protects the gas pumps after hitting another vehicle. I have contacted Toyota and they sent a third party company to pull the information from the event data recorder. I was told I would get a report over what they said happened within 30 days after the third party has inspected the vehicle. It has now been 37 days and Toyota is refusing to give me any information. I have done all the recalls that have been issued on the 2006 Tacoma. On one recall they installed an override that would have decreased acceleration in the event that both the brake and gas were being depressed at the same time. This did not work in my accident. I have noticed on this site that there are 144 other complaints on this make and model of truck of the same thing occurring, yet that is not enough to say that the truck is unsafe? I am convinced that the truck is a danger and Toyota is not responding and have missed the deadline of getting me the report within 30 days.
