1 Equipment problem of the 2003 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 09/26/2025

Frame corrosion: there was originally a customer service campaign for 2000-2003 Toyota Tundra’s for frame corrosion that was extended under administration tracking code “bxd. ” my vehicle was manufactured in indiana and has major frame rust on the rear cross member portion of the frame. This extension has no expiration date and the vehicle has excessive damage to the frame. Please help authorize the replacement of this frame as the vehicle only has 150,000 miles and has a clean title. Any help would be appreciated.

2 Equipment problem of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 09/17/2025

The driver and passenger windows intermittently skip and get stuck while moving up or down. They struggle to operate smoothly and don’t function properly.

3 Equipment problem of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 08/09/2025

I’ve notice that when coming to a stop or yield when you press the gas pedal to go or continue driving there’s a lag or delay. This has happened more than 4-5 times since I purchased the truck on December 23, 2024. The last time it happened was last Saturday August 9, 2025. Truck was on sport mode, auto stop/start was off. I’m at a light waiting to make a right turn, when I pressed the gas pedal to go it went forward and felt like I slammed the brakes. I had to take my foot off the gas pedal, brake, then gas it up again to go. It is a little scary because this could cause an accident. I’ve taken my truck to the dealership about this, but they said they can’t do anything about it because they cannot recreate the issue.

4 Equipment problem of the 2006 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

The frame on my 2006 Toyota Tundra sr5 has severe corrosion and multiple areas of rust perforation despite being treated under Toyota’s limited service campaign d0d in 2015. During that campaign, the dealer removed the bed, documented active rust on the frame, cleaned it, and applied corrosion-resistant compound (crc) to key areas as the preventative remedy. As documented in multiple repairs the corrosion was already advancing at the time the crc was applied, the steering shaft boot was replaced the same day as the compound was put on at 93,822 miles, several other critical safety failure shortly after; the brake pivots seized at 94900, rotors rust pitted at 99537, bumper had perforations at 109407, 1 brake line from master cylinder and 1 brake line from abs actuator leaking near the junction block on l/s of the frame at 113422, 52 days later the shift cable was broken at 114904. The current perforation and delamination indicate that the d0d remedy failed to prevent structural degradation as intended. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle’s structural integrity is severely compromised, creating a risk of frame failure while driving. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk due to potential loss of control or component separation. The problem has not yet been inspected by the dealer in its current condition but has been escalated to Toyota corporate. I have attached the communications with them. The truck has been fully serviced through Toyota since new, with the last documented service in January 2021. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages prior to the failure. Visible rust first appeared prior to the d0d treatment and has now progressed to full perforation. The vehicle is currently unsafe to drive.

5 Equipment problem of the 2023 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 07/22/2025

I have been having issues with engine hesitation, especially when pulling out onto the highway. More noticeable as we live out of town and our entrance is on a highway curve. As when I pull out, the response time is bad and had nearly caused us to get into a accident.

6 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 07/17/2025

Front active spoiler malfunction last week I took the vehicle into Toyota due to this malfunction message on the vehicle. The spoiler failed and remained in the down position, unknowingly causing additional damage to the spoiler flap. It was determined that the motor assembly was not working and needed to be replaced. The motor, flap and related assemblies were replaced under warranty by the dealership on 07/17/2025. Within 2 days, the spoiler was stuck in the down position again, this time without the malfunction message on the vehicle. With this being stuck in the down position, it can potentially cause more damage to the vehicle being in the down position and lead to debris in the roadway depending on the damage. Toyota manual states to avoid driving the vehicle at high speeds when this issue is present. However, owners with this issue would not know there is an issue if the vehicle is not presenting an error while functioning improperly. The vehicle is scheduled to be looked at again tomorrow 07/22/2025, at corwin Toyota of colorado springs.

7 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

When attempting to move forward from a stop, there is a momentary delay in the truck responding to stepping on the accelerator pedal. This is a real safety concern when attempting to pull into traffic, as the "dead spot" in the pedal occurs after the truck has already moved forward a few feet, leaving the front end of the truck out in the traffic lane. It appears to be related to the automatic transmission starting in 4th gear, as I can move the shift lever to manual shifting mode and start out in 2nd gear with no hesitation. Once moving I simply move back to drive mode. This has been an ongoing concern, reported from the first service (10k) on my truck, which now has 45k miles. I received the remedy engine at 37k miles under the safety recall. Toyota seems to be aware of the issue, as they flashed the tcm once, which seemed to help briefly, however the problem quickly returned. I am not the only Tundra owner reporting this issue.

8 Equipment problem of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 06/26/2025

Loud whistling noise from side mirrors at various speeds even when radio is turned up.

9 Equipment problem of the 2011 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 06/19/2025

I took my truck to the dealership of Toyota in riverside, CA and the staff there told me there was no recall for my vehicle. Can you please verify if my vehicle is under warranty? I also went to the smog inspection and told them about my situation and they said my vehicle may not be under recall since sometimes certain vehicles under the same year are grouped together with a specific recall.

10 Equipment problem of the 2019 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 06/03/2025

The built-in navigation system in my 2019 Toyota Tundra is dangerously outdated and cannot be updated over-the-air (ota). Recently, it misrouted me into a remote, unfamiliar area with no cell service and incorrect road data. If I hadn’t had enough fuel, I could have been stranded in potentially life-threatening conditions. Toyota continues to install these systems with outdated maps and no ota functionality, while presenting them as part of a reliable, intelligent driving experience. This is not a minor tech issue—it is a safety failure. Drivers are led to trust a system that cannot be trusted. I want to be clear: this experience has completely changed how I view Toyota as a brand. What seemed like a small, fixable flaw turned into a moment of genuine danger. That moment told me everything I needed to know about Toyota’s priorities—and Toyota is no longer in my future because of it. I urge NHTSA to investigate this as a potential recall-level issue. A navigation system that actively misleads the driver and offers no timely updates is not just broken—it’s hazardous.

11 Equipment problem of the 2006 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/28/2025

I have a 2006 Tundra with 120k miles and I was told it wasn't one that was effected by the recall. However I'm have frame rot issues and just had to spend thousands of dollars to make it safe. This is the second time I've had to repair the frame in the 4/5 years I've owned it.

12 Equipment problem of the 2020 Toyota Tundra

13 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/13/2025

I am the original owner of a brand new 2024 Toyota Tundra trd pro, and this issue began within the first 15,000 miles of regular dealer-maintained use. At approximately 14,800 miles, I noticed unusual and rapid outer shoulder wear on all four oem falken wildpeak a/t3w 285/65r18 tires. A professional alignment inspection performed by Toyota carlsbad dealership confirmed that the factory-set front toe angle was significantly out of Toyota’s specification (left front toe: +0. 30°, right front: +0. 10°, total front toe: +0. 39°). This incorrect alignment was present from the factory and caused tire damage before any corrections were made. These settings match exactly what is described in Toyota limited service campaign 24td01, which applies to 2022–2023 Tundra models. However, my 2024 vehicle is not included, even though the defect and symptoms are identical. The alignment defect was confirmed and corrected by the dealership, but Toyota refused to replace the damaged tires, stating it is not a warrantable condition. However, this wear was directly caused by the misalignment on a new, factory-spec vehicle, maintained per Toyota guidelines. This condition presents a clear safety risk, as premature outer tire wear significantly reduces traction, affects handling, and increases stopping distance—especially in wet or emergency conditions. There were no warning lights or messages, making the condition undetectable until visible tire damage occurred. I filed a formal complaint with Toyota USA, but they declined further assistance. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether Toyota should expand campaign 24td01 to include 2024 models with the same alignment-related defect. The tires are available for inspection. I have supporting documentation including alignment reports, photos of tire wear, and communications with Toyota regarding this case #.

14 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/12/2025

Transmission or engine has a lag, or dead spot from a complete stop to acceleration, such as leaving a stop light. At times barely noticable, other times it seems the engine is going to die. Dangerous when pulling onto a busy street from a side street. Dealership says "unable to replicate" which is understandable, as it's somewhat intermittent. This appears to be with all model year 2022 and newer Toyota Tundras.

15 Equipment problem of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/09/2025

Only had the truck for 3 weeks, I'm starting to feel a lag when accelerating. I thought it was just the turbo lagging, but it may be the gas pedal communicating as I barely ease into it.

16 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/08/2025

My vehicle experiences throttle lag/hesitation from a stop or rolling start. The issue is intermittent and the delay can vary on how long untill the vehicle goes.

17 Equipment problem of the 2023 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/08/2025

While parked on may 8, 2025, the sunroof glass on my 2023 Toyota Tundra spontaneously shattered. Minutes earlier, I had moved the vehicle from my driveway to the street. I have home security video that shows the sunroof panel visibly flexing when I closed the driver’s door—suggesting internal stress. Later, when I opened the door again and got inside, the glass suddenly exploded, creating a loud noise and sending shards across the sunroof liner. The glass appeared to explode outward rather than inward, suggesting a possible pressure buildup. This vehicle had just received its 40,000-mile service, and the glass was intact and undamaged beforehand. There were no warning lights, impact marks, or objects that could cause damage near the truck at the time. The failure occurred under normal conditions—no driving, no people around. I consider this a serious safety risk: if this had occurred while driving or with passengers inside, it could have caused injury or distraction-related accidents. I have multiple videos from my home security system showing: 1. The sunroof flexing under door pressure 2. The moment the glass shatters the dealer (bayside Toyota) is scheduled to inspect the vehicle. The failed sunroof is available for inspection upon request. I have also asked the dealership to file this incident as a safety incident related to the Toyota Tundra.

18 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

Hesitation at acceleration. Especially from start.

19 Equipment problem of the 2014 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 04/27/2025

Purchased a 2014 Toyota Tundra on facebook marketplace from an individual on 4/27/2025 the seller represented the mileage as 88,461 miles, but after reviewing the vehicle history through carfax/autocheck, I discovered that the actual mileage is significantly higher. The odometer appears to have been rolled back. I have filed a police report regarding this fraud and am submitting this complaint to report the tampering. I have supporting documentation including the listing, communication with the seller, and the vehicle history report.

20 Equipment problem of the 2023 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 04/09/2025

Rear passenger door trim, and accelerator pedal lag.

21 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 04/07/2025

Driving down the road, my sunroof exploded. Sun shade was pulled so no injury. Dealer would not diagnose other than saying glass just doesn’t explode so must have been hit by something. I don’t believe that is the case. Easily as likely a manufacturer defect from the factory. I have had the truck for less than a year with 11000 miles.

22 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/26/2025

A. I had a warning light and had a distorted image in surround view. Mid-March 2025 b. Wend dealership and they replaced the ecu related to backup camera. March 26, 2025 c. After ecu replacemenet, I have two issues 1. Backup camara hitch line is not on center 2. Parking line on surround view is distorted. Parking line is on straight but displayed bent line. Went the dealership. They said no issue was found. I explained the anomaly. They acknowleded the distorted image but didn't think as an issue. - reached out Toyota cooperation and shared the image which shows distorted image. D. Case manager organized repair work with the dealer ship and visited on Sep. 19 2025 - dealership diagnosed no issue. I have touble for parking and connecting trailer due to the issue. I couldn't make the dealership to recognize this as an issue even with help from Toyota cooperation.

23 Equipment problem of the 2016 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/18/2025

I have had multiple incidents where the front hood bulge has blown off going down the interstate and nearly hit other cars. It’s not been worth buying a new one with the risk of them flying off. It’s definitely a saftey concern and a hazard.

24 Equipment problem of the 2025 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/25/2025

I was driving around 4 p. M. When sunlight hit the engine hood. The sun's reflection went directly into my eyes and blinded me for seconds. I could stop before hitting another car in front of me. The way the hood is designed is dangerous because the sunlight hits the angle and reflects the light to the cabin, especially for the driving seat from the left, center, and right sides. The sunlight, magnified by the glossy finish of the hood's paint, burned my eyes, so I was blind for seconds. I had to keep seeing ahead of me because there was traffic. I have some pictures. I hope someone reviews this message and contacts me or Toyota before someone gets injured.

25 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/20/2025

Acceleration hesitation and lag especially in 1st gear.

26 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/18/2025

Vehicle stalls upon brief stop and go. Causing multiple near misses.

27 Equipment problem of the 2003 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/17/2025

Frame cross member recall, I have called several Toyota dealerships and all have denied me service to the recall.

28 Equipment problem of the 2023 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/15/2025

Vehicle suffers from power failure response intermittently when attempting to accelerate. Sometimes it feels as it’s its sputtering before getting a sudden jolt of acceleration.

29 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 02/14/2025

2024 Tundra crew max hybrid limited off road, since day one of purchase of this vehicle I have had excessive wind noise in the windows on the driver and passenger side. From what I understand many people are having the same problem with the Tundras. Toyota dealership tried to solve the remedy by putting insulation in the rubber seals in the corners it quieted it down a little bit but it’s still beyond what a $75,000 vehicle should sound like while driving 45 miles and above an hour it’s very annoying to hear other cars and traffic in this this vehicle. The seals around the windows and the door jams are faulty and need to be addressed. Thank you for your time.

30 Equipment problem of the 2023 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/30/2025

Hesitation from stop and surge concerns. This may cause traffic surge, collison in my front for having no control of the speed if I end up pressing the gas all the way which it cause a quick surge of speed, due to the hesitation when pressing the gas, this happened to my car for a lot of times now which I ignored it until I saw the help from the Toyota Tundra forum, that I can actually send a report to NHTSA.

31 Equipment problem of the 2016 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/29/2025

The frame of the truck is extremely rusted. I am unsure if it can be fixed. It is available for inspection. This 2016 Tundra has 71,000 miles and is used as a third car. It has been serviced at the same dealership (northshore Toyota, covington, la) and we were never informed of the damage by the dealership. My safety is at risk because the extensive rust could cause the frame to fail. Previous Tundra models have been recalled because of the same issues. No warnings were issued even after the dealership serviced the truck on a lift numerous times (approximately 9 years). The only previous warning by the dealership was on 1/29/2025 when the dealership informed us of a rusty trailer hitch. The truck was brought to 4 body shops in the local area after the owner went to work on the trailer hitch and saw the damage. All 4 shops confirmed that the rust was extensive. 3 shops would not fix the damage because it would be an expensive/extensive fix. We are waiting on what shop #4 says.

32 Equipment problem of the 2006 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/25/2025

My 2006 Tundra has major rust on the frame to the point it isn't safe to drive anymore. I have reached out to Toyota and my local dealer and have received the same answer from both saying its not something that Toyota will cover, despite the fact that there was a national safety recall that started in 2016 for rust related issues.

33 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/20/2025

The fuel gauge sometimes does not read properly. It's happened a few times where the gauge reads inaccurate.

34 Equipment problem of the 2024 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/17/2025

From the start, I would say after a few months of having my vehicle I had ebs issues and after that I had my vehicle shut down while I was driving and go into limp mode at it said engine reduce power or reduce engine power and it has done that four times this last time it said reduce engine power and all mercy breaking systems failed. There was a knocking in the engine, like there was no oil in it and all collision malfunction sensors breaking systems everything malfunction and vehicle shut off and engine was rattling took to Toyota and they told me that it was a manufacturing issue, but there was no recall my vehicle never even said I was low on oil even though I just had an oil change. It never gave me any alerts. It would just randomly lose power to the engine and shut down but this last time it was really bad.

35 Equipment problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 01/06/2025

The vehicle has a delay in the throttle in some situations immediately following a deceleration. For example, when braking onto a yielding on ramp to check for traffic while coming to a near stop then pressing the throttle there is an obvious lag. That second or so of lag often results in the tires spinning due to a spike in throttle. In more than one instance I've experienced it from a dead stop but this is not as common as a slow deceleration to a roll.
