2 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 02/17/2019

Bought the car used and took it to a mechanic to get it checked out. Low and behold they informed me I have a failing power steering module, rear main seal, carbon build up on the intake, as well as cracks in both front control arms. Took it to a dealer who confirmed this diagnosis and gave me a $6250 quote for the work. Car was driving fine and felt great. After taking it to the shop the check engine light was on. Car has 90k on it and was under warranty until then. All these items were neglected by the dealer.

4 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/25/2018

Vehicle keeps misfiring. Check engine light remains on. Epc light comes on periodically after fuel pump was replaced. While driving car jerks and check engine light begins to flash. Lots of wear to tires within a few thousand miles. Breaks must be push on hard to stop. The dealership said the only thing that was wrong was a code for carbon buildup. Dealership would not provide code just a price of $1000. Spark plugs and coils were changed before purchasing vehicle. I'm certain the fuel pump was not changed. The vehicle uses 1/8 of a tank to warm up.

5 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 07/06/2018

After 87k my 2011 vw Cc has an issue with the timing chain tension and has ruined my engine in less than 72 hours. I received a check engine light notification and immediately scheduled a service appointment, but by the time I got it into the shop, my engine was destroyed. Even though I never received a low oil notification, I noticed the oil was low by the dip stick and therefore added a few quarts of oil. When I got to the dealership for service the engine was almost completely out of oil and my engine was damaged. The total estimate for repairs is over $10,000 and therefore exceeds the value of the vehicle($5k).

6 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 06/08/2018

When turning corners, check engine light would flash on and engine would sometimes misfire. I took it in to the vw dealership to look at it for the second time. They performed diagnostics and then went to pull the vehicle out of shop and it would not start. They determined the timing chain slipped. Thankful that this did not happen while driving as it would have been very dangerous. The dealership must dismantle the engine to determine root cause and price for proper repairs, which they are estimating as $2,000 to $5,000 - which is more than the car is worth. We took great care of this car including servicing as recommended. It had 150k miles, but we should have been able to drive this car for many more miles. Vw should have issued a bulletin for servicing this known issue and we would not have been forced to buy a new vehicle, moreover, they should have issued a recall as this could be fatal if it went out while driving.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 12/12/2017

While traveling on the freeway in san diego, my car started shaking and losing power. Then the epc & check engine lights turned on, on the dashboard. I was barely able to pull over to the shoulder, and drive off the upcoming exit ramp. I lost total engine power, and I had to call the towing truck to take me to the closest dealership, as the car is still under warranty. I waited 5 hours to find out what was happening, as I live in another city. The dealership technician told me that they recorded several piston misfires, but after resetting the computer, the faults never came back. Their internal policy required the fault to be present for the company to comply to replace faulty parts, even when they had the records. They told me they could not help me, and advised to take the car and drive it to the dealership where I lived. I did so, and I got the same response from my local dealership. They told me they would not help me due to internal policies, and that I should drive the car as is, until the issue came up again. I explained this could put me & my family at risk of injury, even possible death due to a highway accident, not to mention the cost I could incur for another tow truck & hotel expenses. They declined to replace the parts, even after I opened a case with their customer support manager. I explained I would have to seek legal advice as I felt I was being a victim of fraud by wv company. The local dealership not only not fixed my problem, but he charged me with a check-up fee. I could not be more dissapointed at this company.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 11/10/2017

My car has left me stranded twice. It all started when my fuel pump started to leak gas all over my car. Once I got the fuel pump replaced. My vehicle ran fine on my way to the store but when I came back to my car it turned over and let me pull out of my parking spot but then died when I went to put it in drive in the parking lot. I attempted to jump my car but it did not work. I replaced the battery on 10/9/17 and it appeared to solve the issue. On 10/29/17 I drove my car up north to payson. It ran completely fine until I shut it off to go to the creek. When I came back to my car it would not turn over again. I bought a battery and replaced it yet again. This time the battery did not help get the car to turn over the only thing that showed up was an epc light. I left the car over night and came back to it the next day it started up just fine with no epc light. I took it to a repair shop and they were unable to diagnosis anything wrong with the car. I picked my car up on oct 30th. It ran fine with no hesitation up until the morning of 11/10/17. While driving on the freeway my car lost power and would not accelerate. I was able to pull it to the side of the road. My epc light, check engine light, and battery light all came on. The car would not turn over again. I reached out to the dealership and they told me to contact customer care through Volkswagen. When I reached out to customer care all they told me was to go back to the dealership and that they can't do anything for me because the recall is not complete. They have no offer of a loaner car or anything while I wait for them to fix the issue. So I'm left with a car that randomly shuts down and loses power from time to time. This is not acceptable.

10 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 09/09/2017

I have a 2010 Volkswagen Cc sport with a little more than 91872 miles on it. I was accelerating on the highway and my vehicle began to sputter. The epc light and the check engine warning light came one. My vehicle has had sluggish acceleration since then. I have noticed that this problem has occurred with several Volkswagen owners. There seems to be several different options when it comes to repairing this problem. The only thing that seems to be common is that it occurred when accelerating. The other thing that I have noticed is that this problem is not specific to one vehicle in the Volkswagen line up. This is definitely a manufacturers safety defect in their system that needs to be corrected before it causes an accident. I am aware of NHTSA recall number17v509 (manufacturer recall number20ae). This recall is for the fuel pump module which could result in a no start condition or a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion. The epc warning light has the same safety risk as this recall. This could result in a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

11 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 09/07/2017

My car suddenly began having trouble starting. It would take a few extra seconds to start and my check engine light was on. This was after driving about 7 miles and backing into my garage. I turned my car off and decided to back in a little further. This is when the above issues began. I drove the car to an auto repair shop the following day and the diagnosis was the timing chain needed to be replaced. This particular shop did not offer this service so I took it to a different repair shop which confirmed the diagnosis.

12 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 09/28/2015

My vehicle first had an abs light illuminate which caused an abs failure. I've read this is a common problem. Then most recently I had an epc code illuminate in addition to a check engine light. This caused the car to lose rpm and start misfiring. I had to replace all 4 coils on the vehicle. While at the shop my air conditioned stopped working correctly only functioning when on the 4 position. I hate this care more than anything and can only pray that vw may find it in their heart to buy it back!!!!.

14 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 04/16/2015

My vehicle has been a problem since I started my lease til now. I have constant problems with my light bulbs even after they are replaced they go out quickly and often. The car has stalled on me twice and cut off twice. I have multiple trips to the service center for the sme things fuel injector pump and the check engine light. This is a fairly new car. I am now stuck with the car for another five years. I will never purchase another volkwagen or refer anyone to buy one either. I would like my history to be pulled and reviewed as a audit. I truly believe I bought and lemon and it has cost me lots of money . I truly would like these problems investigated for the sake of every volkwagen customer.

15 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/08/2015

Dead battery at 37,200. Had car towed to local service shop and battery replaced. Drove home fine and next morning commuting to work, car started shaking and bucking violently. Check engine and epc light came on. Was able to drive very slowly at very high rpm (on interstate and then side roads) to get back to auto shop that replaced battery. They found ignition coils shut down and mis-firing. Transferred car to vw motor hunt valley to see if covered under power train warranty. One coil found dead, other 3 recommended for replacement. Not covered under powertrain warranty. Thanks for your help.

16 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 11/20/2014

Car drove fine in the morning. Drove it an hour later and it started to violently shake back and forth and the check engine light came one and started to blink and the epc light came on. Drove, slowly, to the dealer and was told ignition coils shut down and were mis-firing. After I picked it up, it started happening again and one misfired again. Fast forward 2 months and we had a dead battery at 4800, after driving all day. Fast forward a month and it started to shake again. After more than a month in the shop I got it back. It still shakes in the mornings sometimes. If I have to take it in again, I am sure it is a lemon. Ive never had the same persistent problem on a car in my life! needs a recall!!!!!.
