Failure Date: 04/15/2024

Started having problems with the fuel tank at around 65,000 I had an extended warranty on the vehicle and around 80,000 they replaced the entire fuel tank… recently, I started smelling gas very strongly inside my vehicle and took it to a honest mechanic who was able to find the fuel pump which is located behind the backseats he told me the pump is sweating and there’s a puddle of gas in it and that’s why I have the strong smear smell of gas in my vehicle. He says that it’s not even safe for me to drive the vehicle at this time and at this time, I’m trying to buy another car because I have to keep the windows down, so I don’t pass out from the smell of gas … I called appleton Volkswagen of sanford as they switched out the whole fuel tank at 80,000. The vehicle has about 190,000 now … there was just a recall put out for the fuel pump for certain Volkswagen year 2015 and above, but the Cc is not on this. ? I I feel like it should be in the recall because my car is very unsafe to drive and I’m scared that I’m gonna blow up a fire of flames right now just driving it to the repair they’re not because this is very unsafe …….

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 07/10/2023

Hi, I’ve had my turbocharge replaced in October of 2020 at the Volkswagen dealership in wichita, KS. Just recently my car started driving funny again such as not accelerating like it should with a slight whining noise. I can only get up to 25-30 mph then the whining noise starts up to where I have to take my foot off the gas, let my speed drop itself then proceed to accelerate again which is very dangerous. Since I had already experienced this problem not even 3 years ago I knew but I still went to get the car diagnosed and again it is the same exact problem not even 3 years later.

Error code p2015 was generated which is the air intake manifold. Volkswagen mechanic said we shouldn't drive very much due to it could get worse. Replacement would cost $1812. 50, local shop charged $893. 00. Volkswagen has since issued a extended warranty which my vehicle falls under but I'm getting push back on being reimbursed. What are my options?.

10 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 11/30/2020

Dealer states forward clutch and dual mass flywheel needs replacement based on diagnosis and mechanic experience as they cannot "check" these parts. They also state I need to replace injectors and have a "manual decarbon" procedure due to the direct injection system creating carbon deposits. These are apparently well known issue with this and similar vw models. The car has <100,000 miles and is 5 years old. These are not maintenance items per se and fall under the category of defective components/systems. Vw has extended the warranty on these transmissions for previous model years for many models but not on this one yet. Internet searches reveal many complaints of the same problems. The cost for repairs is $5,600.

11 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/04/2020

My vehicle was stationary and turned off. I went to get in the car start it and leave however when I tried to start the car it immediately started to ding over and over with the a message "error: driver airbag". It also would not let the car start. I had the battery tested its fine and the starter isn't even 6 months old nor the alternator. All the electronics in the car turn on lights, radio, windows up and down, etc. It says to start put my foot on the brake as well which I obviously did and it still says the same error message. It happened 2 times 1st on 12/31/2019 but then started out of nowhere and worked fine for a few days and then happened again 1/04/20, however this time the problem persists.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

I'm part of a class action lawsuit where I was denied after sending all of the pertinent information the attorney's requested. I have all documentation of the correspondence which was requested with contact information to the Volkswagen company and other recipients. The class action is "engine water pump settlement". The water pump was faulty in this vehicle and many others of this model. It was deemed a safety concern by the federal government of the united states. This has been in progress since 2019.

13 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2012 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/17/2019

Driving a 2012 vw Cc with 57,000 miles. Driving on highway at 70 mph and attempted to pass a slow moving truck. Accelerated quickly and mid pass the engine lost power and immediately went into "limp mode" with ecr light activated on the dash. Pulled over safely and turned off the engine. After collecting myself, I started engine to drive off highway. Car would not start. I sat a few moments in panic and tried again. The car started and I drove with ecr light on to next exit. The car was sluggish with little acceleration. Pulled to gas station and turned off again. Restarted and the engine rpms ran higher in idle so I turned off the car again. Let it sit and restarted and drove to auto zone where they did a code tester and was told p0229 underboost turbocharger was issue. Auto zone employee said he had seen it many times and its a known issue with 2. 0 turbo engines in vw and Audi. The report is attached. Auto zone reset the ecr light and the car was driven to final destination into arizona with no additional issues yet. . Read more...

15 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 03/16/2019

I was leaving the store when I noticed my vehicular wouldn't go over 30 mph. I pulled into another store to assess the situation. When I turned my car back on and was attempting to leave my car stopped working. I had it towed to the shop and they advised me to call Volkswagen because this issues was likely covered under a warranty. I called volkeswagen and they said my warranty would cover it up to 120k miles and to take it to the local dealership. I had the car towed again to the dealership and they informed me that the timing chain was broken and they said my warranty just expired at 100k miles. My car has 108k miles. After doing a lot of research I found this to be a frequent problem with this manufacture. I also found that there was already a class action lawsuit but my vehicle wasn't in the peramiters because of the mileage (ends at 100k). I never received notice of the recall or I would have taken it in to get looked at before the 100k mike cutoff. Because they said this wasn't covered in the warranty, I looked into buying another car from them. They informed me that they could give me $250 for my vehicle. Now I know Volkswagen is trying to avoid paying for this because they know they can make money.

I was driving my car headed out of town and noticed while driving my car started to accelerating on its on almost causing me to almost lose control and hit the person in front of me putting me and my family life in danger. We ended up turning around to head back home and on the way home we started smelling a strong gas the smell was so loud we ended up pulling over and calling for a ride also when stopped at a light or stop sign to long I noticed the vehicle would jump out of driving and switch into a different gear on it's own casing me to have to put my emergency signal lights on and restart the vehicle in order to get it back into driving everytime that happened I would notice that the d on the dashboard would be gone I ended up taking my vehicle to the dealership vw in bradenton FL so it could be looked at it had recalls it they also listed a few other things they needed to do so after them so called fixing it the cost I had to pay was $1,555. 88 so as I left I noticed the engine light was back on the car was still doing the same thing like it never was fixed I called the dealer and they told me to bring it back next Friday I ended up stopping to to check my oli level and noticed that vw dealer mechanic forgot to put my oil back in my car after fixing a small drip that they said wasnt that argent to fix and in I decided to go ahead and let them do anyways before I dropped my car off to vw I had just got a oil change 2 days before at this point I'm so hurt I'm a patient of 1 without a car now all because the vw forgot to put my oil back into my car when they got done my car is destroyed my $1,555. 88 >is gone my motor had no oil in and all I got was a sorry everything I worked worked hard from was taken away from me all in a blink of a eye😢.

17 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2009 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 01/31/2019

The epc light came on while driving. The car suddenly lost power, I kept having to take my foot off the gas, and then reapply, it eventually got up to a decent speed on the interstate, then suddenly lost all power regardless of what I did. Was almost hit by an 18 wheeler. This is the most dangerous and ridiculous thing to build a car that tells it to shut off when it first senses a problem. You guys almost cost me my life!!! this is the first vw I've ever owned and was told I would love it. Well, I've had it for 2 day's and I can tell you it won't stay around long if this continues to be a problem. Once I managed to get pulled over I shut the car off waited a min or so and restarted it. The light went off and the car drove like nothing ever happened. I have two small boys and this is a big concern for me. I've read post after post about this being an issue, there has to be something vw can figure out as to what is the main cause, and surely there should be a bypass to keep the car from just shutting off while driving.

23 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2010 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/03/2018

Fuel pump control module replaced and relocated on July 18th, 2018. However, on August 3rd, 2018, while driving alone in the #4 lane of the freeway, my car suddenly stopped. No warning. No chugging. The engine just stopped. Fortunately, there was enough traffic for the vehicles behind me to slow down to avoid me. I immediately turned my hazard lights on while desperately trying to get the car to turn back on. Thankfully it did within a minute or two giving me just enough time to cut across the highway to pull off to the side of the road. I immediately called the service department at my local dealership to inform them of what happened and they were perplexed and told me to take it to the nearest vw dealership if the engine light wasn't flashing, which at the time it wasn't. That dealership turned me away and told me I should be able to make it to my regular dealership. I was only able to drive about 10 more miles before my car completely shut off and would not start. I had my car towed to my regular dealership where they believe it may be the fuel pump. Since I had the recall completed prior, I am very fearful that I won't be so lucky next time. Had traffic been going at the regular speed, I believe I would have been seriously injured or dead. I need to be reassured that these recalls are done right and tested to ensure there aren't faulty parts and that safety is paramount.

24 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2011 Volkswagen CC

Failure Date: 08/02/2018

I received a recall for my fuel pump. I went and got the fuel pump replaced. Now that the fuel pump has been replaced, my car is not starting, shaking at red lights, turning off on its own, windows coming down on its own, air not working and coming back on. I was in motion backing up and my car just turned off on its on. I am at a standstill with what am I supposed to do if the vehicle had a recall- that was supposedly replaced but made the car worse.
