Will not take fuel. Even when the gasoline tank is empty it will not accept fuel properly. Fuel seeps out and leaks. Problem presents identically to the 2015-2020 vw & Audi recall. Vw doesn’t acknowledge my VIN as a vehicle with the problem. My car is on the identical platform as the Audi a3 and is fwd. My problem is identical to the recall but vw will not acknowledge the problem.

Safety recall on fuel rail bolts was originally performed by dealership on 30aug21. However, while driving to work 14may24 the car dumped a full tank of gas and had to be towed to dealership for repair. The technician found the fuel rail bolts missing.

When driving the car, it will randomly stall, lose power or not accelerate. Sometimes the epc light and oil light will illuminate other times it gives no warning. It shut off on the interstate while going 72mph. I have taken it to the dealership since a month after I got it and they keep telling me nothing is wrong with it. I have to get oil changes every month despite not driving it much and the gas consumption is 3tines what it should be. I’m having to fill the tank up three times a week despite going to and from work which is 9 miles from my home. I have taken it to the dealership and had to pay $1000s of dollars only for it to start having the same issues within a week.
The epc light and check engine light came on while driving, major car throttling, problems with acceleration, stronger throttling occurred with more acceleration. Car was immediately towed to nearest vw dealership service. Me and my son had to stop on the expressway far from home. Problems were confirmed at inspection by vw dealership on same day of incident. No symptoms or warnings occurred of problems before incident.
Check engine light is on. When it’s checked it says a fuel emissions leak. Code is cleared and then turns back on a month later.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the components that failed or malfunctioned include the rear brake system and the evap (evaporative emission control) system of my 2023 Volkswagen Jetta se 1. 5t fwd. Both components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the safety risks include premature wear of the rear brakes, which could lead to reduced braking efficiency or failure, especially under emergency braking situations. The evap system malfunction poses an environmental risk by potentially releasing excessive emissions, and it could also lead to engine performance issues, including stalling or hesitation during acceleration, which may cause hazardous driving conditions. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, the issues with both the rear brakes and the evap system have been reproduced and confirmed by the service departments at two authorized Volkswagen dealerships. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problems have not been fully resolved. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has been inspected multiple times by Volkswagen service departments, but no inspections have been conducted by the police or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, for the evap system, the check engine light illuminated repeatedly, indicating a malfunction. The brake issues were not accompanied by warning lamps but were noticeable through audible grinding noises and reduced braking performance, which started occurring within the first few thousand miles after purchasing the vehicle. The brake issue was first reported to the dealer when the vehicle had less than 10,000 miles.

-it is not pumping gas correctly, it started out as while I pump gas it will stop frequently. I brought it to the mechanic and they replaced the evap system canister & now (while pumping) it stops even more frequently than before. Now I can only pump about 3/4 full & when I get to "full" it overflows. -I believe it is a safety concern because it is the fuel tank system. -it is available for inspection. -the problem hasn't been reproduced, it has been confirmed that 2019 vw Jetta gli, 2019 vw golf sportwagen's, as well as some Audi's have been recalled for this problem. Has been confirmed that this is how it starts out. -no, there were not any indicators or symptoms prior to the problem beginning. It first started at the end of January of 2024.
I recently bought a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta tdi last owner wasn't aware of recalls, car started throwing white smoke, my local service mecanics northwest express auto care let me know that the problem is a recall on emission need to fix but dealer don't want to do it.

Even after having the fuel system replaced due to recall, I’m still smelling gas inside of my car. My epc light and check engine light keep coming on and don’t always stay on but when it comes on, while driving… my car will tell me to downshift and then there is no throttle, you can mash the gas pedal to the floor and only dash lights. It has also skipped the downshift indicator and just cut completely off while driving.
I had a recall on a fuel pump in the previous years. After that, if I was trying with about half a tank of gas and let’s say speeding up to get on the highway, the car epc light would come on and say can’t go over 4000 rpm . Then my car would speed would be so slow. I told the dealership about this before. Heard nothing. It is dangerous because I can’t speed up going onto the highway. Now this it happens when the gas is a lil more than half a tank. My car will slow down when speeding up . Almost feels like a jerk back and sounds like it. Sounds like something is gonna break and drop out of my car. I try to keep my gas up to avoid this but mostly I can’t. Ever since the pump got repair and covered by warranty/recall. . This is what happens. I slowly have to accelerate and speed up my car . Now I have a canister purge leak from a hose crack and I have read recalls but it doesn’t have my affected. I believe all of this goes together and the dealership should be paying for this. Also, the epc light does turn off once I stop somewhere and turn the car off and I turn it back on without even refueling the tank.
Everytime I fill with gas car will not start. I have to pump accelerator, then it will start. It starts normally on all other occasions. This has been happening for about 6 months or 5 thousand miles.

Refueling problems - early stopping of gas station fuel nozzles - then the fuel would spillback on me during the refueling at the gas station 4/10/2023 - early stopping of gas station fuel nozzles - remove and replace leak detection pump - evaporative emissions system and leak detection pump 7/27/2023 - continued early stopping then fuel spillback (very dangerous situation) during refueling - remove and replace gas tank - problems have not returned.
Unknown system failure or component. Ever since I've bought the vehicle in I believe 2017 from eich vw, it has consistently died while driving or idling. It also was "slamming on the brakes on its own" when the car would die. It jerks consistently as well. The latest out of hundreds of incidents, was yesterday, it stalled at a red light that had turned green, so I was stopped, I turned my hazards on immediately when it had stalled. The vehicle behind me went into the turn lane and the vehicle behind it was coming at me at 60+ mph as that was the speed limit on the road. There is no warning as to when it will stall, almost never any dash light, maybe only once or twice a year. And it can go weeks or even months without incident and then go crazy for weeks or months straight. It stalling out has almost killed me and my son when trying to cross the highway to get to his dad's house, in that situation me and my at the time when I used to take that way he was 1/2 years old, and we were almost t boned by the oncoming traffic after it had stalled. I have taken it to some many certified dealers and "experts" and no one can tell me what is wrong. It has now gotten to the point where it is happening so often I'm scared to put my three year old in my car. This is a very common issue Volkswagen knows about but won't acknowledge or do anything about, I did not know about it until after buying the car. There are no beforehand symptoms, there is no way to tell when it is going to happen, even the car is running perfectly fine before it happens. I know that service providers have been able to experience exactly what happens, but they may not remember as this has been going on for years and I'm not their only customer, and I don't even remember everywhere I've been to try and fix the problem. But it is something I have been publicly asking about and complaining about for years. My ex who works for Toyota, even experienced it when we first met, and we had to have my car towed.

Fuel rail failed causing gas leak. Part was previously recalled and fixed, failed for same issue that caused original recall.
Accelerator petal does not always result in acceleration from a stopped position. This causes the hill assist to hold and does not allow movement forward, resulting in an engine stall. The vehicle has also set the epc light while traveling resulting in reduced engine power to the point of not enough power to move forward. Turn the ignition off, then on resets the epc and limb mode.
The purge valve and hose assembly for the evap system has failed and is leaking gas fumes into the cabin.
I purchased a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta from north coast auto mall on March 19, 2023 and the following day several issues went wrong with the vehicle like: the car reeked of gasoline, oil and engine lights came on, driver side head light blew out. Also, I was told that the car had an inspection, come to find out they didn't do an inspection by north coast service manager, so they lied. Also, the reason for the gasoline smell is because the vehicle needs a fuel rack, oil pan, oil pressure switch, and a new headlight. Too many things are going wrong with this car in such a short period of time. It took north coast two weeks to take my vehicle and they didn't want to give me a loaner car. Also, they have had my vehicle since March 28, 2023 and refuse to disclose of the reconditioning shop of my vehicle. They moved my car from Volkswagen of streetsboro to north coast to another undisclosed location that they won't disclose. Lastly, the car was unsafe for me and my special needs son. He couldn't even ride in my car due to the bad gasoline fumes and I had to ride with the windows down, and come to find out the car could have caught on fire or exploded.

Driving on the interstate, my spouse stated that the car just lost power. Fortunately, he was able to pull off. But once he tried to start the car, it wouldn't do anything. The car was towed to my home. We took the car to the local vw dealer to have the recall completed. Since the car had to be towed there, we were told that we would have to pay $500 for a diagnostic before anything can be completed. I took the car to a local repairman and he stated that the fuel pump was bad. We replaced it and the battery. The car now will not start at all. We are getting an error of "hybrid system failure", "air bag failure", epc light is on and transmission warning. The car tries to start but will not.
Bad bearing in left front wheel. Radio shuts down anytime even when reverse camera is active. Front collision warning and auto braking for clear road, no obstruction. Smog warning override when check engine light for fuel system delivery done by mechanic at flow vw of greensboro nc. Car has been in shop for all of these problems and nothing has been fixed. New radio installed but it still shuts down whenever. Every repair they have done has only damaged more parts of the car.
Car cut off twice while driving and could not be restarted for 14 - 25 minutes. This happened while driving. I took it to both an independent mechanic and a vw dealer, bit they were unable to diagnose the issue. Also, after being driven, intermittently the car will not start for 15 - 25 min. Other drivers are also having this issue. . Read more...
Electronic power control (epc) issue: the car unit bogs down the acceleration and limits the rpms, making it dangerous to drive on high way or even local road. The issue pops up spontaneously but went away after car was off for hour and restarted. Engine runs ruff and shacks along with laud banging sounds from under car. Suspect sensors, other messages seem to be out of place, such as "turn lights on" in morning when driving directly into sun light or the large red accident display with nothing around at all, different locations. Scan taken of car by dealer, nothing to explain why, however 2 plugs were somewhat dirty & will be replaced, only 1800 miles on car. Other errors on display, the yellow front assist which switched between that and the ecp, to far left under the temperature a yellow triangle priority symbol (some what red) these all came on at time of fault. Speed varied from 20 to 30 even when pushing pedal to bottom.

My car went into limp mode and smelled heavily of gas I went to a garage to have it checked out and they told me there diagnostic said it was fuel rail.
When going fast real quick the car start to smell like something is burning. My right light isn’t working right.
I brought my car in for the 60k service and the check engine light had just turned on. After being told they had to run a diagnostic and keep my car for several days, the dealership came back with "it had a fault for a purge valve. Tested the purge valve with a vacuum tester and found it would not hold a vacuum. " I was asked if my emissions was due soon, but I had emissions completed two months ago with no problems. This issue is a big deal and I know vw has had many public issues with their emissions. I barely drive this car and to have such a major issue occur is mind blowing. The dealership quoted me $890. For this repair when I see the average cost of this repair is about $300-400 with parts. I had it completed, but no one wants to talk to me about why I was charged so much when this technically should be a recall.
This is the same thong that was recalled on the other 2020 vw Jetta. . I also had a 2016 Jettabefore I was allowed to trade it in for the 2020 Jetta and the air went out on the both of them before the car was 2 years old. Now the 2020 has rain water coming in holding in the doors. When you open it the water comes out. What's showing 1. Front assist not available 2. Fault electronic parking brake 3. Transmission in emergency mode you can continue driving 4. Only exit vehicle in p position service engine soon number 3 has shown before and I had another transmission put in. Also engine light was on for the longest. I'm not sure of the exact date. I do have repair bills but I will have to go in my storage unit. Would like to send later.
This letter is not that I've had a component failure, but that I am concerned about the published failure rate of my bosch cp4, high pressure fuel pump. I've read multiple horror stories of people who had catastrophic fuel pump failure on their diesel car or truck. I just came to my attention that on June 15, 2022, the NHTSA and Chrysler have issued a recall for the cp4 fuel pumps that were installed on Jeep grand cherokees 2014-2020, and ram 1500s 2014-2019, all of them had the 3. 0l diesel engines. It is my assertion that if the NHTSA has issued a recall because of those afore mentioned fuel pumps, that your office should do the same for the vw cars that have the bosch cp4 diesel fuel pump as well. In your letter dated June 15, 2022, address to karen blaesser at Chrysler(campaign number 22v-406), it states the the fuel pump can fail introducing internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel stavation. It goes on to say that the consequence of that fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. I would like to ask the NHTSA to make the same ruling on the vw vehicles that have the cp4 fuel pumps. I have heard that pump failure will result in thousands of dollars in repair costs to get the car back on the road. Another important fact that should be interjected is the fact that vw or the Volkswagen Audi group should have known that the pumps would prematurely fail because of the ultra low sulfur diesel fuel that we have in the USA. Over in the eu, they use a different formulation of diesel fuel, one that offers better lubricity for the fuel pumps. In 2006, the federal government mandated the use of that ulsd fuel. Another important fact to consider is that vw replaced their reliable cp3 fuel pumps for the newer cp4. That change was a cost saving measure that has cost many consumers a lot of money.

The problem happens when the car is on, and when attempting to accelerate the car will feel like it was put into neutral and you cannot do anything other than coast. The car has done this a few times while driving. Also, when trying to accelerate from a stop at a signal light, the car can suddenly stall, and you won't be able to do anything. From a safety standpoint, this is very bad since if you had to quickly accelerate to avoid a collision or other possible scenario and the car won't move, or accelerate, to reach speeds on a freeway or highway. Problem occurred last night when attempting to accelerate and merge onto the highway, felt like the car was in neutral ('d' light was blinking as well as the 'hybrid' light). What is concerning is that vw did know about this problem and they only did a recall for very small number of vehicles. We called vw and they said no recalls on our 2016 Jetta hybrid for this problem. I'm reporting the problem here because we have experienced the same problem multiple times and the dealer said to replace the mechatronic j743 unit, this was very cost prohibited for us at the time.
The car turns off while driving and it has put me in several safety problems that I feel could an accident.
Car misreads gas, such as I can be driving and the gas meter will continue to rise. This will happen if/when the car is turned off for various periods of time. On occasion it might correct itself. Usually is will jump drastically. For example, my average is 440 per gallon. If I drive around town, it might go up to 550 in that drive. I can park, turn off, and restart, and the gas mileage might be the same or it might lower. During one drive it will jump from 550 to 320, or whatever.
You will be driving the car and it will shut off with no warning. You can not steer th ecat you have no brakes.
Vw issued a recall (20e064000) for the transmission failing to engage though vw is claiming vehicles within the year range specified and with the exact same problem are not included in the recall. A quick search on complaints on safercar. Gov will show vw is not actually fixing this issue but pushing customers along saying they are not covered. This is a huge safety issue that vw is skirting around. I was told my car - within the years affects and with the same problem - is not included in this recall.
Metal on metal sound at low speeds, whirring grinding noise. Then when it gets a little gas it lurches forward like a maniac and the sound goes away til speeds drop again. If the Jetta starts leaking fluids like others complain of then maybe vw will have to acknowledge that this cars transmission and turbo systems are truly messed up. Someone is going to get hurt.
I have been having issues with the evap system in my 2021 vw Jetta. It has been in the shop at least 7 times since around 12k miles for the same issue. They have replaced all parts and upgraded the software several times and it is still an issue. My check engine light comes on and off all the time. It is just over a year old with almost 50k miles and they say that they are waiting on an update from vw and until then there is nothing they can do.
