Vehicle started leaking fluids 2 weeks after purchasing. The car has now been in 6 times for leaking oil fluids, as well as noisy brakes, and a bucking tranny. Has had seals replaced, boot replaced and is now leaking again 1/2021 in the front, and also leaking in the rear of the car. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

The vehicle checks engine and oil light often appear in the panel, even after change the oil and the car show no leaking. The oil was changed always by vw, who never detected any problem, even when the paper they gave to us says, our technician has inspected your vehicle. We left the car in vw service we received the diagnostic: "replace timing chain and turbo. " by the way, this is the third time they replace the turbo: original one, and 2 replacement. After they change the turbo, they discovered a new problem with camshaft. Our car has the mpp coverage, the last owner has too. All the repair and oil change never be made by outside of vw. This cost to our coverage and for us a lot of money and we spend a lot of time without the car. We would do like an answer from vw about this situation because the car still has a problem with vibration.

The plastic oil pan at the bottom of the engine of my 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan 2. 0t started leaking while I was on the highway, nearly stranding my family. It was very disappointing to see any vehicle using a fragile, unprotected plastic oil pan at the bottom of the engine, especially the Tiguan, which is marketed as a sport utility vehicle.
Rear main oil seal design is insignificant. My blown out seal leaked oil onto heated engine components and caused smoke/oil vapors to be pulled into cabin area. Vehicle fire could have been possible. The vehicle was parked and idling at the time of the incident but could have just as well been driving down the road.

Engine oil leak was noticed first when parked. After first repair (November 01, 2018), it started to leak again only after two days from repair. Then it was again repaired, but it started to leak the same day again even a new oil pan was replaced. Now t is under repairing again (not sure the cost and possibility to fix yet). This represents a safety issue that may cause a fire or eventually engine to fail. May provide repair report from dealer once it is finalized. Thank you.
Engine oil will leak from intake camshaft adjustment valve. Leak was noticed first when parked. After first repair by dealer (11 July 2018), it started to leak again only after five days from repair. This represents a safety issue that may cause a fire or eventually engine to fail. Can provide repair report from dealer (first repair) and second once it is finalized. Thank you.

Timing chain - driving on the highway and the engine made a clicking wining noise and came to a stop. It was the timing chain. The oil breather/rear main seal is also leaking.
Turbocharger leaks oil.
Engine shudders as if it will stall but does not. Happens after cold start, goes away with slowly revving engine in park. Triggers engine light to come on. Oil being pushed out of cylinders and leaking under engine. Also happens occasionally when coming to a stop.
The motor started to run rough. It was ideling from 1500 to 2000 rpm. I was told it is the pressure control valve. I changed the diaphram in the p. C. V. It was torn . It also caused my rear main motor seal to start to leak oil. Problem only got worse as now I have a fuel injector stuck shut. I drive city only . Car has 76000 miles on it . Rear main seal blew because of the faulty p. C. V. It controls engine and oil preassure. Estimated repair is 1500. 00to 2200. 00 . I have read this has happened to some other vw Tiguan owners. Thalk you carl checko.

Noticed oil leak on otherwise spotless driveway a few days after 100k service at vw dealership. Returned to dealer where rear main seal was identified as the source. Estimate was $1400 total cost to repair along with oil hoses to turbo. Discussed details and frequency of rms repair with tech, since transmission has to be removed. Also researched vw forum threads on rms failure to find that 2008+ model vws are most affected, 2009 Tiguans in particular. Of the 13 complaints on the NHTSA site regarding failed rear main seals on vws, more than half (7 of 13 = 54%) are from owners of 2009 Tiguans. (3 of 13 complaints were for 2009 passats, with 1 each for a 2009 cc, a 2011 Tiguan, and a 2012 jetta. ). Even with this small sampling, having 54% of the rms failures affecting the same model (tiguan) of the same model year (2009) is more than a coincidence. It shows a trend. Volkswagen of America acknowledges no such trend, and vw customer care refuses any responsibility beyond warranty.

Engine was leaking oil onto ground in several locations near the front of the vehicle. No check engine light or any other warning system indicated a problem. Took vehicle in for service and found the rear main seal was the cause for the leak. Rear main seal was replaced and test drive indicated that this was the primary leak source. Subsequently, two other minor leaks were found and repaired to the oil return line o-ring and the engine vacuum pump gasket respectively.
The engines rear main oil seal started leaking. Brought it to Volkswagen dealer where the car was bought and stated that there was thought to be an oil leak and while the oil change was done if they could take a look it would be greatly appreciated. Now at 65000 miles and 5000 over the factory warranty they finally acknowledge the problem and are wanting over $1500 to fix it. The whole underside of the car is soaked in oil and my once nice driveway looks like a truck stop. Volkswagen refuses to work with us. I find it absolutely ridiculous that such a new car should have such an expensive issue with so little miles. My work truck has 300k miles and has yet to drip even a drop of oil in my driveway. . . And its over 10 years old. The biggest kicker is the dealers lack to acknowledge the problem till well after the warranty was passed.
