1 Battery Dead problem of the 2005 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/17/2020

My battery would be dead if I didn't drive my car every day. Then I found out there is a parasitic drain on the battery from a faulty hands-free bluetooth module. I watched a video then disconnected mine myself, problem solved. I've used a headlight restoration kit because the lights are yellow and they have spider-cracks all in them, it really affects the brightness of the light itself. The dashboard is cracked beyond repair and I'm terrified of getting into a wreck in my car, the dash would become shrapnel!.

4 Battery Dead problem of the 2006 Acura TL

Failure Date: 11/23/2015

I have been dealing with this serious electrical issue for nearly 4 years now. I have gone through 5-6 batteries and have been stranded numerous places as the car doesn't start after a period of time. This is no okay when you have children, it's a safety issue and Acura needs to fix it! with nearly 50,000 miles on my car, my whole navigation system failed. I opted not to have it fixed because they wanted to first try having me buy new cd's to update the system. In conjunction with that fail, the battery dies after a day of not being started. . . Sometimes even over night. I have read that several cars have faulty hfl that heat up and cause this problem. The hfl was hot to touch when I went to disable it. I disconnected mine so that a fire would not start putting me and my family at risk. The electrical dash displays quit working when the navigation system failed making it impossible to see or change the clock and radio displays. Even with the hfl link disabled which is what the dealarships suggest for resolving the battery drain issues, the car still loses battery power. I am a concerned parent and feel that this should have been recalled a long time ago as there is plenty of evidence from many documenting this ongoing problem. It is not okay that the battery or electrical system may fail in the middle of driving and causing accidents or deaths. That coupled with freezing temperatures and I am driving two small children around in a car that has a great deal of safety concerns!.

5 Battery Dead problem of the 2005 Acura TL

Failure Date: 12/11/2014

The car is been sitting for about 4 days and the battery is dead again. This has been the issue since I bought the car. It was taken to the dealer when this first happened and I was assured that the problem has been fixed. However, over the years I have replaced numerous batteries. Internet research proved that the problem is with hands free system and Acura knows about the problem for long but has done nothing to fix it.

6 Battery Dead problem of the 2008 Acura TL

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

Hands free link module has failed. It now causes battery drain, causing the battery to fail after 1 week of not driving. Now on my 3rd battery in two months. This is a known problem across the Acura models with hands free link, referenced in the Acura forums. Additionally, not having a hands free system for cellular use poses a major public safety risk.

7 Battery Dead problem of the 2007 Acura TL

Failure Date: 04/29/2014

After being parked for about 2 weeks the battery started fine. I drove 10 miles, turned off the car for 1 hour, tried to start the car again and the engine would not turn over. The inside lights were on but the headlights were dim. After trying to start the car several times both the inside lights and the headlights were completely out. I had to call aaa for a jump because the battery was dead. I thought this was odd but then I remembered a friend of mines has a 2008 Tl and he has to jump his battery weekly. So I did an internet search and learned that thousands of Acura owners are having the same problem and most attribute the problem to the hands free link systems (hfl). So I called Acura and they confirmed that the cause is most likely due to hands free link system. Why hasn't this been a recall? is Acura waiting for some to die first? this is safety issue and a racket! the dealer charges nearly $200 to diagnose the problem and several hundred more dollars to fix it. A recall is warranted!!!.

8 Battery Dead problem of the 2006 Acura TL

Failure Date: 10/21/2013

My 2006 Acura Tl hands free link stopped working. I tried to reboot the system but the screen never changed from the "rebooting" message. A few days later the battery died. I had the battery replaced and had to enter new codes in the radio and navigation systems. Now the navigation and radio do not communicate so there is no voice for the navigation, the clock will not reset and the bluetooth still doesn't work. On top of that, my transmission blew and so did the power steering pump. While it was at the dealer, they tried to fix the issue but said the don't know what is wrong so just replace the whole unit. Which costs $500. I read other Acura owner have the same issue and I beg of Acura to recall the unit.

9 Battery Dead problem of the 2007 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/21/2012

My battery failed for the second time in a couple of months and required a jump in order for the car to start. I took it to an Acura dealership where they determined that the handsfree link system was electrically faulty and was staying on continuously, whether the car was running or not. Hence, there was a constant draw on the battery. To (hopefully) resolve the problem, I had the dealership replace the battery and the handsfree link system.

10 Battery Dead problem of the 2006 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/02/2012

Since I bought my Tl brand new if it sits 2 days or more the battery dies. Once the car is turned off you can hear clicking in the dash. I have purchased a new battery for this vehicle every year and a half. The bluetooth quit within 3 years. Then the dashboard started showing a rectangle image about 3 years in. My Acura is garage kept and well taken care of. Got in my car one morning and there is a crack on each side of the airbag going from windshield to passenger seat. This seems extremely dangerous. Not to mention very concerning. This is an expensive luxury car. This should not be happening.
