Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Acura Tl. The contact stated that the dash board had a crack, causing the air bag sensor to illuminate on the instrument panel. The dealer diagnosed that the air bag sensor and the dash board cracked as a result of excessively hot weather. The manufacturer was notified but did assist the contact with repairs to the failure. 3 Instrument Panel problem of the 2007 Acura TL

Failure Date: 08/29/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Acura Tl. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stopped and the key would not release from the ignition. Also, the vehicle doors would not unlock. The engine restarted after several attempts and stalled. All the instrument panel warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, but they could not determine the cause of the failure. The technician stated that the computer was wet from an unknown substance and the failure could possibly recur. Currently, the vehicle is undergoing diagnostic testing and the defective computer is being replaced. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. The failure and current mileages were 14,000.

4 Instrument Panel problem of the 1999 Acura TL

Failure Date: 07/08/2007

The contact owns a 1999 Acura 3. 2tl. While driving 35 mph, the instrument panel gauges stopped operating and smoke appeared from the steering column. The contact pulled over until the smoke stopped. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was serviced for NHTSA recall # 03v423000 (electrical system:ignition:switch) at 80,000 miles.
