Air bag control modulator diagnosed as defective by dealer caused air bag warning lamp and passenger air bag lamp to illuminate. Dealer informed that the modulator controls deployment of airbags and the defective modulator could cause airbags to not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing risk of personal injury. The airbag warning light illuminates 30 seconds after ignition indicating a defect in the air bags deployment system.

Takata recall I was involved in a traffic accident on 05/05/2017. I was hit by another vehicle on the passenger side of my vehicle while I was making a left hand turn. I was hit so hard that I was driven into an automobile that was waiting at the traffic light to make a turn. Both sides of my automobile were damaged. The windshield on the passenger side was broken. The air bags did not deploy. I had taken the automobile to the dealer when I received the air bag recall approximately one year ago.

Vehicle has 2 recalls, the first one being for a passenger seat occupancy sensor which causes the passenger airbag to not deploy. I have called BMW denver downtown (303-954-4856) and thus far they have refused to perform the recall. They keep telling me they don't have the part for it. When asked for an eta, the only thing they are telling me is that they don't have an eta, and that the part may never be available. This is the only BMW dealer anywhere near my area that is able to perform the recall. My vehicle has the occupancy sensor error displayed on the dash, so I know for a fact the part covered under the recall has already failed. BMW of denver's failure to perform this recall is placing my family in danger in case of an accident.
Since 2014 I have had to replace 3 oem rims for cracking. This has caused me much inconvenience and time and money to replace not only the rims but at times the tire itself. BMW's failure to disclose the fact that the BMW rtf alloy wheels prematurely crack is especially egregious in light of the safety hazard resulting from driving with a cracked wheel, due to the loss of tire pressure that typically ensues. Moreover, the possibility of a loss in tire pressure while driving the subject vehicles would be a material fact to a reasonable consumer. A case was awarded for the z car model in the us and another for my model using this similar argument about the rims in the u. K. But BMW refuses to entertain it the BMW alloy wheels are subject to cracking under normal driving conditions, creating a safety hazard and necessitating replacement or repair of the wheel and sometimes the tire, at substantial cost to the consumer. Most recently, and most alarming, I received a "fault in passenger-restraint system affecting my airbag" when I started my car up two-weeks ago. I have done plenty of research and found that a BMW safety recall was made on the exact year and model (2006 BMW 330i), but my VIN is not covered because it did not come with the specific sport seats, it was called under. I do not understand if so many individuals in BMW forums are having this same issue without having the "sport seats" but we share the same model, make and year as the one NHTSA originally got recalled recalled, why my VIN is not covered. This is a huge liability on Bmws end and no coincidence. Should I get in an accident with a passenger, the airbag will not deploy. . Read more...
This BMW had a recall, we bought this car from a dealer ship March 2016, seatbelt and air bag light just came on. BMW should check this out at no cost and the recall should not be closed or there should be an exception when you buy a used BMW. It's a hazard if the air bag does not deploy or the seatbelt does not work.

When my car reached ~75,000 miles, the passenger restraint system malfunction notification started to appear on the center console. The message seems to convey that the airbags will not deploy in an accident. After speaking with BMW and finding out that my car falls under the recall for this exact situation. BMW refused to fix it and states that my VIN is not listed under the recall, even though the recall states that it affects 2006 3-series with sport seats (which is exactly what I have).
I have a 2006 BMW 330xi sport and when a passenger sits in the car, I receive a passenger airbag malfunction light. I was told by park Ave BMW in NJ that my vehicle does not qualify under the recall. Recall id # 57362 - air bags:frontal recall date Aug 05, 2008 recall date: Aug 05, 2008 model affected: 2006 BMW 3-series summary: BMW is recalling 200,000 my 2006 3 series sport seat, my 2004-2006 5 series standard and sport seat, and my 2004-2006 x3 passenger vehicles. Depending on the manner and frequency of the front passenger's entry and exit, small cracks have developed in the mat. If this occurs, the front passenger air bags, with the exception of the head protection system, will be deactivated and the air bag warning lamp as well as the passenger air bag "on-off" lamp will be illuminated. Consequences: in this situation the front passenger air bags will not deploy even if a sufficiently severe accident would occur and occupant protection provided by the system would not be possible. Remedy: dealers will rework the front passenger seat sensor mat so that external force application to the seat does not cause a crack to the mat. The recall began on November 6, 2008. BMW will also extend the warranty on these vehicles to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit. Owners may contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417. Potential units affected: 200000 notes: BMW of north America, llc.
My car began displaying a "passenger restraint failure" which appears identical to the a recall in 2008 (see below description). I have the exact model and trim (2006 330i with sport package) as the recall, but upon contacting BMW of north America, they stated my vehicle's VIN 'does not qualify' for the recall. I find this ridiculous, as it is a known defect (thus the recall) for the model and trim (sport seats) that are in my car. This is a clear safety defect but BMW refuses to repair it. Instead, I am facing an $800-$1200 repair which is unconscionable. I should not have to pay to repair a known safety defect with the car!!! recall id # 57362 - air bags:frontal recall date Aug 05, 2008 recall date: Aug 05, 2008 model affected: 2006 BMW 3-series summary: BMW is recalling 200,000 my 2006 3 series sport seat, my 2004-2006 5 series standard and sport seat, and my 2004-2006 x3 passenger vehicles. Has an airbag/seat belt light eliminated on the dash. BMW has diagnosed it as a failed passenger seat sensor. 2006 330i sports seats were recalled for this item in 2008. After ~50,00 miles the passenger restraint system malfunction notification started to appear on the center console. The message continued to appear randomly, and now at ~70,000 miles, the message is permanently on. The message seems to convey that the airbags will not deploy in an accident. BMW has refused to fix the issue.
The airbag light started to illuminate in early April of 2012. According to a local mechanic, he said the issue was related to a firing mechanism in the driver's side seat belt which has failed. The mechanic reset the airbag light, but it came back on about a month later. The mechanic stated the driver's side seatbelt latch needed to be replaced and it would cost $500. Until this issue is resolved, the airbag will not deploy. Vehicle only has 100k miles on it.

The passenger airbag warning light and seat belt warning light for the passenger are constantly on, indicating the passenger airbag will not deploy. This happens regardless if a passenger is sitting in the passenger seat or not. My vehicle is equipped with sport seats. There is a recall in order for this exact problem, but my 2006 330xi was not included in the recall for some reason. Here is the #: NHTSA action number: ea08001 there are multiple cases for 2006 BMW 330 (xi and I models) that are now having this issue. . Read more...
Randomly while there is either weight from a bag or a person in the front passenger seat, the seatbelt light will appear on the dash and the passenger airbag off light will light up on the roof. This tells me that the airbag will not deploy even though there is someone in the seat in the event of an accident.
Passenger side air bag error consistent with front passenger seat pressure mat recall notice. BMW online recall check revealed that this vehicle identification number was not included in the recall either. BMW refused to replace and will not tell me if the air bag will or will not deploy in an accident.
Airbags did not deploy in a severe accident.
On 14 September 2008 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident involving my 2004 BMW 330ci convertible. We had a vehicle run a left turn red light into us as we were passing through the intersection in kent wa. I estimate the impact was probably equivalent to a 50 to 60 mph collision. It was observed that the air bags did not deploy but the roll over roll bar did. With the recall of air bags for the BMW I think it may also apply to the 2004 3 series also. If the airbags would have deployed it may have eliminated some aches and pains that we are suffering from. There were no serious injuries. Damage to the BMW involved the front bumper, hood, and other damage to radiator for a total of about 4300. I will be checking with BMW as to what speed should the air bags deploy.
