His wife was able to contact 911, who was delayed in locating the incident site. The fire department, ambulance, and police department were on the scene. The contact was treated at the scene by the ambulance. The contact went to a walk-in clinic the next day, where medical attention was provided. There was no reported fire or police report filed due to the lack of identification of any damage. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who determined there was damage to the undercarriage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact had written a letter to send to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 51,443.

Vehicle is relatively new and kept in great shape. No damage nothing, one day the sensor for passenger airbag malfunction appears indicating that passenger airbag will not deploy in event of a crash. Dealership says it’s not covered under warranty and have to pay to replace out of pocket costing multiple thousands of dollars. Error seems manufacturer defect.

My car has ver been wrecked or received any damage to any part of it. While driving to work the following warning popped up on screen. Restraint system warning, functionality of the airbags, seatbelt tensions, belt force limits reduced.

Going into a parking spot. Applied brakes, then the car did not brake, then it accelerated hitting a Jeep and finally stopped when the driver side front hit a parking barrier and then the air bags deployed. Sudden unintended acceleration was the cause of this accident. Car was totaled.

I was getting ready to leave my home and both front airbags deployed on me, which also resulted in my windshield breaking. I did not hit anything with the vehicle. I then looked up the VIN and noticed the 2 open recalls one is for the airbags, I contacted BMW left the service manager numerous voicemails he never returned any of my calls. Then I contacted BMW north America, I got the vehicle towed to BMW of carslbad just before thanksgiving 2024 I just picked up my vehicle on January 6 2025 and they did not fix the recalls on the vehicle. I have been without a vehicle since before thanksgiving!! I have health issues and I am missing appointments. I am on a fixed income my husband just passed away. I need someone to help me I keep getting the run around. If there are open recalls they need to be fixed I don't understand.

The contact owned a 2020 BMW 330i. The contact stated that while accelerating from a complete stop and making a left turn, another vehicle, trying to beat the light and driving 60 mph, crashed into the driver's side of the vehicle. The contact was trapped because the front driver's side door failed to open. The air bags failed to deploy. The police officers delayed their arrival, and a police report was not filed. The contact was in shock. The contact drove to the residence and was able to exit the vehicle through the front passenger's side door. The contact sustained c8-t1 nerve injuries, spinal injuries, and underwent surgery, developed myelopathy, severe ptsd, severe whiplash, and the contact sustained right eye bruises after hitting her eye against the steering wheel. The t1 neck screw that was previously installed in the contact's neck had backed out due to the impact and was replaced. The contact was informed that she nearly sustained paralysis due to the crash impact. The vehicle was taken to an autobody repair shop, and the vehicle was totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent an engineer who performed the vehicle inspection. The manufacturer later sent a letter to the contact, providing an engineering explanation for the air bag's failure to deploy. The failure mileage was approximately 6,500.

Over time, the wiring harness going to the knee air bag(s) can rub against the metal support tubes for the instrument panel, chafing and damaging the wiring. Sib 65 20 22.

My airbag light is on. I checked the website, and realize that there is a recall for takata airbags, however, when I input my VIN#, my vehicle does not show the active recall. There is an alert on the website that says "do not drive". . . . I cannot get any assistance from takata when I call; they keep telling me that my car is not included. I don't believe it is safe to drive my car, and can't get any help.

Passenger safety restraint system warning occurred. Meaning passenger air bag is not effective. Upon searching internet for the problem I realized this has been a common issue with BMW's for years. It is a very expensive fix and is a safety hazard. My dealership wants $2700 to fix the pressure sensor in the passenger seat. Until I can get this fixed I am not going to transport any passengers in the front seat, just to be safe.

Passenger restraint system malfunction just came out of the blue. In the morning it was fine, in the afternoon when I went out to my car it threw this error. Other cars in the 5 and x series with the sport seats I have were also recalled for this same issue, but there is no recall for my car. Please help!.

My car had been sitting across the street from my house for about 3 weeks after I had gotten it back from the body shop. It had been hit on the drivers side by a drunk driver when parked in front of my house. He took out six cars in a row. Heard a loud noise about 2 am - looked out the window and saw nothing. But then the fire trucks showed up after someone called them when they heard the bang. According to the firemen, it was probably caused by an electrical fire even though there were no visible flames. But the inside was filled with thick gray smoke which also came out of the trunk when they opened it. , the air bag was activated on the driver's side - the windshield was broken and the interior was a melted mess. The dashboard was melted on the driver’s side and the window was blackened. . The drivers side was where the damage had been from the accident. I do not think it coincidence. It seems I am not the only person whose BMW has spontaneously caught on fire. I did get BMW involved as far as sending documentation and talking to a rep. They of course were blameless. They did say they believe it was caused by an error made during a repair that allowed the rain water to get into the wiring. It had been raining hard for a couple days. But they could not say based on what I sent them if it was the body shop that did the most recent repair that made the error or it was done prior to that by another shop. But that they would not be investigating further. My much loved BMW been totaled and I will never what caused it.

While backing out of a short driveway and placed t to drive, the vehicle revved and started speeding out of control with brakes applied. The vehicle sideswiped a neighbors vehicle before crashing head on into a tree causing it to stop. I had jerked up the emergency brake and ripped the key out of the ignition. The replaced airbags did not deploy.

Had a passenger restraint system malfunction error warning light. Took the car to the dealer for service and they replaced the air bag repair wiring harness from the acsm (air bag control unit) control module to both knee air bags. This did not fix the error, so they then replaced the air bag control unit. Error message is now not present. Dealer stated air bags would not deploy unless I had the repairs done, yet they stated that this safety issue was not covered by my warranty. Car is 2019 model with less than 20,000 miles.

The time in which the degradation to the propellant poses an unreasonable risk to safety is stated as a 10-15 year time frame. My car is almost 18 years old but BMW has not prioritized my vehicle's airbag. My VIN number might not have made the list for zone a but its in zone b. Message on console - " passenger restraint system malfunction ". Took vehicle in for repair; BMW dealership "thinks" it may be a wiring harness electrical short. They evidently need to discuss problem with BMW corporate to figure out to properly diagnose problem and how to repair. My husband and I are very concerned about driving this car even after it may be "so called" repaired. We are concerned that if an accident does occur, and one or more of the airbags do not deploy; there may be serious injury or death to myself, my husband, grandkids, or other passengers.

Air bags deployed after collision, vehicle has been released from falcon towing 15600 s main st, gardena, CA 90248 to automobile club for inspection. Injuries sustained from airbag deploying include, but are not limited to, lacerations, abrasions, bruising as a broken rib and collapsed lung.

The contact stated while driving at a undisclosed speed the contact was making a u-turn when the another driver t- bone and crashed into the contact on the rear passenger side door. The air bags did not deployed. There was no medical treatment at the scene however the next day the contact and her grandson went to hospital. The contact sustained injury to their back while her grand son injured his neck and back. A police report was filed. The contact had the vehicle towed a towed yard where it was later deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.

We took our recently purchased BMW 2006 330xi in for recalls and a few fixes. However, the BMW service center wasn't able to fix one of the issues through the recall process since it doesn't show up for our vehicle. However, everything that I read suggests that it was a recall for this make and model. We are not sure if it was supposedly addressed before we purchased the vehicle and it is now a reoccurring issue or it is a first-time issue. The airbag/seatbelt warning light is present for passenger seat occupancy detector faults. The BMW service center said it was the sensor in the front passenger seat and offered to fix it for $1000 plus. We opted to not fix it until we checked further into the situation. The light for the passenger airbag saying that it is off is currently lit, and the airbag/seatbelt light remains on at this time. Looking for more information on this issue.

I was driving about 35mph and hit a pot hole in the road. That caused my passenger front, passenger side door, and passenger aide door top to deploy.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Passénger seat occupancy seat mat has failed and passenger air bag system does not work. Diagnosed recently- repair scheduled soon for cost of $1588. 35 it looks like there may have been a recall in 2017 but I don’t have any record of being notified or having it fixed.

Went through a pot hole in the freeway and the driver side door air bags deployed. . Air bag only show half fill. . My speed about 60 mph. . Is this how it works. No damaged except needed wheel alignment.

Driver side stage 1 airbag malfunction occurring in my vehicle with a dash light. When I search my VIN for this recall, it does not show up. But it does show that there was a recall for 2006 BMW 330xi's and other 3 series. This problem needs to be addressed for every 2006-2011 BMW 3 series because it affected all of the cars. Why is this not being taken care of and why is it not a recall for my car as well as others that are complaining? this is a very bad safety feature that should be taken care of. The car was being driven by my house and the transmision started slipping as well as it catching and breaking one of the axles leaving the car to be stuck not being able to move period surely the most important thing this resulted in the car getting hit and the fuel tank exploding my aunt want not able to make it out of the car to get out of the way and again this car didn't allow the air bags to deploy the location is unkown.

Few miles after starting to drive error icon was shown on the display showing airbag icon and seatbelt icon. Was able to display the error code: cc-id 97. The front passenger seat was occupied. The car was in motion when the error was triggered, at about 25 mph on city streets.

There is a problem regarding the airbag warning lamp and the mrs system. Nhtsa recall 10025849 covers vehicles produced from 8/31/05 to 4/26/06. My car was produced in 6/2006 (just two months later) and is having the same problem but is not covered by the recall.

Takata recall airbags in houston, texas, on November 10, 2018, I was driving my 2006 BMW 330ci convertible, and when upon entering at 40 miles per hour an entrance ramp from tomball parkway onto beltway 8, I suddenly noticed a metal pole that was resting in the middle of the highway, in an attempt to avoid it, I braked and when the car became stationary, the driver and passenger takata recall airbags did �not� fully inflate which seemed to function with a �safety-related defect. � moreover, I strongly believe recall 15v318000 and recall 14v348000 that were installed at momentum BMW on March 9, 2018 which replaced my takata recall airbags with another set of takata recall airbags contained a �safety-related defect. � as a consequence, I suffered a concussion and eye-related bodily injuries from the crash. In addition, on December 10, 2108, BMW of north America sent an engineer to houston, texas to inspect my vehicle, but the company will �not� provide me the data analysis of its findings, and it claims that the company owns that proprietary data. My vehicle is clear of liens and is paid-off. Moreover, on January 10, 2019, the company stated in a letter that the takata recall airbags fully deployed; however, this is a false statement because the takata recall airbags did �not� fully deploy, and my passenger and I were shocked of this malfunction. As of today, BMW of north America confirmed that the takata recall airbags were replaced with another set of takata recall airbags. Why were these airbags not replaced with an alternative safety equipment supplier? in closing, can federal safety officials inspect my vehicle in houston, texas because BMW of north America is �hiding� the data analysis from me? I am submitting a police report and photos of the crash, so I look forward to your response.
