Electrical System Problems of Cadillac Escalade - part 2

I have 2017 Escalade esv, that has exactly same issue that the "global safety field investigations dcs5461" describes, such as, transmission oil temperature sensor malfunction, rough and loud shifts, hesitated acceleration. There were a numerous event that hesitation (not catching the gear) almost caused accidents. Check engine was on and it is at dealership at the date of 15th. (it did not ended up with an accident. Just scared because I drive this vehicle with my 3 young kids. ) my car may, may not have engine and trans built in the 2016, I was wondering if there are vehicles out there that has same problems, that are also similar year, maybe it could be more potential safety concerns on the road. This dcs5461 investigation also noted as "urgent - distribute immediately" so making sure getting all affected vehicle correctly may save some lives. This is my first concern reporting here. While my wife was driving on the pennsylvania turnpike, her vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. Since there was no shoulder, she had to coast to find a safe place to pull over. All the dashboard lights came on, indicating what appeared to be an electrical issue. She attempted to restart the vehicle several times, but only received a message stating, “battery low, needs charge. ” she contacted onstar, expecting prompt assistance, but the experience was far from what’s advertised. She waited a total of 45 minutes just to speak with someone, only to be transferred to another representative. Despite having paid for onstar services when we purchased the vehicle, they refused to cover the towing charges because she was on a private highway, forcing her to pay out of pocket for a service we had already purchased. During this time, it was extremely cold and windy. My 5-year-old daughter and wife waited about an hour and a half for the tow truck to arrive, and then an additional two hours while the driver secured the vehicle onto the flatbed. Since the car was completely dead, they had no heat the entire time. When they stepped out of the car so the tow truck driver could load it, they discovered they couldn’t get back inside—the doors wouldn’t open due to the lack of power. This entire ordeal was not only frustrating but incredibly unsafe for them. Having the vehicle shut down without warning on a busy highway, especially with our young child in the car, was terrifying for them. After our vehicle was at the dealership for a week, we were informed that the engine needs to be replaced. We were shocked to learn that this is a common issue with gm’s 6. 2 engines. To make matters worse, there is no estimated timeframe for the repair because the engine is on backorder. For reference, the truck only has 24,000 miles on it and has been exclusively serviced by authorized Cadillac dealers. This experience has been both disappointing and deeply concerning.

Unknown. The car decelerated on the freeway from 80 mph by automatically going into n. Once we managed to pull over to the shoulder, the car would not turn on again or shift gears. The dealership thinks it's an engine failure and they have multiple Escalades in the shop for the same issue.

My wife was driving down the road late at night and the engine turned off and all the lights inside the car (dash lights, etc) and outside the car turned off. . . It was super scary. No warning lights came on before this happened. . . There was no warning given by the car that something was wrong. Got the car to the dealership and the dealer diagnosed it with a blown engine. This failure could have caused death or injury if there were other cars/people around.

1) the car suddenly brakes as to avoid a collision when there are no cars in the proximity of the vehicle (think about driving on an open road on a sunny day and the vehicle suddenly brakes without warning). 2) we have received notice of low oil shortly after oil changes which have been performed at the dealership. It has been communicated to us by the dealership that it is common for these vehicles to burn approximately four (4) quarts of oil over the course of 2,500 – 3,000 miles leaving approximately two (2) quarts of oil remaining. Required tow to the dealership. 3) we have received rear axle warning messages and heard beeping noises alerting of such on at least thirty (30) occasions. The dealer has not been able to diagnose what the issue is and says that the computer is not storing any codes. They have not attempted any repair after being taken in for service on three (3) separate occasions. 4) in the past few days, the vehicle has thrown many error codes on the dashboard display including the rear axle service, service transmission unable to shift, service driver assist system. 5) on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 the vehicle again began throwing error codes. The engine failed to start and was towed to the dealer via gm roadside. Required tow to the dealership. 6) a fuel pump part required replacement as fuel was not properly being delivered to the engine. Required tow to the dealership. Safey is at risk. We have three (3) children who regularly ride in the vehicle with us along with the safety of others on the road (especially sudden braking).

This has caused the safety features to malfunction. Additionally, the parking emergency brake engaged suddenly while I was driving. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request, as I have already reported the issue and requested immediate attention from the dealership. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? my safety,, was severely put at risk when the parking emergency brake suddenly engaged while I was driving. This sudden braking caused me to sustain a strained neck and strained back. I was fortunate to avoid a more serious accident, but this malfunction was extremely dangerous. Additionally, the faulty safety features and the repeated and incorrect engagement of the onstar emergency system have caused further distress and distractions while driving. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? •as of now, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. I have scheduled an appointment for inspection on 10/2, and I have made the dealership aware of the issues through my communication. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? •the vehicle or component has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. I have only reported the issue to the dealership so far and requested an immediate inspection and resolution. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? •yes, there were symptoms prior to the emergency brake incident. After the incomplete software update on 9/13/24 the vehicle’s safety features began malfunctioning.

On July 28th 2024 my wife backed the vehicle out of the garage and the vehicle locked out the steering wheel. The cluster and gauges went completely out. The vehicle did not start or turn on after that point. It was no longer drivable as we could no longer start the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed to penske Cadillac of torrance where it took them a week to diagnose the vehicle. The vehicle fuse box went out which locked out the steering wheel if my wife would of been driving the vehicle she would of been involved in a major accident. The problem was confirmed by the dealer a new fuse box was installed. I have the fuse box here as I requested it to follow up with the NHTSA. There was no warning that the vehicle had any malfuncitons. All electircal componenets and steering went out suddenly and abruplty.

My car shut down completely as I was driving it home last month [xxx] the cluster panel was showing charging system failure, stabilization and traction control coming on and off when not in use, the battery I bought was purchased in 2022 was completely drained and not rechargeable and even lights were staying on inside vehicle without out the battery connected, the driver door handle fell off not broken came loose and the tires had a locked lug nuts that never came with the vehicle when I purchased it, I had to buy a $103 unlocking key to remove the tire in order to get the brakes fixed and the spare tire was rusted and there wasn't a key to release it so I had it cut off because I was stranded on the road with no help, the shift gear came undone as I had to put a paper clip in it as I didn't have a warranty to cover this expense, the starter and battery and alternator, serpinewas paid out of pocket as I was sold a 2007 Cadillac Escalade with 238,0000 miles with prior accident and the carfax shows 50 different problems errors and the emergency break will shift out or on when not activated, the car has been without any power but yet the interior door lights and the radio would come on without any power, the car was in a prior accident before I became the owner, the gas costs me 140 weekly, I only used regular gas I only get 9miles to the gallon driving to nearest city but it costs me 40dollars total for round trip when I only drive 8 miles to culver indiana from my home, the car doesn't have air as it was removed before I purchased it, it's hot without air as heat comes from the engine and hits my legs my feet and my face with the heat turned off, the engine light is currently on the car was sold to me as is but its not worth $$ 11, 800. 00 with a 498. 00 car note, and I have been in between jobs because of the car constantly breaking down and causing me to lose my job and I scheduled a air bag replacement recall with the dealer in rochester, shepreds Chevrolet information redacted pursuant to the freedom of inform.

The vehicle shut off in traffic going 60 mph. No electric, just off like it was shut off but wasn’t. (different occasion unknown related 5k miles later) the motor has to be replaced because the piston. Which in return caused the rest of the motor to fail.

I started my Escalade and 5 minutes later I lost power which as the entire vehicle had no power. So I left it alone for an hour or so in my garage and I started up again and this time didn’t loose power. Everything appeared normal and working again. Than the next day I started it up and I had this popup message sd card has been removed press ok to exit navigation (when no sd card was removed). I also noticed that my backup camera, grid lines, or augmented reality has also intermittently not working on days. It sometimes works as normal and sometimes it does not. The message shows service augmented reality system. The following next day, while I’m cruising on the highway the Escalade shifted into neutral when I was going 75 mph and had no mechanical power. So I pulled over stoped the vehicle and shut it off. Restarted after 15 minutes and it operated normally. I’m worried about safety since it shifted to neutral at highway speed and lost mechanical power, along with other power issues which is extremely dangerous. This vehicle either is a lemon or there is a unknown manufacturing defect and in both cases needs to be replaced due to egregious safety concern.

While driving my 2016 Cadillac Escalade with a6. 2l v8 engine on [xxx] near bristow, oklahoma at approximately 75 mph, the vehicle suddenly and completely lost power. Without any prior warning or unusual noises, the engine shut down, and I lost power to the dashboard and power steering. This caused the vehicle to decelerate rapidly, making it extremely difficult to control. I managed to steer the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway, narrowly avoiding a collision due to the loss of control. The vehicle could not be restarted. The affected components seem to include the engine, electrical system, and steering. These failures put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk due to the sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle control on a busy highway. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Cadillac dealership for inspection and repair. As of now, the dealership has been unable to determine the cause of the engine failure despite conducting multiple tests and inspections. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure. The dealership has confirmed the issue but has not identified the root cause. I had my 2021 Cadillac Escalade esv vehicle service twice at the dealership of purchase regarding the vehicle gear shifting on it’s on and dragging. The service advisor said they couldn’t find a problem with the vehicle. He told bring it back if it does it again. 2/11/24 the problem occurred twice in one day. I thought maybe I had bumped it out of gear inadvertently. I started looking down every time I touched the gear shift to assure it was the correct setting. I booked appointment service via my phone 2/11/24 for 2/13/24 service. I was at the car wash drive thru 2/12/24 my vehicle was in neutral coming off the conveyor belt. As I attempted to pressed the shift toggle to change gear my vehicle made a weird noise . I never got the chance to shift to drive. Grinding pulling noise like it was stuck. My vehicle shot forward like something catapulted. My vehicle hit another vehicle before hitting a wall. My air front air bag never deployed. The collision avoidance did not engage or signal. I don’t understand how a vehicle can shift it self in and out of gear on its own. If I’m doing 25 mile the vehicle shouldn’t make rpm act like I’m doing 100. Also if I’m doing 70 mile the vehicle should not shift down while pressing the gas pedal. Had they listened to me and took what I was saying seriously this would have never happened. There was no injury sustained. No police report was filed. The vehicle was able to restart after 20-45 minutes. The contact resumed driving. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

My cameras are not working properly and have stopped working completely, I have seen online that theses car have problems like this and have recalls and my car has the same problem now but it’s says it’s not under a recall.

My son was driving home from work down highway 288 in houston and the car just died and did not start. The door locks were going up and down like it was trying to reset and lock the car. I had it fixed and they said it was the fuel pump was out. We had the fuel pump fixed and a new battery put in. Would this cause it to loose power immediately and the door locks to go crazy?.

The tire pressure guage reads the opposite tire. Causes allot of confusion and is a safety concern for anyone who owns the car.

The power step / running boards do not operate as intended, especially on the driver's side. They are not deploying or retracting as they should, possibly leading to personal injury, ie. Spain ankles, injury to the knees, legs and or backs of individuals, who assume the power step has deployed before entering or exiting the vehicle. I am seeking a recall be established concerning this matter, and a class action suit against general motors be developed immediately. I have had my vehicle inspected, at a dealership, as many owners have, with nothing being found. Only to leave in disgust, and have to live with this daily issue. Something needs to be done about this problem, these are some very expensive vehicles, and owners like myself should not have to deal with this persist issue.

My family and I were driving and the car started breaking and turning the wheel then died . We took it to the dealership 3x and on the third time they found a code for the safety module on each incident the car was difficult to control and it put my families life at risk. The rear park gridlines are not getting activated. Dealer mentioned that there is a bug in an infotainment system but its been open from last 6-9 months and not resolved. This really affecting my parking ability. This should be a safety concern and should be resolved ASAP.

4-12-2023 my 8-year-old daughter and I were driving a 2022 Cadillac Escalade esv and were hit by an out-of-control Ford f150 at a speed of 60 miles. The airbag on the car was almost completely driven, and the insurance company told us the total loss. Fortunately, we were all only affected by it. Minor injuries but none of the car's doors were damaged at the time of the accident. My daughter couldn't open and unlock her doors by herself. I couldn't let my daughter climb into the cab and get out of the car with me from the cab. Then the police came and asked me. Can you open the door to make sure there is no one else inside? that's when I found out that the car can't be opened from the outside even if the door is unlocked when the power is off. I think it's because the Escalade is not a mechanical door handle. They had to be broken. The car window was opened from the inside, and I was thinking that if I passed out in the collision that day and the car caught fire again, it would not be a simple matter even if someone passed by and wanted to save me. Their engineers went to verify the experience and ideas I encountered, which may save many lives. Of course, the Escalade is my dream car, and I will buy it again it save me and my daughter.

Please explain your complaint in detail: every Cadillac dealership in the area is refusing to service my vehicle for a serious safety recall •gm #: n222384930? trailer brake control switch. When I call the dealerships to set up an appointment, they tell me there is a note on my account to not service your vehicle. The vehicle is brand new and was purchased from brotherton Cadillac. All of the Cadillac dealerships are working together to block any service of my vehicle.

My 2016 Escalade premium engine is starting to shut off more frequent when coming to a stop. It also has more frequent issues where it will not start with remote or if inside the vehicle. No warning or failure lights came on. Dash looks normal but no rpm's if it shuts off at a stop. I’ve replaced the battery thinking it was an older battery but still continues to happen. I'm very nervous thinking it will shut off while driving with my family. Please help!! I have not taken my vehicle to a repair shop hoping this can be fixed by the manufacture.

I was in accident on the interstate. None of the safety features activated. The truck was sliding instead of stopping. The emergency stop and braking never activated. The distance sensor failed. The airbag didn’t deploy and onstar never called about a crash alert.

While driving down the road under any condition the brakes start to apply themselves ultimately leading the vehicle to not being able to pull itself. The more throttle you give it the more the brakes apply. I believe this is the same as the 2002-2004 chevy hydro boost recall. Also around the same time the resistor for the blower motor caught fire while driving down the road.

This is the component that failed parts passenger side instrument panel wiring harness junction block gm part # 84114433 component combustion yes, the burning of the component has been confirmed not checked - just replace the component only no warning lights appeared.

After driving about 3 hours, the tpms system displays an error saying the module has failed. This occurs with oem and aftermarket tpms sensors. The error clears itself after the vehicle is parked for > 1 hour. The dealer has found no fault in the sensors but would not test the system otherwise. Losing tpms readings during long drives is unsafe and could lead to an accident or damage to the vehicle if tire damage occurs while the system is malfunctioning.

When reversing this huge SUV, there is no visibility. Currently, I have to keep pressing my brakes to get the red light to see little however it is not enough. I have taken it to the 2 different Cadillac Escalade dealership and they keep giving it back to me that it is working properly. This has been a problem since I bought this car, unfortunately when we went to test drive it was in a very bright parking lot. During the day it is fine, however if I reverse at night and god forbid hit someone/something - gm will be liable as this should not be on the road and they refuse the fix this big safety concern. Please note this is a 7 passenger SUV- it is too big to lack reverse visibility.
