Side/window Air Bag Problems of Cadillac Escalade

The contact owned a 2009 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the passenger side air bag deployed without impact which resulted in the contact losing control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole. No further details were available in regaurds to the crash. The contacts wife who was seated in the front passenger side sustained whiplash and did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to (whitmore's wrecker services inc 600 w greenwood Ave, waukegan, IL 60087 (847) 623-7080). Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 21v052000 (air bags) however the VIN was not included. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Takata recall: my 2008 Cadillac Escalade was running in park in my driveway. My son got out of the car firmly closed the door and both side air bags deployed. We cannot drive the car now and it needs to be fixed.

I was driving home. Out of no where my drivers side - side airbag deployed spontaniously. I began losing control of the vehicle because the noise was so loud, and starteling that I thought someone struck my drivers side. I am left side - hearing impaired, my whole left side went numb and began to ring piercingly. I gained control back of the vehicle and tried to exit the truck. I was engulfed in chemicals and couldn't see. I tried to open the door and couldn't as the airbag blocked my exit, and / or rolling down the window. When the airbag began to deflate I was able to exit the vehicle. I was fortunate my son and husband were behind me as we drove home. They had no idea what was happening as I jumped out of my truck with a white cloud of fumes behind me. I now feel as though my ear has been stabbed and my nose/throat are burning.

Side air bags deployed in contacts car. On star had not been working. Contact told by dealer that they were not going to repair anything on the car until the investigation was completed. Took car in and spoke with advisor and was told they would work on it and let him know when the car would be ready. Later received a call stating that they were not going to fix the car because the on board computer said that there was side impact. Contact told the advisor that the car had no damage on the car or underneath the car. Advisor said that there was a scratch and a dent on the tire and the rims. A contact said that a friend had drove through a car wash and messed scratched and dented the 24 in non-original tires on his car. The contact has not been able to drive the car for over a month now because dealer will not fix the car. Insurance will not pay for the repair because there was no accident and they said that it is a warranty issue. Contact says that he was not in an accident obviously because the drivers air bag did not deploy in the front. Please investigate, thank you henry adams.
