Since I bought the car the brake pedal is really hard to push so that I can brake the car. I took it to the dealer and they told me if the car is braking I should not be worried but I know that’s not the way the brakes should work.

Master brake cylinder/abs hydraulic unit failed. I noticed that while driving my vehicle at 35mph coming to a stop I had to press or pump my brakes to come to a complete stop. One one instance I had to brake abruptly and the brakes failed (pressed to the floor) so I swerved onto the shoulder to not cause a rear end collision. There was no warning or anything, I took the car to the dealer and was told that it would cost me $1700 to repair and that the problem is wear and tear. After doing my research I'm now discovering that it is a known problem. Please do your research because this is a scary situation.

My brake pedal has gone to the floor at random times while driving. When it happens, approx. The last 10% of pedal travel has limited braking power. After this occurs, the pedal will return back to normal, after a day or so. This situation occurs after the abs system is activated during a hard stop, sliding on ice or snow, or when the abs is triggered. I have seen reports on internet that indicate that this issue can be caused by the abs control module (part no. 20842710) having internal valve/seal leak failure. The theory is, once the abs is activated and diverts fluid to the wheels that have traction (still spinning), the abs valves. Chambers stick open. Problem is the part - module is currently unavailable throughout north America.

While sitting at a friend's house on a hill my brakes went completely out once I hit them they went to the floor and we eended up hitting a tree stump that saved us from going off a steep cliff to possibly hurting each and everyone of us in the car.

On multiple occasions, when I have had to panic brake, either due to snowy weather conditions or when I had to brake hard while on the highway, the brake pedal loses pressure and I am barely able to stop for some time, thereafter. Later, the pressure returns to normal. I have taken the vehicle to the repair shop on multiple occasions, and the techs have been unable to reproduce the problem. This is a serious problem, and could lead to serious injury or death. Please issue a recall immediately and force the manufacturer to fix this. Thank you.

So while driving the stabilizer light came on and it swerved when I went to hit my brakes to stop the car because I was heading across a bridge the brake somehow lost power and I pushed and it didn’t do anything by the time I got the pressure to come back I guess after pushing a few times it was too late and I rear ended another vehicle and completed pushed in the entire front on my truck. This is the second time the light came on but the first time it swerved and then the brakes going out shouldn’t have happened because I got the brakes replaced earlier this year.

Driving 40mph and the brakes started having issues. The pedal had to be pressed all the way to the floor and pumped to get the car to stop. From my research I see that this is a very common issue with this vehicle. This is a major safety issue that's going to eventually lead to a fatality if it hasn't already. If this is not a safety issue and a manufacturers defect then I really don't know what is.

On multiple occasions I have experienced an unexpected temporary loss of braking. Peddle went to the floor requiring pumping of brakes to come to a stop. It lasts days and unexpectedly returns to normal. No warning signal to check brakes etc. For days after I have to pump the brakes and adjust my braking response time in order to avoid hitting another car. Each time this happened I have had it checked and nothing found. I’m from florida and summer in ri. I had the vehicle checked in ri last year? twice in FL. I have noticed ot happens during inclement weather or hitting an unexpected hole in the road. The last time this happened was several days ago on the MA turnpike during a rain storm. Very scarey and very dangerous. The brakes went back to normal but only after a week. I went on the car websites and realized it was happening to others too. With Cadillac! I spend a lot of time on the highway and a quick braking response is vital.

A brake module went out in the car August 2021. Brake, abs, stability track, power steering warning lights all on. Cruise control doesn’t work. Lane assistant and back up camera system not fully operational. This is a warranty repair. It’s been 4 months and Cadillac can’t get the part to fix it. A brake module seams important.

It’s doing everything they said it would when I need to stop driving it due to recall.

This has happened 5 times within 1year when I put on the breaks it goes to the floor. Have SUV inspected and they bleed the brakes. Last time brakes go to the floor after I shut down SUV breaks reset them self and are tight again.

My front passenger side brake keeps locking and overheating. I have replaced the calibers 2 times, my brake pads 2 times and the brake hose all in a period of 3 months. My back rear brake light also gets stuck and stays on after I put my car in park and turn off my car. In order for me to release it, I have to press down firmly on the brake pedal and or restart the car, drive around put it back in park and then press down firmly on the brake pedal for it to turn off. The back rear light staying on and the front passenger brakes overheating happen intermittently multiple times throughout the day or week with no particular pattern. When my front passenger brake overheats, it begins to smoke and shake/vibrate violently which causes me to have to pull the car over and wait about 15min for it to cool down before getting back on the road. On 9/9 I went to radley Cadillac on 3421 jeff davis hwy fredericksburg va 22401 for a diagnostic & they stated that my brake pedal arm, ebc and bpmv need to be replaced b/c it keeps engaging & locking my front passenger brake. I also went to another repair shop for a 2nd opinion on 9/10 & paid another diag fee they stated the same thing, 4637 mine rd, fredericksburg, va 22408 that the brake pedal arm will need to be replaced first as to they believe this is the underlying issue and the code c0161 was present. I was traveling on major roadway 95 south on the eastern part of MD . I had just exited off the highway as I was exiting and braking my brakes went totally out. This could have been a deadly accident for me and others . I had my car towed to the a Cadillac dealership for repairs . The dealership replaced the brake modulator. I later discovered that gm has know about this problem with this particular modle and years 2011 and beyond and has had many complaints about failing brake modulator. There was no warnings of any kind . I did file a complaint with gm but I have not gotting no response . I.

I was driving about 65mph on highway when my Cadillac drop down 40 speed due brake pedal problem almost causing accident. Lucky I was able pull on side of road.

The brakes get soft and go almost to the floor at times. This usually happens after having to brake hard for a sudden stop. It takes constant pumping of the brakes for them to work properly again. I just had my brakes checked and the pads and rotors are good, so the problem could not be diagnosed. There have been no warnings or alerts for this problem and no recall letters. After going over a pothole the brakes seemed to give out. The car was going at a speed of 20 miles per hour and was approaching a stop sign. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the car did not come to a complete stop. I have seen this issue reported by other Cadillac Srx owners but there is nothing on the Cadillac website regarding it.

While I'm driving my driver seat moves forward and my brake and gas pedal do as well. It happens no matter if I'm on a highway or street and when I'm driving straight not sure if it happens while turning. Doesn't matter what speed I'm going either. Haven't crashed. Nothing indicating something wrong on dash.

When ever the anti lock brakes or traction control are activated the brake pedal goes to the floor with no or very little braking. This happens when stopping in the rain or snow and when the front wheels loose traction. After a few minutes of pumping the brakes the pedal returns to normal and the brakes work perfectly. No codes are displayed. I took it into my mechanic and he could find nothing wrong. I researched the problem on the internet and found 30 other complaints of the same problem. I went to john bear Cadillac in hamilton ont. And they looked up my car and couldn't recommend a fix for it as the parts wen't produced any more. This is a 2011 year car and the Srx used the same componets until 2016. This is really dangerous as I cannot depend on the anti-lock brakes in an emergency. The headlights are so dim it’s a very bad safety issue. I’ve replaced them 3 times , still same problem. Everybody I have talked to has the same problem with theirs. Something has got to be done. I’m going to call the head of Cadillac if it doesn’t get resolved. My guesses keep blowing and it’s also wearing the tires out to quick.

Please investigate! approx. 3 days ago I was coming to a stop sign in a residential area & applied brakes. Speed limit is 25, but I was going slower, just to the corner past my home. Not only did brakes not work- the car began to accelerate on its own to about 35-40 mph- no gas applied. Tried pumping brakes, shifting the car into neutral, reverse, park- all while at an unexpected accelerated speed. I plowed into a residential yard which had a small hill thinking maybe I could stop the car that way. That didn't work. I swerved back into the street; car still revving and moving forward. At that point I thought I was going to crash into a house, pole or another vehicle. I ended up halfway on the street and halfway on a curb after continuously trying the brakes and shifting from drive to park (vehicle still accelerating as if it was possessed!!) and just before hitting a light pole, with driver side door open thinking I'd rather jump out of a moving vehicle than die from ramming into a pole, house or car- I thought to turn physically turn off the ignition while the vehicle was in drive. This is the only was the car would stop moving. This was a very disturbing and dangerous experience. I have no doubt this is not a normal issue and should be recalled and fixed by the manufacturer- whatever it is. My mechanic still has not determined what the issue is. We know it isn't as simple as just fixing the brakes. I and/or other people could have been killed in the process and even worse, my two small children could have been in the car which thankfully they were not. This was such a traumatic experience that I no longer feel safe driving the car for fear it could happen again with my children inside. If I have the car repaired, I don't even know that I feel comfortable selling it to anyone else- it's that dangerous! please investigate. This problem is deadly. 2004 Cadillac Srx 4dr.

Brakes give out when pressed a hard while in motion to come to a stop. While stopped brake pedal will go all the way to the floor and brakes do not engage. Have to pump brake pedal continuously while stopped to regain pressure or while in motion brakes do not engage. Occurs on street, highway. Will occur while braking after hitting a pothole as well.

While driving and without warning, I have minimum braking power. I must smash the petal to floor in order to stop at a light or stop sign. Usually, I'm not going more than 35 mph. This happens at least 2-3 times per month. I fear I will have an accident. Two different repair shops could not id the problem. The other issue is when driving, the dash lights and the head lights will suddenly dim, where I am barely able to read anything or see. These problems are truly a hazard and something needs to be done.
