The alternators have to keep being replaced. Since I've bought the truck, it has had 5 alternators put on. Ac delco brand. The truck has 81,000 miles on it so far. When the alternators go bad there are no warning lights that come on and once it dies the truck cuts off.

The transmission in my vehicle has a defective valve body and it caused my transmission to break, I went to the dealer when I first had the problem of a hard shift from first to second gear when the vehicle was being driven long distances. The dealer said the vehicle is shifting fine and to bring it back when it does it again. This was back on 08/19/02 and now I have a code 1870 on the computer and the transmission is shot. I found out the transmission is a 4l60e and it is very unreliable. Also I already had to change my water pump and alternator and my gas gauge does not work and there is a problem with my windshield wipers also.
In 15 mos. This car has left me more than all others together !!! have lost thousands of dollars in income . Most unreliable unsafe car I've ever owned . I see hundreds of people in my feild of work and I tell them all not to get a Blazer !! it can't stay on the road and the CO. Is unwilling to help . Very unhappy with the product and handling of complaint. Read e-mail sent to get the jest of problems this car has had . If my daughter or I die as a result of this faulty car you can be assured you will be sued !!! I've tryed to let someone know since 1-2 mos. After purchase that it was a problem . To no avail chevy does'nt care !!!!!.
When filling the fuel tank, there is a strong odor in the engine compartment, and the vehicle may have a no start condition. Dealer replaced fuel canister and alternator. But problem is still occurring.
This Blazer has offered nothing but problems. We have replaced the alternator, brake pads three times, the battery three times, the air conditioner went out in July, 1999, and even after having it repaired twice, it still doesn't work. We took it to the dealership for repair because of a "gurgling" noise, but they couldn't find what was causing it, (it was still under warranty at that time). Now gas fumes flood into the vehicle at various times, after filling up, and even while driving. They claim that a $1,000. 00 valve needs to be replaced, but I sure wish they had known that while the warranty was still good! the wipers work sometimes, the brakes allow me to slide to a stop any time there is moisture, the left radio speakers only work sometimes, dome light cover falls off, hood won't open without force, pwr. Windows only work when they want to, locks stopped working before warranty expired, and they "fixed" them, but they still didn't work. Is there any way they will take this lousy excuse for a vehicle back? I can't afford to drive my children around in something that offers the possibility of explosion due to gas leakage, not to mention that the smell and fumes make us all nautious. I wonder how many more problems we will have with it, the transmission now seems to be slipping. Please help!!.
