2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/12/2009

2002 Blazer LS 4dr 4wd. Around 19,000 SUV was not stopping fully at slow speeds plus scraping noise from front right wheel that would come and go. I took it to a gm dealer, but they could not duplicate the condition nor sound on a test drive so they said to come back when it happen again. Next day same thing but it stopped the sound before I could go back to the dealer. Around 20,000 miles it was continues sound of scraping from front wheels. I took it back to gm dealership they said it was the brakes and rotors on the rear of SUV. They turned the rotors and put new pads on rear. Cost over $200. Then about 23,000 miles the SUV would not stop completely again at slow speeds and the scraping sound from the front wheels. Took it to the dealer again they said it was the anti lock brakes. They repaired them. Around 26,000 took SUV to dealer for oil leak they said they would fix the leak under my bumper to bumper zero deductible warranty. Also they said my front brakes and rotors were down to 1% left with deep pitting and rust that was not covered by gm $530 cost. . Due to I don't drive my SUV 12,000 a year. I had this brake rotor problem from 19,000 miles . I only have 26,000 miles on my 2002 Blazer. With a 5yr -54,000 mile warranty that started after my lease end. Now I'm told I need rear rotors and they should have never been turned. Gm has defective brake anti-lock system plus rotors and should recall them !!.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/19/2004

I purchased a 1999 chevy 2 door 4x4 Blazer on 1/8/02. I discovered in March of 2002 that the brakes were "fried" everything was burned. The dealership from which I purchased the vehicle replaced the brake pads and rotors, both front and rear. In March of 2003 I had my brakes checked by a Chevrolet dealership. The results were my front and rear brakes were warped and needed replaced. I got the brakes fixed. On 7/19/04. I went to have my vehicle serviced and I had my brakes inspected once again. The service technician stated that my brakes were "shot!!" my pads are at 20% and my rotors need replaces. I feel this is very excessive regarding the replacement of brakes within 2 1/2 years of owning this vehicle. I feel its a serious safety issue and needs to be looked into. I am very nervous for my safety when driving this vehicle, because it seems the brakes are going out in a short amount of time.
