Exterior Lighting Problems of Chevrolet Blazer

Blinker arm often bounces back to the opposite direction when the blinker automatically cancels once you have made your turn. As an example if I have left blinker on after I complete my turn it often bounces back over to the right side turning the right blinker for a few flashes.

My complaint is with the standard hid headlights in the 2019 Blazer and the very poor mounting system. The headlights are mounted too low to be effective in lighting the roadway, particularly where no shoulder stripping is on the roadway. Too, at unlighted intersections the lighting so poor that safe left or right turns cannot be accomplished. The hid lights themselves are a poor design in that they do not offer any useable peripheral lighting to add vision to the road shoulders. Due to the low mounting, the hid do not adequately shine light onto the road surface. Rather the available light shines across the surface and not down on it had the lights been mounted at the top of the fenders as most lights are mounted and designed. This has been an ongoing issue with the vehicle since purchasing the car new in November of 2018.

The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at night, the driver’s side headlight failed to illuminate properly, and contact was unable to see more than 30-feet ahead of the vehicle. The failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the headlamp needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, failure persisted, and the contact stated she was unable to see the markings on the roadway while driving. Tl-the complaint owns a 2006 Chevrolet trail Blazer. The contact stated that their head lights went bad. The head lights flicker when they are turned on and are a hazard at night. Now warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to hendricks Chevrolet 1620 montgomery hwy, hoover, al 35216 (205) 545-8072 where the vehicle was diagnosed and a new head light needed to be inistalled. The dealer claimed to repair the vehicle however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and no assistance was provided. The mileage was 88,445. Jw.

My customer complained of a transmission failure involving, but not limited to a dtc p0785. I asked my customer if the involved vehicle (2000 Chevrolet Blazer) had any dealer or after market accessories installed, customer adamantly replied: no, "bone stock gm. " my customer was not aware that the involved vehicle had a theft deterrent system, manufactured by "karr" and distributed by audiovox with installers nationwide. I have been actively involved with gm dealerships for over forty years and possess a wealth of experience in parts and service experience. I removed the suspect security system and repaired the damaged wiring which resulted in the improper installation. In the past week I have been confronted with four customer complaints which resulted from security systems, aftermarket radios and including aftermarket headlamps. These aftermarket components are the direct cause of system failures involving engine management systems, lights, and numerous electrical failures. I sincerely request immediate and thorough investigation which I remain confident will result in massive recalls of these inferior products.

I drove to autozone on west colonial dr and had my vehicle computer diagnosed which produced a code that stated (stop lamp & rear hazardous lamp failure) there is a recall on certain 2002 chey Blazers vehicles, however my 2002 chevy Blazer VIN # 1gndt13w02k118128 doesn't have this recalll. Chevy should implement a recall for all 2002 chevy Blazers. Now the dealer wants over $500 to fix this issue.

My blinkers started blinking real fast and I couldn't figure out why. I asked my brother and he told me I had a light out somewhere, so he helped me locate it. It was my blinker on the driver side back. I replaced it and a few months later it happened again. I replaced it again. All this happened in 2013. In the summer of 2014 it happened again with the same light. I replaced it again. I was watching good morning America this morning and seen where they were investigating safe cars at used car dealers. It gave a web site to look and see if your vehicle has any recalls. I looked and it showed mine had 4. I called the number it gave and the lady told me mine had none with the VIN # I gave her. Why then am I having problems with this one light?.

Brake/abs lights come on the dash, no abs brakes at all, so now what ???.

I have 2 Blazers 1999 and both have the same problem a failing multi function switch that makes an annoying constant clicking sound that come from behind the glove box. I had one repaired last year that cost me over 600$ and now my other Blazer is having the me the same problem . The part they have change is the arm for the flasher right /left in witch includes the cruise control high beam light.

Gas gauge has not worked for at least 5 years every time I called the dealer they said no problem I think it is the fuel filter in the fuel tank and to fix that it will cost me about 1000. 00 to fix. My son and a friend of mine had the same problem just didn't seem wright car only 5 yrs old and that goes wrong for five yrs I just fill my tank and go about 250 miles then fill up again. Please try to help me with this problem. Lights go out when it rains this is another problem.

Rear lights do not brighten when braking, took it to dealer. Dealer says there was a recall and it was done already to my 2001 Blazer, but I never had taken it in for that problem was going to charged 500 dollars just to redo it. I had bought the Blazer new from a dealer.

'99 Blazer zr2 my daughters first car, she paying for herself. Has the most annoying blinker noise under passenger side dash. In research have found that 100s of other people are having the same very expensive fix. It consists of a multifunction switch with the cost of upto $700. I feel that Chevrolet (GMC) should be responsible for some of this repair--it obviously is a problem with a design or a defected part. If you check the internet it is just loaded with people dealing with this. In addition to this that same year Blazer seems to have some transmission problems and bearings at the 70,000 mil range. . . . . Something isn't right here. We just did the bearings for the $400 price tag. Please help this young girl, she is trying to the right thing, lets help her do it.

Car accident was may 2008 was reported to usaa insurance and nc commissioner. I am former us army spouse and contractor 15 years. I am back at home of record. I have lost over $5000 to this incident and I deal with added medical disabilities from this dealing with chronic back, tbi ptsd and brain injury to left side. Confirmed with ent cat scan and army womack hospital. Did not have health care at the time. I have had ignition switch. The light bulb dealing with nc testing issues costing me with testing. Ohio thanks goodness not. But brights dont come on. Radio clock stays on drained battery inpast. And brakes I tried to get a service but didn't know where in dayton , ohio.

I came across a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer LS recall #01v364000 issued on or about March 2002. I had forgotten about the recall when I had my car repaired at jim trenary Chevrolet in o fallon, mo in March 2008. I later found the recall. The repair work that I paid for matched exactly what the recall was about so I asked for a refund for that work. They refused since my VIN wasn't on gm's list of open recalls. What went wrong with my vehicle was what was exactly described on the recall. Why wasn't my VIN included? part # 26100837 was a part mentioned in the recall and it is listed on my paid invoice.

Multi function switch experienced the same defect as stated in recall 01v364000; however, this vehicle wa snot included due to VIN.

Consumer advised that the vehicle's head, tail and interior lights will brighten and dim without warning while driving. Finally on 11-4-02 all vehicle lights failed completely. Ts.

Interior and exterior lights flicker on and off during normal operation at night. Dealership has examined vehicle, and has been unable to identify the problem. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

Vehicle lighting system, including dash, interior lights, head lights, etc, will blink erradically. The manufacturer is aware of the problem, and has indicated that it could be the abs system malfunctioning, or something else, they are unsure. I have contacted gm on several occasions for updates. They provide nothing.
