8 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/04/2010

We own a 2001 Blazer and recently the brake lights are on all the time. Also, the hazard lights and turn signals don't work. If you hold the hazard switch part way down and hold it very steady you can get the brake lights and signals to work. I've tried contacting my local dealer, but they tell me this is not covered by any recalls. I will have to replace the entire multi function turn switch. From what I see online, it looks like the 2000 Blazer has already had a recall for a hazard switch problem. I would bet the 2001 model is identical.

9 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 05/17/2010

2002 Chevrolet Blazer defective hazard switch. Because of faulty switch, I have no brake lights and no hazard lights. This defect is discussed on the internet. I have called Chevrolet only to be told they won't cover it. This switch is mentioned in an NHTSA recall. This is a dangerous situation. The hazard switch did not wear out. How often does a person use this switch? it is a bad design.

10 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 01/14/2010

The multi-function switch in my 1999 chevy Blazer LS is malfunctioning. During driving, the blinker sound is constantly clicking whether or not I am making a turn or enabling my safety hazard lights. When I apply the brakes on the car, the clicking sound temporarily stops. When I drive again, the clicking sound starts again. This malfunction gives the driver the false indication that their turn signals is on, when it is actually not on, and can cause an accident.

16 Hazard Flashing Warning Light Unit problem of the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/20/2005

Recently had turn signal problems, hazard light problems and brake light problems. Could not get front, right turn signal to turn off, could not get hazard lights to turn off, after maneuvering a bobby pin into the hazard light switch I temporarily fixed these two problems. I recently discovered that I do not have all 3 of my brake lights. I do not have the two side brake lights just the top one. I think that because all of these are problems are electrical they are tied into one another. No consequences yet, but am worried about the brake lights and them causing an accident.
