2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 07/30/2007

After having driven the vehicle for about 2 hours on interstate roads (constantly monitoring the coolant gauge - standard for any trip I take). I stopped to go to the rest room and when I returned and started the vehicle it made a horrible loud metal banging noise. I moved the vehicle to that if it needed to be towed it would be ready. I checked the coolant gauge and it was at the very end of the hot zone, checked the coolant and found almost no coolant in the reservoir. I had to put water in to get it home (another 3 hours on the road). At no time during that trip did the coolant gauge indicate that the vehicle was overheating. I have changed the oil per the recommendation in the owners manual and have done most of the other recommendations and have had no other major issues with the vehicle. On July 12th I had the manifold intake gasket replaced, oil changed and tires rotated in preparation for the trip.

The contact complained about a multiple problems with vehicle. The vehicle overheated. She took the vehicle to an independent repair shop, and the mechanic replaced the water pump. Afterwards, the thermostat continued to elevate, and she returned the vehicle to the repair shop. The mechanic replaced the thermostat and added coolant. The vehicle continued to run hot. The contact took vehicle to a different repair shop, and mechanic determined a leak in the intake manifold gasket. The dealer attempted to repair it by flushing the intake and adding more coolant. Although multiple attempts have been made to remedy this problem it continued to persist.

10 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 04/08/2003

I purchased a used 2001 Chevrolet Blazer last March. I had the vehicle for 1 month and the service engine soon light came on. I took it to the garage and they said I needed an air intake box. I was able to get a used one. After one year I am back to the same situation. This air intake box that was another vehicle had the same problem. When removed the box contains alot of condensation. The service garage does not know why this happens. The condensation I am sure is whats causing the box to fail. I would like this investigated to see if this is a recall.

12 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem of the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

Failure Date: 03/13/2002

I purchased my vehicle in 4/01 and seven months later I began experiencing a host of problems with my vehicle, starting with multifunction switch worn, then hood hinges worn, exhaust (muffler broken) right speaker inoperable, left front seat adjuster broken, grill assembly loose, brake pedal broken and finally transmission failure (needs replacing). I have done a bit of inquiring to other chevy Blazer owners and found out that they have or had experience some if not all of the same problems that I am experiencing now. I am hereby respectfully requesting your assistance in rectifying this complaint. I don't think that after 11mths of purchasing my vehicle I should be needing my transmission replace. From passed experienced with replacing a transmission on my wife new vehicle (Mazda mx3) back in 1992 it has never been the same. We had been having the same problems and more with it. We were able to actually get another vehicle and the same problem keep occuring . After that long and tiring experience with my wife's car I now that this won't be no different. I have purchased a lemon and I need to know what recourse I can take to insure that I would not be stuck with a vehicle that would be costing me more to have it constantly fixed and replace. I thank you for your help and assistance in this long and tiring ordeal. I anxiously await hearing from you. Respectfully yours.
