Paint is peeling between at the outer edges at the license plate housing, where it comes in contact with the lift gate. Gray primer is already exposed. I have inspected 2002 trail Blazers and envoys throughout the state and surrounidng states and all reveal the same problem. Owners need to be aware of this situation due to premature rust on the lift gate. It is sad that a brand new vehicle has a paint problem, before it is even driven from the lot and gm wants to paint the lower exterior of the lift gate and I feel the complete left gate should be stripped and refinished.

Tailgate will not lock properly and will open while traveling. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that warranty expired and any repairs would be at consumer's cost. Consumer states the part in question was not fastened to the glass, it was held in place by a thin rubber gasket that goes around the glass that broke.

Hatch raises to vertical, or near vertical position. Opened garage while vehicle was in garage with hatch open and garage door busted hatch. Exact same thing happened on a friend's suburban. Hatch should only open to horizontal or angled position - not vertical. Dealer charged $1300 to replace hatch!!!!!.

In November, I noticed an increase in wind/air noise coming from the rear tailgate. Upon investigation, I discovered that the rear windshield is being pulled away from the vehicle; the hinge mechanism, that holds the glass to the vehicle, has failed and there is about = inch gap between the glass and the weather seal. This problem has become worse with continued driving and a dealer has determined that the problem was do to " no fault of my own". Chevrolet has refused to correct the problem which may cause exhaust fumes to enter and/or the rear windshield to be ripped from the vehicle.
