1 Service Engine Light On problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 06/26/2019

I have a 2015 Camaro with about 31,000 miles on it. I have owned it since it was new and all maintenance has been performed. My son is the primary driver. Last week the car's engine shut off for no apparent reason while my son was driving in rush hour highway traffic around 5:00 pm. Last night Tuesday June 25, 2019 the same thing happened. In both cases it was a pretty scary event and my son had to put the car in neutral and drift to the side of the road. Once stopped the car started right up with no apparent issues. The key was still in the on position so he had to turn off the car and then back on and to start. . We have the newer key system so he is not bumping the key with his knee and turning off the car. This issue seems to be related to the fuel system sensor or some other electrical component failure that just kills the engine without warning. There are no service engine lights on. The vehicle was going about 50 mph on a straight highway. The outside temperature was in the 80's. There are many postings on the internet about this issue so I know I am not the only one having this problem. None of the internet postings had any real solutions offered.
