Tl the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle overheated and the "engine power reduced" and "car overheating turn off engine" warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bryner Chevrolet (located at 1750 the fairway, jenkintown, PA 19046, (215) 402-7267) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to reproduce the failure. The contact was informed that until the check engine indicator illuminated again, the mechanic would be unable to offer a repair. After several days, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the water pump needed to be replaced. The water pump was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact was also informed that the thermostat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,416.

The water pump on my 2010 Chevrolet Camaro rs failed while driving . Vehicle only has 38,300 miles on it. Since 1962, I have owned 20 gm vehicles, but never had a 'water pump' failure on any except this car. I did notice many other Chevrolet cars (impalas) with same 3. 6 v6 engine hah had water pump failures.
