6 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 04/13/2010

I own a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado LS. Inexplicably and randomly, it shifts itself into 4wd high. Often this is while making a right hand turn. Chevrolet stopped servicing my vehicle, telling me there was no cure for this problem. It has happened at high speeds on the highway as well. The most recent date this happened was yesterday while I was turning into my post office. This has been a constant problem since the recorded mileage was 2,109. Records will show the truck was in for service by gm at least 15 times. Incidentally, this is a replacement truck for a 2005 Colorado that had precisely the same problem. Before the dealer was shut down by gm, the service manager told me that gm detroit had told him not to service the vehicle for this problem any longer as gm had no cure for it.

9 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Failure Date: 11/12/2005

As I was driving my 2004 Chevrolet Colorado, my transmission would not shift into over-drive. The check engine light flashed, but no message was shown on the message center. I took my truck to the local dealer. After talking to the service department yesterday, they informed me that there was a "small recall" for this type of problem (which from what they told me, involves some gaskets and pins of some type). My truck is being repaired at no cost. But in checking your recall list, I found no Colorado. Is this something that everyone with this type of drive train should be made aware of? or is this such a minor issue, that a major notification is not warranted?.
