The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact
stated there was a self-adjusting spring that was accumulating dirt and debris. As a result, there was a hole worn in the brake drum and causing the brakes to fail intermittently. The dealer advised that the failure was an environmental issue. The brake drums were replaced at the contact's expense by the dealer. The contact believed the failure to be a defect in manufacturing. The failure mileage was 48,500 and the current mileage was 50,000. Updated 11/19/2010

Front rotors has gouges at approimately . 28000 miles. Dealer turned rotors. Why were the rotors getting gouged? turning them did not solve the problem. One time rear brakes locked. Dealer fixed them. Rear brakes rubb ed all times when stopping. Dealer turned the drums. On 6/28/07 rear brakes locke d again. Dealer stated vechicle in 4h, may be a switch, to keep an eye on it if it happened again they will replace. All this took place in approximately one month period. As of yet problem wa snot corrected. Note: owner did not put vehicle in 4h.
