Since I've had my truck the passenger seat vibrates excessively while driving; the oil alert comes on even when there is oil, current oil change; seems to not have power, shifts hard. What's interesting is that these items come up when I searched on recalls. This truck is not driven hard. . . Mehanic cant figure out what is causing the oil alert, the passenger seat shaking excessively. . And there is a recall on you tube truck was purchased in [xxx], 07/15 have lived in [xxx] since 11/15. Not sure if this is a safety issue at this point but there is a rattling noise around the steering column when you drive over any bumps and hoping this will not lead to any safety issues.
The turn signal system intermittently malfunctions. When using the turn signal, the auto-cancel function sometimes activates the opposite signal, and at times the stalk does not stay engaged when attempting to signal. This creates a safety risk because surrounding drivers may receive the wrong turning/lane-change indication or no indication at all. The issue has occurred intermittently while driving and has been presented to cox Chevrolet in bradenton, florida multiple times. Cox Chevrolet has verified turn-signal over-cancel and performed prior repairs/programming. However, the issue has not been entirely resolved and continues to occur intermittently. No crash or injury has occurred, but the condition creates a risk of collision during turns, merges, and lane changes.

My dog and I were headed to home depot on [xxx] when without any warning there was a very loud boom. My first thought was that we had been shot at. Once I gathered myself I realized the sunnroof glass had exploded. I rarely open the sunroof but do on occasion have the shade open, luckily it wasn’t open or my dog and I would have been sprayed with the glass which could have caused serious eye injury and potentially a crash. I’ve had 2 chevy dealers tell me that is not a warranty issue that it was likely caused by a rock being thrown up. I do not believe this was the case. The closest vehicle was some 500 feet in front of us. Because it was such a violent explosion I believe it was a pressure explosion. I am also very surprised that the glass is tempered and not laminated. I have insurance so I’m not concerned with getting it repaired. I just want you to know I think it a very serious issue. Engine fails it violenty thumps and studders and drops from highway speed with no warning. This is a mfg. Defect and also an extreme safety concern. The engine studders and thumps and we were almost rear ended by a truck when our truck could not go into gear properly. It is very scary! dealership confirmed that they have many vehicles with same issue and recommended a super flush of transmission but not sure this will correct problem or cause more problems. There is no warning when these incidents occur and the driver has no control to avoid it. It is commonly referred to as the chevy thump and studder and a known mfg defect in which gm refuses to pay for repairs causing consumers an extreme hardship! this is an ongoing issue affecting thousands of vehicles and someone is going to die! there is no negligence of operator of vehicle, it is a manufacturing defect that affects thousands of gm vehicles and they are doing nothing about it except expecting customers to keep incurring cost to try to remedy a repair at our own expense which is unfair! the government needs to force a recall at gm's expense!.

Check engine light came on and the dealership said it was because the coolant was low due to the radiator hose leaking. I was told by the actual mechanic that they’ve had to do a lot of radiator hoses and that it is a known defect with the Colorados and the traverses but that gm hasn’t done a recall on them yet. That is what brings me here. My truck is only 2 years old and this shouldn’t be happening right now. Thank you for taking the time to review this and I hope gm addresses the matter promptly.
When turning off the vehicle the key gets stuck in the ignition. I have to keep turning the vehicle several times and keep moving the shifter to get it to release at least 4 to six times before the key comes out. This happens daily. It started in may and continues to be a daily happening.

The my link infotainment system has been changing screens and channels and bouncing around on its own and is so distracting that it almost made me have an accident. It also makes calls drop while using handsfree. This problem has been taken to the dealer and they replaced the whole screen/system in 2021 for $805 but it is happening again. There is a lot of comments on the web and I have tried everything I could find online to reset, but nothing works. This is a common problem with chevy infotainment systems that could cause accident by distracting drivers. Chevy has to know how to fix this without having to replace every time. Chevy is no help they just refer you to the dealer who just wants to replace for 1k.

The upper radiator hose on some huge percentage of these trucks fail (mine has failed at just over 35k miles). You can check the Colorado chevy forum, youtube, etc. , et al, and find plenty of instances where this has failed. As this is the cooling system, it can cause the engine to overheat and potentially ruin the engine. The flaw seems to be an engineering issue with the rubber seal they use (instead of a high quality o-ring) to seal the upper hose to the radiator. Additionally, since this can cause engine failure it should be addressed immediately. Instead, my local chevy dealer, since its not a recall item, said they could schedule a time next week for me to leave the truck and then they would get to it in 7-10 days. This is extremely unfair to the consumer who depends on these vehicles. This should absolutely be a recall item. You can find 1000's of examples online and if you can pull gm repair data, I'm sure you'll find 1000's more.
Faulty radiator inlet hose, upper radiator hose failure, outlined in pit6494a. This is the third time that the light on the dashboard has come on for failure, the first time they "fixed it" the second time they said it was the battery, it was not!! this time they are saying what it really is, the radiator hose failure, since the vehicle is only 3 years old but over the 36k mile warranty, they will not fix! failure on their part.

Lose his power steering while driving down the road. System says needs work on abs when you hit a bump the radio changes itself. The anti-theft is on when key is in ignition and going down the road it's saying it's theft mode service engine light is on even after servicing the engine.
I have a 2024 chevy Colorado trail boss that needs an upper radiator coolant hose. But apparently this is on nationwide backorder because although there is not a recall gm put a bulletin out they are aware of the issue that appears to be a degraded seal inside hose fitting so the whole hose needs replacing. I live in [xxx] and it is not available here and I have called OH, [xxx] , [xxx] and other state dealerships and noone will sell that part because of the backorder. My truck has 40k miles. And every dealer I called this is a huge issue with these trucks. So it is not a wear issue when it is on nationwide backorder and it'll take 1-2 weeks +/- to get. My warranty won't cover as they say it is a wear part and no recall. So how can there be no recall on a nationwide issue with these trucks. My truck cant be driven right now due to check engine light, low coolant, leaking hose, fan blowing high, no heat and this is all related to this backordered part. Someone told me to report this issue so that is what I am doing now. Again this should be an active recall. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The upper radiator hose on some huge percentage of these trucks fail (mine has failed at just over 5k miles). Infotainment system will start changing on the screen to navigation and also on the odometer screen to audio settings. After turning vehicle off it will seem like a reset then do it again. A big distraction. Has done this multiple times in the last 3 months.

2021 cpo Colorado, bought used with 27,000 miles. Key stuck in ignition. After 9 months of occasional use the key is, more times than not, getting stuck in the ignition when the truck is turned off. You cannot leave it this way because some systems are still energized. You have to repeatedly put it in and out of park till the key comes out. An associated problem is lock/unlock. The fob and switches will not operate the lock unlock function. It is suspected the park problem makes the vehicle think the vehicle is being operated. It will also not let the remote start function work either. The dealer cleared a code and the problem is temporarily solved. They will not cover it under cpo because they cannot duplicate the problem despite the lock unlock not working at their facility. They ordered a new gear shift mechanism for $800 and I am waiting for it to come in. It has been a few weeks of waiting thus far. It is theoretically possible to have the key get stuck and the doors staying locked thereby trapping all the occupants in the truck. I now carry the spare key if I must use the truck. I can turn the truck back on, lower the window, turn the key till it gets stuck, unlock the door by leaning out the window and then escaping but all the other occupants are still stuck inside till you can get the key out.
Radiator inlet hose leaked which caused low coolant. Check light alerted. Replace the hose. Parts are on backorder. Also had a recall on the emergency brake assist. I took this in for the recall however the alert assist still goes off.
The heating blend door broke making the heater unusable. I cant defrost/defog my windows to see in February in new york. . . Its a very common problem with this vehicle and the cost to repair is over 3000.

After the vehicle was parked and powered off for several hours, I started the truck and experienced an extreme and unexpected audio volume spike from the factory bose sound system. The startup sound and turn-signal chime played at an excessively loud level, far beyond normal operation. The sound was sudden and intense, causing immediate ear pain, ringing, and a headache. My dog, who was in the vehicle, became visibly distressed and shaken by the noise. This volume spike occurred before any media audio was playing and appears tied to the vehicle's startup and chime audio system, not user-adjustable radio volume. The turn-signal clicking remained extremely loud afterward, indicating the same audio channel was affected. The vehicle has been operating normally prior to this incident and had not been modified in any way. This occurred during normal use of a brand-new vehicle (purchased about a month ago) with no warning lamps/messages/ or other symptoms prior to the incident. The problem has been reproduced and was able to be recorded via phone video during a reproduction attempt to provide to dealer.
The plastic piece on the heater blend door actuator breaks. There was a recall or a service bulletin (2016019) on this issue for the 2015-16 models. The problem still exists, but chevy will not acknowledge it and the consumer is left to pay a ridiculous amount for the repair. How are they allowed to keep making this product? had I known I wouldn’t have bought the truck.
While driving my 2024 Chevrolet Colorado, both the infotainment system and the instrument cluster reboot unexpectedly. During these reboots, the speedometer, fuel gauge, and warning lights are unavailable for at least 30 seconds. This has occurred multiple times at highway speeds, creating a serious safety concern because I cannot see my speed or critical vehicle information while the system resets. Restarting the vehicle sometimes restores functionality, but the issue recurs intermittently. I have checked with my dealer, and no permanent fix or recall has been issued by gm at this time. This defect poses a risk to driver and passenger safety and should be investigated promptly.
Roof dents when going through car wash and blowers will dent the roof. Gm has a service bulletin on this lbulletin number 23-na-209 dated March 24. Bulletin says that all Colorados built before Feb 3rd 2025 should be repaired and gives a part list and how to fix it 9 pages long. But gm says my VIN number is not showing a recall and will not fix it my Colorado has no damage because I havent put it throuth a car wash trying to get them to fix without putting a dent in it. The fix is putting supports in the roof to reinforce it.
Saturday July 12, 2025: my truck got an action required notice: "exhaust fluid quality poor see owners manual now 100 miles until 65mph max speed" I turned around and returned home to get a different vehicle to do what I needed to do. Monday, July 14 my mechanic hooked it up to the vehicle scanner and got the code information: "p11d5: nox sensor 2 exceeded minimum learning limit (symptom 00) - current dtc, test failed since dtc clear, history dtc, test not passed since power up, warning indicator requested" so we ordered and replaced the sensor, still the action required message remains. . . I am now down to "64 miles to 55mph max speed" and my dealership is telling me there is nothing more that can be done, unless I want to pay up to 5k for additional repairs that in their experience may not fix the issue?? I've googled the issue and many many people complain of this issue and there appears to be no actual fix for it. . . . Gm tells me that im out of luck and they have no information regarding a fix or remedy for the situation!.
Key can not be removed from the ignition switch without repeated turning to the on/run position and moving the shifter to drive and back to park position until the key position goes into the lock off position and can be removed from the switch at this point the key shaft is sometimes very hot to hot to hold comfortably this is an intermittent problem that is increasing in frequency on this vehicle.
The transmission jumps into 1st gear when spot at a traffic light or when parking. Back seat gap and forward collision warning not functioning.
I experienced shuttering when accelerating, leaving treasure island garage. I got on the freeway and drove 11 miles. I experienced shuttering again after waiting at a red light. I experienced final shuttering after reaching another red light. Had it towed to the dealership and was told that the transmission was no longer operational. Truck was 5. 5 years old with a little over 60k miles. I was on the way to pick up my daughter and thankfully, she was not in the truck when this occurred. Truck did routine maintenance at chevy dealerships only. Fairway for the majority and findlay the final year of its life.

I was driving the truck and first I got a "software update needed vehicle must be parked and off" this was followed quickly be a "low tire pressure alarm" 3 times in a short distance then I got a message "antilock brake issue do not drive over 62 mph or vehicle may not stop" then the brakes began to randomly slam on and release and smoke began to come out of the air vents. The next alarm was "esv shutting down " and I lost power steering and brakes; I tried getting the vehicle off the road out of the traffic lanes and the smoke was rapidly increasing in the cab then the engine shut down and I did my best to get the truck out of the traffic lanes and flames started coming from under the hood. A man stopped to help me out of the truck and by then the engine compartment was fully involved quickly and spreading into the interior of the cab. This all happened on country roads at about 40 mph. I went to the medical center 2 days later as I was still having problems breathing from all the smoke. This was a new truck I bought in early November and only had 6900 miles on it.
The problem started two months ago, with a loss of engine power and a stability track warning on the dashboard. This happened occasionally while driving, often going away on its own by turning off the vehicle. Two weeks ago, I took it to Chevrolet for an inspection. They did a general inspection and said it was a factory defect. Now, the vehicle has the problem constantly, and there are times when it's undriveable. That's a risk for me.
Purchased brand new April 24, 2025 within two days of purchase the infotainment system went blank after a few seconds it reloaded. This happened off and on for a couple of weeks dealer replied its a known issue. After 5 weeks the infotainment system and the driver dash went completely blank and stayed that way. The infotainment system had a picture of a care with a wrench and screw driver stating software update failed. I was out of town and stopped at a certified Chevrolet dealer and was told they could not fix it. That there was a software update but no eta on when it would be sent over the air. Now the infortainment system doesnt load when I start the car just the warning about the software update. I took the vehicle to a local dealership and they had the vehicle for 5 hours and could not get the system to accept or update the software. Sometimes the infortainment center will load but doesnt work properly and continues to go blank while driving leaving me with no speedometer, fuel availability, etc.
Heard a humming noise ( spaceship like almost) coming form back of the truck. Took it in and mechanic said there was metal shavings in the differential fluid and gears where bad. Had to get the differential replaced. Most cars go their entire life without having this issue.

Service anti thief system when trying to start truck message comes on sometimes.
I purchased this Chevrolet Colorado knowing there was a potential problem in which the vehicle's battery is drained overnight during an over the air update; I had hoped gm would have a fix by now (but it does not seem they do). From what I've read, along with my own experience, the vehicle is prompted to update software, but in the process of updating, the "computer" system freezes, though the software continues to try and update, thus draining the battery dead. When this happened to me I measured the battery voltage at 4. 4 volts. . . Which in many cases can be lethal to a 12-volt battery. Fortunately I was able to get a boost from a tow truck driver, who then drove my vehicle onto his truck. The dangerous part of this problem is timing. I camp and overland in remote areas. Should this happen when I am miles from service or outside of cell range, I could be vulnerable to all sorts of negative forces. Fortunately, the vehicle was seen at a local dealership, but aside from fixing an unrelated recall and updating the stereo, best I understood I am still vulnerable to this problem occurring again.
When activation of the turn signal for a righthand turn. The signal will blink properly until physically completing the turn to the right, as soon as steering wheel is turned to the left to straighten the steering wheel the turn signal switch will turn off right directional signal but will then instantly activate the lefthand directional signal. Sometimes the lefthand signal will blink several times and turn off by itself. Occasionally the turn signal activation lever will need lifted up to turn it off. This does not happen every time the turn signal is used but will normally happen during a typical drive making multiple righthand turns. This is very distracting to the driver and can cause confusion to pedestrians and oncoming or trailing vehicles.
