Loud Engine Noise Problems of Chevrolet Colorado

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound like and explosion coming from under the hood of the vehicle. Then the engine was making very loud noises. After tearing engine back down, then noticed the exhaust valve was stuck in the down position, while the piston was going in the up position, it broke the piston in pieces and broke the valve. The dealer contacted gm as to what to do. Gm is sending a new engine to replace the blown engine. There is only 25,000 miles on the truck.
