Brake Disc Caliper Problems of Chevrolet Corvette

The front right brake hose that connects the brake �hard lines� to the caliper failed. The rubber portion separated from the fitting on the caliper causing complete brake failure. Brake pedal went to the floor and all brake fluid dumped out onto the ground and inside of the wheel. The vehicle was traveling at high speed under hard brake pressure. Miraculously, I was able to swerve around obstacles and avoid serious collision. I'm lucky to be alive to write this complaint. Upon removing the wheel, the brake hose was hanging free of the caliper draining what was left of the contents of the brake system on the ground.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving 50 mph, the roof panel separated without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09v491000 (structure). The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette. While driving at approximately 60 mph, the passenger side brake caliper engaged and the contact lost control of the vehicle. The contact mentioned that unknown warning indicators illuminated immediately after the failure occurred. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

While makng a tight left turn to gain entrance to the i75 on ramp south of gainsville fla. The driver side front brake caliper locked up causing the car to swerve violently to the left. Fortunately no other car was alongside so an accident was avoided. . Since then this malfunction has repeated itself multiple times but fortunately at slower speeds.

Service stability control system llights came on and off multiple times, when I got home the brakes were completely locked up. I have rebuilt the braking system, calipers, rotors and pads and re bled the system and cannot move the car. Keep getting message to servivce the system. The local dealer just recently put a clip inside the steering wheel under a gm callback. *duplicate to 10459099*smch.

2005 Corvette part time realtor, my husband and I were researching property in pacific palisades when at the top of the mountain the wheels locked up and car slid & skid, took approximately 15 seconds to come to a stop. Placed car in park & turned off engine. No cell service to call aaa, waited for 10 mins, started car & drove very slowly home. Took car to dealer on 06/12/2006 service invoice# cvcs110532 = wording on the service report is as follow: #1 customer states that after backing up then going forward the vehicle felt like the front brakes were locked up - removed wheels, calipers and inspected brakes, no problem detected. #2 customer states that the engine feels like it hesitates when accelerating. - check for codes found history po300 random misfire on 1 & 8 inj both @ 15 lbs. Performed fuel injector flush & add additive test after all inj leak down the same.

Equipped with the z51 option, the c6 Corvettes braking system squeaks and squeals very loudly.
