1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 11/30/2017

Two brake rotors on 2018 Corvette grand sport have permanent rust bands that do not wear off under braking. They are scoring and grooving the brake pads instead. Gm blames the dealer for poor maintenance but neither will replace because they say it's only cosmetic according to them. They did advise me to replace the rotors myself at a cost of $4000 on a brand new car! it has had the band since day 1! when the car is washed or the rotor gets wet it fuses to the pads and locks the wheel. You have to rock the car get it to break loose. They keep referencing a gm service bulletin that prohibits dealers from replacing or resurfacing rusted rotors. This is not normal surface rust. It is permanent and is compromising the brake pads! this is definitely a safety concern.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 07/04/2011

I own a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette. While the vehicle was parked in the garage I smelled a strong fuel odor. I checked and he replaced the gasoline cap, and noticed a gas puddle on the ground washed the vehicle but could still smell fuel. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet mechanic who diagnosed the failure and confirmed that the fuel tank pipe connectors were defective. The fuel tank connectors could not be replaced; therefore, the fuel tank had to be replaced. The vehicle wasn't repaired. The failure mileage was 35,400 and the current mileage was 35,400. The Chevrolet dealer diagnosed the following issues: needs left side fuel tank and sending unit $3,887. 50, rear brakes pads and rotors $517. 50, front brakes pads and rotors $482. 50, brake flush $165. 00, induction and injector services $350. 00. Service rear posi diff. $165. 00. Currently I am a cancer patient and due to medical cost I am unable to afford the repairs. This vehicle is the only mode of transportation that I have. Any assistance that you could afford me would be greatly appreciated shouldn't the issues be a recall/safety issue. Thanks in advance. . R. Thomas.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 02/26/2010

This problem started soon after I purchased the car used. I have replaced the brake switch and added four inches of wire to the wiring harness to the telescopic steering wheel. I recently replaced the brake pads and the service handling system soon comes on. There is no recalls on my car and have been to the dealer about the problem and they can't figure it out. I am reading this could be a serious problem and can cause an accident. I have been to the Corvette forum and tried numerous things to fix this. I am currently checking electrical grounds to see if that helps.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 1998 Chevrolet Corvette

Failure Date: 11/01/1998

I find it simply amazing that after 7k miles the brakes pulsated and the rotors were warped at 13k and now at 18k miles, mall Chevrolet (in cherry hill) is always where it is serviced, claims the brake pads are worn and that is what is causing the pulsating. I am not able to file a lemon law since the car just turned 18k miles. But I would have someone look into the rotors & brake pads placed on these vehicles. !.
