Gm refuses to replace the brake module despite the fact that this has been known since September 2020. The remedy "is incomplete"and parts are not yet available. It is ludicrous to assume that parts on a currently produced car are not available. They are installing this module daily. These are brakes that can fail and can cause an accident when they do fail.

On September 24, 2020, Chevrolet issued a recall for a possible contaminated brake booster module on numerous 2020 vehicles. This to me is a serious matter when it deals with the vehicles braking system. There have been customers online who have talked about this issue, with one customer stated that his brakes did fail and it was difficult for him to stop. I have made numerous calls to gm and no one could give me any accurate information. I have not been driving my new 2020 Corvette very often because of fear of brake failure. I was told by a gm rep that if module did go out that your brakes would still work. He stated that you would just have to use more foot pressure on brakes. It has now been over 90 days and I am requesting that this issue get resolved for all new car owners who have this recall. Gm is too large of a company to let this just linger as if its no big deal.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while attempting to move the vehicle after the vehicle was parked, the front brakes failed to release. The failure occurred after the brakes became wet from the rain. Additionally, the shifter cable fractured and the transmission was unable to be shifted into gear. The vehicle was taken to suburban Chevrolet of clinton located at 1070 west us 12, clinton, mi 49236, however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 100.

Electronic brake control module failed while at a chevy dealer and I was told that gm no longer produced the part. In the meantime, I am driving a vehicle without anti-locks and without traction control, safety options I paid for that are now inoperable. Should an accident occur as a result of these failings, would gm accept responsibility??.

I was leaving my house to go to work and when I got to the busy street, there was complete and total brake failure. I ended up running over a curb and hitting some trees to stop my car. I had aaa tow my car to a mechanic's shop and he tried working on it for about a week to ten days and could not figure out why I had no brakes at all. He said the abs system seems to be malfunctioning, but it shouldn't leave me without any brakes. He said he thought it was a safety issue and that gm would need to be notified about this and he urged me to send my car to a gm dealership to take care of the issue. I had aaa tow my car to bob stall Chevrolet in la mesa, CA and they verified that the abs system was fried and that I would need to replace the unit. When I asked if gm would help with the cost of the replacement since it was a safety issue, they said I would have to call gm customer service. I did and they said they wouldn't be able to assist because the dealership was telling them that the car had brakes and worked fine when they got it. Now I am seriously concerned with the safety of my car and the brakes and the fact that if the abs goes out or fries, that I might possibly not have brakes at all. My car has been at the dealership for almost a month now and they still haven't been able to fix it yet.

My 1999 chevy Corvette displayed brake failure codes. The mechanic scanned it and tells me it needs a brake control module. I contacted a few dealers and learned that the brake control module is a discontinued part and no longer available. What do I do?.
